  1. Looks good, great to see what's been produced in south America, a former co worker was in Brazil for a while for a GM project, that sadly didn't make it to our production facility. He did bring with him a brochure with the then current lineup from GM do Brazil...
  2. Airfix would be a prime candidate for that, but for some reason they still hold on to 1/32nd scale They could start for instance with a Lotus Cortina and Ford Capri MkI Revell Gemany I would love to see doing, a Opel Rekord C, or Manta/Ascone 400... We can dream don't we....
  3. Would be nice, they could offer several model years and even the break (yeah I know it's but ugly ;^) Anyhow...nice to see that they're doing a European young-timer and hope this opens the door to lots more...
  4. Maybe model companies can avoid such things by sending test shots and a box art preview to knowledgeable and discrete people outside the company. Cuz sometimes when working intensely on project you seem to take certain things for granted, especially when you seem to run on auto. Been there, when following pre-production vehicles on the assy line.....

  8. Love it!
  9. Some people like to bash the Chinese, but they seems very good at copying things. So I believe when it's economical feasible they can recreate the original kit, by copying an original and make new tooling, but again it's all about return on investment. Also their way of tooling up a model kit is IMHO a huge improvement over the big steel blocks containing everything that have been used in the US 'till they moved manufacturing to the orient. TheY use several smaller tools, which make them more hand-able, and also make it easier to create variations now or well into the future without messing with the original design.
  10. A bigger box means fewer kits in shipping boxes, fewer in the container = higher price per unit. Maybe they could design a two part decal sheet, one with everything but the long stripes and one with just the stripes, they can insert the last one diagonally in the box so it won't bend. Just my 2 cents.... ;^)
  11. If you wish to update that kit, use the amt '71 Charger kit, some modelers here did with excellent results.
  12. Pulled this kit after reading this tread, a 98 or so ltd edition, took the body out and oh man, it needs a total panel line makeover with a BMF panel scriber, that bad, best to take out the dremel and turn this kit into a abandoned roadside vehicle. Anyway this kit is one of the reasons, I never understood why a couple years into the merger, the Revell brand was chosen over the Monogram name, when the company went from Revell-Monogram to Revell.
  13. Dean Milano did a model for My Favorite Martian. Here some info taken from his FB page. The story: Sometime back in the mid 1990s or so, Disney Studios contacted me telling me they were working on a remake of My Favorite Martian and they needed a model of a 1960 Valiant, which was apparently the car in the original TV series. So, I told them I had one and they were thrilled. I painted it the color they needed (copper) and built it up, sending it off to Hollywood. Apparently, the model was used in several scenes in which the car is miniaturized and sent down a bathroom drain. They also used it as a guide to build several more models of various sizes. When it was all done, they returned my model along with a really huge check. No wonder the budgets are so high on these films. Ha!
  14. If it were me, I would offer every kit as a "two in one, (decal version)", the first half of the run prominently showing version "A" last half, version "B" Ha! ;^)
  15. Thanks for the info Mark, now I can order a copy with confidence. Again thanks!! Luc
  16. Wondering...is the fan base for this model bigger then that of it's successor ('73-'86 model). If the Moebius Ford P/U kits do well who knows what they will tackle next...
  17. Hmm...the overhang behind the RR wheel-well looks long compared to whats in front of it, dunno if it's correct or not just odd...
  18. Someone here has the cost breakdown of a automobile? Cuz don't think the wages are the dominant factor. Prove me wrong ;^) Also looks like Toyota thinks long term vs short term like US based companies, one of the reasons Opel does so poorly is because in the '90s GM hired a Spanish cost cutter who, squeezed out parts vendors like a lemon, so that Opel ended up with lemon cars, once it's public knowledge that profit goes before product (every one knows of those cheap Chinese toys which disintegrate when out of the blister packaging, the equivalent of GM back then) then consumers go elsewhere, hence the success of product from the far east and premium brands, trying to get those customer back, is next to impossible, see what happened in the US, BTW I think VW is still grateful for that GM lawsuit, in the end it saved them from stepping into the same trap as Opel.
  19. Too bad, I have a book in my collection on the development of the Holden Commodore "Project VN" got it while still working for GM. Got a few brochures from the kind people at Holden too, lost all contact due to not having access to the GM intranet. Know how they must feel, went thru the same with the Antwerp plant closure. Oh well...there's life after auto-manufacturing and development, but won't be as much fun. Luc
  20. thanks for the tip! here's the decal sheet! Photo courtesy of Roy Sörenson via FB
  21. Art, Do the licensors give their approval based on the tooling model or on the test shots and box-art mockup? Thanks Luc
  22. Good one, but understandable since the US is such a large country. In the summer of '93 during my first visit to the USA (CA, AZ, UT, NV) our King Boudewijn died and my brother and I didn't know about it, until we returned home. Luc
  23. As you all know by now, the Kats at Amt, redid the grille on the '60 Ford Ranchero. Not only did they backdate it to 1960 specs, but they went the extra mile creating chrome headlamp buckets with clear lenses, a move I can only applaud and also a pet peeve of mine, which has been addressed, for which I thank the R&D team at Round2. Now my question to you all, would you like to see this modification continued and even extended into the regular (non restored) re-issues too, or don't you care? Thanks in advance for your input Best Regards Luc
