  1. That's what Toretto would switch to if he decided to slow down, not stop and smell the rose fragrance air freshener.....
  2. Diggin that Cool Cat....
  3. Not nice but freaking AWESOME! The body by Dr. Larry also?
  4. My brother in law and sister bought a 69 Olds Cutlass not long after they were married. I remember it was a clean bright white with a metallic lt. blue interior. It's stance sat a little taller than stock, white wall Michelin tires and was immaculate inside and out. That Olds stood out regardless of what or where it was parked. That is a Award winning build....and the diorama of your parking lot takes it to another level.
  5. Whoa! Whoooa! You didn't think that.... Adults Toys by Dodge Ad Campaign in the mid 70's was an actual marketing pitch from 77 to 81. Bold colors and .graphics, factory Chrome rims and big tires, a Roll bar behind the cab and a shot of Automotive testosterone that blatantly told the EPA to orally manipulate it's tail pipe. Actually it was a emission loophole that didn't require trucks to have a catalytic converter, just cars. Lil Red Wagon, Warlock, Macho Power Wagons O My! If having the latest G.I. Joe or the Joe Namath endorsed Spauding football made you the most popular kid in the neighborhood, then the Adult Dodge Lineup of Custom Vans and Trucks just launched you past the Automotive Valhalla of Cool. Whew! Time to idle down....Well, it wasn't much of a mental stretch of what to do with the Warlock drivetrain. I do remember buying the MPC 75 Dodge Pick Up 4x4 with the Motorcycle when I was WAY younger. I remember the tires not looking correct to scale for the truck but the motorcycle was the neatest thing. Models come and go, time never stop moving forward and things just disappear. May not be the original but its a do over.. The 78 graphic scheme really caught my eye. The double yellow stripe running along side the lower character line is eye catching regardless of vehicle color and the blacked out hood (which does extend to the cab roof) protrays a menacing look. A nerve racking experience of masking the double stripe required a lot of work. Ironically it was the day after of painting I located the decals with the stripe package. Decal sheet being acquired for the tailgate Power Wagon logo but the painted stripe is staying.
  6. Well no surprise here...take one Warlock 4WD kit + one MPC 78 Dodge D100 2WD + one Hart's Parts 73 Grill/Hood conversion....swap the drivetrain from both kits and you end up with Dodge's basic economy truck package sitting on the lot to be purchased. The only problem I encountered was not properly separating each kit with the drive train and got a abdominal workout bending over to pick up the incorrect box and a mental work over trying to remember which part was in which box. It worked out in the end. The only issue with either the Walock/D100 2wd is the fitment of the frt grill/valance/bumper...hardly any suitable mounting points to securely attach the grill/valance/bumper to. The MPC 78 D100 has yet to have a chassis plate that has been warped. Used enough hot water/time to be certified as a Midwife assistant. None the less...an enjoyable build... As for the 78 D100 Long bed.....stay tune!
  7. The Chevelle and the Monte Carlo were the iconic symbols of the early 70's Chevolet line up, a automotive muscularity of style. Fantastic color you laid on it. At one time I wouldn't spray a different manufacturer paint if it wasn't what was factory ....but then nobody knew any better and it looked just as good! Great build!
  8. Awesome
  9. Going to the beach in that would be soooo much cooler than riding in your Great Grandparent's Woodie!
  10. Boy did I miss this one but glad I got to see it. Fantastic Blue and flawless paint!
  11. Great build! Can definitely see one of these either in my neighborhood or school parking lot when I was much much younger...
  12. Good looking ride you there....
  13. 1972 Ford Gran Torino 1970-71 Mercury Cyclone Early 70's Maverick/Comet
  14. You know.......that looks like the one I saw at your place the other day. You by chance don't have another one you're not showing us? Lol! I'm sure those rear tires have cause the asphalt on your drag strip to roll up like a door mat once she dropped the hammer! Great job as always and as we say about each others builds, " You make me sick!" Lol!
