I hate to admit it but I just don't know the answer to this question. I have looked on the web, Googled it, Bing'd it and asked around. No luck. On the Outlaw kit, as well as the 1:1, it looks like there are three exhaust pipes per side on a V8 engine. It does not look like the middle pipe is a two into one pipe. Why aren't there four pipes on each side? I'm sure there is a simple explanation but I'll be darned if I can find it. Thanks in advance for any answers, explanations, links to sites, etc.

That is one of the nicest examples of that model that I have seen. Like everyone else I think that is a great color choice.

Super clean build. I really like that overhead shot, (pic #5). That is the money shot for me. Nice job Dante!

I think it is gorgeous. One does not need hundreds of dollars worth of gee-gaws and doo-dads to make a beautiful build. You are proving my point . -

If I was not an automotive builder I would build aircraft. I do believe that I would not limit myself to one era. I would love to take a crack at some of the Wingnut Wings kits. I am a sucker for boxart and I think the aircraft guys have the best . Funny thing is, currently I am on a big battleship kick. I have the USS Missouri, Yamato and Bismarck, all 1:350. I have a good bit of PE for the Missouri. Lots of reference books. The Yamato was Tamiya's loaded kit. The Bismarck is Revell's newer kit that got much better reviews than Tamiya's. I have a Lion Roar set and Artwox wooden decks for it, (so far...haha). I have already had a custom case made for the Missouri. For all of the guys who think car kits are too expensive, stay away from the military side of the hobby. I am thinking that ships have to be at the top of the pile for those who have to have all the extra bits to go with the kit. -
That is a beautiful build of an absolutely beautiful car. Well done!

Another beauty, Curt. Question for you. What is your opinion of the Fujimi kits when compared to RoG and Tamiya? Are they just as good, better, worse?

1911 Christie fire engine WIP
Nacho Z replied to Harry P.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very impressive work so far Harry. I am a huge fan of detailed WIPs. Great pictures with great explanations of what was done. This is the number one way I pick up tips and techniques. Looking forward to more! -
What removes old decals?
Nacho Z replied to Patrick2005's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Simply apply tape over the decal, burnish it down and pull it off. You may have to do this several times. -
Thanks for all of the nice comments. Yes Harry, the fact that all the horses are the same bothered me too but changing their stance was well beyond my capabilities. Even if they would have put two different poses in the kit the builder could have mixed them up a little. A small follow up to this story. The man that I built this for retired so I did not see him too often. On one of the times I saw him I asked how the model was holding up. He told me he traded it for a knife.... . I sure would have liked to get it back. It really was an eye catching model.

I love it! There is just something about those old dragsters....

I thought I would share this old build of a subject that you just don't see too often. This was built around 15 years ago. It was a good learning experience for me. There was an elderly gentleman that I worked with who knew I built models. He found this at a yard sale and bought it for $1.00. He asked me to build it for him and I thought "How hard could it be?" It was a lot harder than I thought. Lots of filling and sanding. Tons of detail painting. 32 legs and hoofs. Painting their manes. All of the detail painting on their collars - all of the gold is hand painted. The hardest part for me was trying to get the correct color and sheen on the horses. All in all, I was happy with the outcome. More importantly, so was he. Pardon the quality of the pictures. They are scanned from good ol' fashioned paper photos, (remember those???) Here is what I started with. Here is what I finished with.

It is nice to see a F1 that is not one of the "big boys", i.e. Ferrari. She looks great Curt. I am happy to see this built. You have done a great job of it. I have looked at this kit many times but have not bought it. You say it is a very nice kit so that is good enough for me! Maybe Santa will bring me one .

She is pretty cool Adam. I like the color combo, a real attention getter!
