  1. Woooweee Kenny! That critter in the 1st pic looks a lot smaller in real life... Great build! Definitely can tell that you really enjoyed building this one. One word of advice......next time I come over to visit, don't have slithern Seymour to greet me at the door! Lol. Keep up the great work...Chuck
  2. I've got the Resin body, the decals and the donors for the chassis but I never got or can find the time. In the meantime, I'll spend my time admiring your time and effort. Great looking build! Chuck
  3. That 3rd pic is just wind tunnel sexy! One of the smoothest curves on a Custom I've have ever seen. Fantastic overall?
  4. I thought I posted on this before but didn't for whatever reason (old age, forgetfulness, had a "squirrel" moment). But if I did post a 2nd post..it still looks fantastic!
  5. Meep! Meep! ???!
  6. The Sleeper that everybody knows not to pull up beside at the light! SWEET!
  7. Got the kit ..hard to resist not doing it as a copy of yours!
  8. Well I'm split as to which one I like the best! Both!
  9. Timeless...the 66 and 67 were the best looking designs of their era and your Red Chevelle proves that w/o a doubt! My brother in law told me of a story involving him and my dad. My brother in law, Mike, had just purchased a 67 Chevelle SS 396 and offered to take Pops for a ride in it. Now Pops had his share of some of early Detroit's muscle offerings and made it known to Mike that he didn't think his newly acquired Chevolet could live up to the likes of his previously owned Pontiacs 389 3 carb set up. Mike took that as the equivalent of a challenge inferred with a slap to the cheek with a velvet glove. Starting out was uneventful while navigating the neighborhood, a few snaps of the throttle at the beginning of each block only to catch the stop sign at the end was a virtue of patience until the main highway was finally the destination....... Mike says he waited for traffic passed and get a little ways down the road. Meanwhile Pops not really aware of where or what and still inspecting the interior making comments and observation..... Time appeared momentary to stop but the 396 rpm's transcended past time and the view through which the windshield provided gave a panoramic view of both sides of the white lines as the new car cushion of the seats were compressing from the brute acceleration. Mike claims he caught a glimpse of Pop white knuckles, left hand clutching the seat belt strap for grip while his right arm ridgely extended towards the dash or windshield. Eyes wide open as in total surprise along with his mouth as if he was trying to exhale all at once but no sound...the 396 was coming into it's own like a symphony with the exhuast and tires all crashing in together. By now the Pop's mute vocals were coming into audible understanding of religious figures and pleas to slow down.... As for myself when he told me this sometime after Pop's passing, I can't help but chuckle because I can not think of anytime he would be so animated. My brother in law Mike, I'm a little guarded in how I tease or taunt him these days.
  10. A fun build...had not thought of such a factory Drag car until I saw and bought the last set of decals at the Salisbury, NC Swap meet this past February. Tamiya TS-54 sprayed on perfectly for the Chrysler B5. Removed the back seat from the interior tub, used a Revell Charger 440 and a 69 Coronet for Bell housing/Trans. The K frame came from the Revell Charger tree while the original Demon K frame was removed and new K frame lowered so the 440 would somewhat fit with the hood on( just barely). Keystones were found in my parts box. Not sure on the maker of the decals. Detail was great with the gold foil striping. Had to trim right up to the decal to highly reduce the clear film and slightly thicker than normal. But I would buy another set from the vendor. Nothing that as a Modler I or anyone else couldn't overcome... Sent a few pics to my modeling buddies, Model Guy had the audacity to ask where the smoke from the back tires were.....told him they were not in the kit bit I would look for them! Lol
  11. Great looking combo...having seen it in person looks even better! Photos don't do it justice. Keep up the great work Kenny! Any delicious cool refreshing liquids in the cooler when we take it out fishing?
  12. They made a stock factory version... w/o the numbers lol. Same kit. Added wing from actual photo of real car. Love your race version!
  13. I heard Nascar laid train track down since that car was so fast that it was on a rail..... GO CALE!
  14. Well this Ole boy loves him some Mopar. Great job. PS: Check the rearview mirror for a suspicious Highland Green Mustang ....it won't be able to keep up!
  15. Like the Campbell Soup commercial says.." Mmm Mmm Good!" Love the paint..flawless
  16. Sweet looking Poncho. Incredible looking dash and trim work!
  17. Not a fan of convertibles but I would love to have that in my display case......excellent paint and assembly, especially the interior dash and console!
  18. Whewww! Sweet and crisp like a new $100 bill!
  19. Wow! Down here in the Carolinas' one inch (2.54 centimeter) of that white stuff and you got the Carolina Stampede to the grocery store for milk, eggs and bread. I guess that will sustain a household in case of a two inch( 5.08 centimeter) regional incapacitating blizzard. Another Interesting fact: As if we don't drive fast enough, speed governers are deactivated... Love that truck and a fantastic job on the weathering!
  20. I'm hearing in my head " Chevy Van" by the Sammy Johns even though your is a Ford......same thought different make in a memory far far away. It's gotta be the shag carpet! Very, very Well Done !
  21. With the style cues being borrowed from their sister subsidies you can see Buick's old guard DNA still lingering....Sharp!
  22. A compact sedan transformed into a Sedan delivery wagon with a splash of 70's California vibe and nod to the Custom Van craze..... A Big Blue Oval decision that probably came 2-3 years to late. GM Chevolet Vega Kammback Panel wagon was dropped in 1975 just as the full size Custom Van were coming into their own. For its 10 year production run starting in 1970, the Pinto was an entry level ( basic), affordable ( Cheap) and a popular icon ( dull transportation) in the subcompact class. I have had some challenging builds in my modelbuilding tenure. One that comes to mind was the Trumpeter 60 Pontiac Bonneville, 23 pieces to make a radiator. Another was the Lindbergh Dodge L-700 Cab over Truck with a flatbed trailer and 40 Ford, so much flash that if I'd were able to recycle the flash I would have two extra kits. But this kit went together as expected for the 1978 issue. Below average detail, the body being the only redeeming effort in detail. It did come with two engine, a 1200cc (2.0L) and a 351W..... It was the ten times I attempted to paint the body that made me shake my head, throw a can of paint into the backyard (yes I went and retrieved it), purple pond bomb and drown multiple times, sand multiple times, say a profane word or two, buy more white spray paint bc the time tested and trusted paint brand I have used went South multiple times, a whole heckuva lot of more profanity and some unforgiving uncooperative weather during the time. Fortunately no model was injured during the building of this kit.....but my patience sure did take a plastic foot to the...as I was saying, this kit went together. I would like to mention that it was my daughter who got me this kit along with the 79 Plymouth Volare Roadrunner ( posted) from a Thrift store while out weekend rummaging . Excited about the Volare, I told her to go ahead and get the Pinto....glad I did.
  23. What is a good match for late 60's to early 70's B5 blue. And also the current B5?
  24. Great build of a true legend
  25. A Chryler product in any paint scheme is a winner! BTW, know anyone that has a extra set of those decals? (Inside joke)