  15. Awesome! Thanks for bring the period of Nascar to the forefront. He also ran that same scheme on a Matador...
  16. Hmm...great minds think alike! Yours looks great, alot of the overall look you captured. On the Rust-oleum paint, as we say in my neck of the woods, " You a mighty brave soul to be doin dat!". I think you got a handle that....and a great looking truck!
  17. First impression was the box art. Didn't quite know what to make of the camper shell but forge ahead and built the truck. Midway through I decided the assemble the Camper shell and things started to take shape. The more I looked at the camper shell the finished outlook was coming into view. Most of the internet pics showed a solid paint scheme while few had the 2 tone. The 2 tone was the cab roof/ below the trim color optional while in between ( hood, top of doors/ bed white. Decided to reverse the 2 tone as to where the blue on the camper matched that of the middle color layer of the truck. I think it worked. Did not realize that this was a uni-bodied design, no separate bed. I understood it to be for the 63 model year but was told by a good friend whose dad was a Ford dealership GM that it was from 1961 to 63. They converted back to separate cab/bed in mid 63 production. It was a revolutionary design being cost cutting and effective but the economy was taking a down turn. Painted with Krylon Gloss Blue Ocean Breeze and Dover White. The Ford letters on the tail gate were hand painted with the body blue.
  18. Whew Jim! Memory getting shorter than a Subway footlong! Lol. I was impressed by the way it assembled and the pre-painted white pearl that it came in. The only other detailing that I did was seat insert decals that I had ( no longer available but made the interior seats pop!) and the door panels. Best I could do to get pic of interior. DS window wouldn't roll down for better view....
  19. I wished I built the Moebius Belvedere or Satellite before hand.....why? It was a joy, no issue, almost didn't need glue, NO FLASH!, maybe one mold seam line on the body. It all went together except for one issue......picking the color! Originally was going to do it in white with red interior since it would be offered as a bare bone stripped down version from the factory. Reaching into my paint box I came out with Testors #2922 Champagne Gold, nothing flashy but close to what the color charts from Chrysler had to offer. I did run across a article after I was putting the body on the chassis on Bill Goldberg's (the wrestler) build of a 65 Coronet. It was also a light Gold in similarity and looked great. The center caps/dog dishes in the kit don't quite seem to correct. The fit onto the rim itself is not an issue but they appear to be taller thus stick out more in my opinion. More of a mixing bowl than a dog dish. Also added some pics of a Polar Lights version, 65 Coronet 500 for a little comparision. If I remember the PL was a pre-painted snap kit but also a enjoyable build and subject matter. One other vehicle is also included but is posted in another category.....
  20. Great kit! Extra parts which in turn cover/overlap the other variations. The windows are close cut to their respective positions so time and care need to be applied for a clean installation. The Center caps are a bit odd ball item, slightly taller (IMHO) in scale and gives the appearance of sticking out like a oversize mixing bowl instead of a dog dish. Decals were a little tough to work with due to being very small for fat fingers and fuzzy eye sight. Overall a crisp detail kit, nothing hard to assemble and a fine addition to anyone's collection.
  21. All I can say is "Campbell's Soup"....it's hmm hmm good! Something thing you wished Revell would issue, all the part trees and half the mold....
  22. Dog gone Kenny! You started it last week and you're done! That was quicker than an actual NASCAR race..lol! Looks great my friend..
  23. Pictures #4 & #5 were extra bodies laying around. Pics #2 & #3 original kit bodies while #1 & #6 were the reissued. Bought an AMT 69 Mustang sometime back, to small to work. I read someone's thread on using a 1/24 scale with better results.
  24. I think you need to light them tires up, drop the hammer on the "GO" button and white knuckle that unholy amount of flame spewing horse power non Tesla-ticle mo-chine to the Promiseland of the Finish line. When that is all said and done...put it in the box it came in, hop in your car and drive it over to you best friend's house (that's yours truly!) so he can put it in his display case...... Lol..Great job and as we tell each other..."You make me sick!"
