  1. Nice rescue! Really liking the change to yellow.
  2. Dan is right, really looks good painted. Good color choice. I was glad to see the AITM production to to Doug, good guy to work with, and awesome stuff. In the near future, one of the Autocar AT64 conversions will find it’s way to my stash.
  3. Nail on the head, for sure. Sharp as a tack! Well done!
  4. I seen to remember a brochure with this paint scheme, or something very close. Super sharp finished product. Well worth the effort. Great looking model, well done!
  5. Pretty slick stake bed! Even looks like Alford color, Gulfstream aqua. Nice work.
  6. This is a spectacular build! Well worth the time invested, the results are apparent from every angle. Outstanding, simply outstanding!
  7. Bill, very cool build. Great blue, and the graphics are perfect for this hauler. The Mustang is a perfect compliment to the truck. Really liking this model.
  8. Thank you for the compliments, they are greatly appreciated. Helmut, this IS a reworked AMT cab, augmented with Italeri FLD 120, cab parts. The modern doors, baggage doors, visor, and 2 grilles, are the major components for the modernization. It was also widened by .120”. Here are pictures of the 2 cabs I modified, one with brass rivets, and one with plastic rivets. This is the one with .020” plastic rod inserted and sanded down to simulate rivets.
  9. The first thing I was able to rescue, from my flooded basement/hobby shop, after a frozen pipe burst, was a cab I had started in 2009. So, it was to be finished, come he// or high water, literally. The cab is widened to series 71 width, and stretched to 106”. I will build an FLB with a 110” sleeper, eventually. Jim Russell wheels on the tractor, Doug Wagner wheels on the trailer, which is a stretched Great Dane rerelease, photo etched tank steps, KFS I think, heat shields, from Model Maker Shop in Austria, and Italeri FLD120 parts make it more modern looking. Ken Smith’s old article about turnin an 855 Cummins into an N14+ was put to good use. That is not a resin engine. Krylon Short Cuts Antique Bronze paint and Maxx Model decals finish the cab, and extend to the trailer, and strobe out. Tinted, flush fit glass help get rid of the bulletproof kit windows. A little added wheelbase, and Italeri Airliner suspension update the chassis. At the bottom are a couple of shots of the cab when I started this truck. Sorry, the pics were taken with a cell, and some are a little skewed. Added some closeup pictures, with better details.
  10. I wanted a different tanker, something other than petroleum, and have some friends that work for TMWA, in Reno, so, this is the result. Very basic, just an after-cooler 3406A, WFL 22” wheels, Revell 359 exhaust, and lots of cutting up Patriot decals.
  11. It has been a very trying 2 years since I have had the opportunity to really visit. Everything from CoVid, to a heart attach, to burst water pipe flooding my work shop, but I have managed to get some plastic put together. First, with the leftovers from my 110” Cruiseliner, I wanted to see what a 63” Daycab would be like. This is it. Pretty much box stock. It will have a chrome tanker, eventually. Even tried to replicate fresh grease on the fifth wheel. Wanted a pure fleet look.
  12. Jocobus, first my condolences, thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I wanted to help with you engine fitment issue. I googled brochure images for Crakerboxes. as I am working on one as well, here are a couple of renderings showing the fan location. Hope this is useful. Mark.
  13. WOW! Excellent conversion! Outstanding work!
  14. Brian is exactly right. Factory built long wheelbase tractors are use specific, logging, steel hauling, anything where the load can hang over the truck frame, and not the back of the trailer. The custom crowd, myself included, love long wheelbase frames, just looks so cool to me. An added benefit is that the front suspension has more time to recover from a compress/rebound event before the rear axles hit the same bump, or pothole, etc.., so the ride is actually, noticeably smoother. With an air ride front axle, even a cabover could almost be acceptable as far as ride is concerned. Rough riding or not, still LOVE cabovers best. just my 2 cents worth. Mark.
  15. OH, this turned out beyond cool! You perfectly captured the 'used but not abused' look. Very slick build!
  16. Exactly right Hermann. Outstanding color choice, and very well executed assembly techniques.
  17. I truly appreciate the feedback from all of you. It is great to hear from so many builders with skills of your level. Thank you all.
  18. Thank you all very much for the kind words. I am very appreciative for the feedback. When you look at them for so long, all you seem to see is the defects. Good to take a step back and get some feedback. Given the quality of builds from you all, your comments carry great weight.
  19. This model just shouts '60s workhorse! Love the result, very nice build.
  20. Ken, we all expect your always your way above par building skills, but your color pallet always amazes.
  21. What he said...Very well done.
  22. Awesome conversion. Another outstanding build.
  23. Ditto that. Really ups the 'Company truck' look and feel. Well done Ken.
  24. What a great fleet. They look terrific! Well done, Geoffrey. Very realistic weathering. Excellent choices on the subjects, way outside the norm.
  25. Lots of character to this good build. Very well done.
