great looking build....one of the best of this kit I've ever seen done.......love it, the Ace.....

it's just time and work, sanding, more sanding, wet sanding.....I did that once about 30 years ago with a beater body just to see what would happen....work's fine if you put the time into it.....the Ace....

....you could be right, Brett, on all accounts here, as you are a major seller of kits and do see a side to all many do not. but I think there is something we all may want to keep in mind regarding many of these discussions on the forum about reissue's that people say they want.....if the company's read a lot of these threads, and we know they do, and various idea's for reissue's are basically dead in the water because many of us say they are already, what incentive do the company's have to consider such project's for the future,,,,I have alway's thought that if idea's are given to let's say, Round2, with a positive spin on some kit's that can be issued using different art work and their new goodie's included, then all is possible. I guess I'm just an optimist about thing's that are exciting to me and to some other collector's........all just my opinion....the Ace...

.......let's hope they do.........the Ace....

......wished you 'd have said......you have a valid point regarding Walmart and luke warm kit's being dumped worldwide, and figured that you may be basing this on sale's in a small country. regardless, the drag team set's have been of great interest by many collector's and builder's for years, and many still feel they would be a great seller.....the Ace...

yes, I'm aware that the limited edition line is just that...a line. I figured that a 5,000 run for set's like this would be the norm, and regular production of their other car kit's is considerably higher. I suppose I look at it this way...let's say, for sake of argument, Round2 reissued the Cal Combo Falcon/ Galaxie set,,,,I bet they go thru them a lot quicker if done properly with lot's of the right goodie's inside, as apposed to reissued version's of the Trailer, Galaxie, and Falcon again.....that's a ton more product to flog than only one item that has never been out again, and hold's real excitement in close to original form, than the single's mentioned. let's face it, the saying I always still use from my car business career back years ago is, if all else fails,,,try price....if priced reasonably with the right stuff in the box, I think they would be a winner for Round2. all those cookie tin set's were a bad decision, IMO, and if they at one point make any of the early set's mentioned, they should retain their original format. as for the other comment from the other member, you simply can't compare volume of product in Belgium to what North America can sell in ANY general term.......the Ace......

Alan, you make a terrific point that I forgot to mention. re pop the drag team set's that can be made, and truly keep them a limited edition....pre order's and fairly low numbers produced.....the price point may sting a bit, but nothing like an original. I realize that not everyone in car kit land will want one, but I'll bet those who do will order the maximum allowed per customer.....the only drawback to all this on limited release is that Round2 has to profit from all said, so volume sale's on a bigger run may be the only way they accomplish that....either way, I'm in for 3 of each of the Shelby, Falcon, and Chevy drag team set's if it ever becomes reality .....the Ace....

.......built just for fun,,,,gee, that's the whole idea, Al......looks great and keep enjoying and having fun........the Ace....

.....looks pretty darn nice in my eyes......great work on that GTO.........the Ace....

good point, Brett, however keep in mind that if some of these were again on the shelves at your LHS, they would be at a price point that most could afford, unlike the insane money that even junky, started early example's bring on ebay. I really think newly issued combo's would sell like mad if priced correctly, merchandised correctly, and included ton's of goodie's. for example, have matching tinted glass for both tow car and race car, all the new tire's, etc, and a giant decal sheet including original art, but also lot's of new design's and drag name's, shop's, etc.....think they would be killer......the Ace....
-
well, Paul, I've been saying the same for years....sooooo, think about the easy combo's they could reissue....the 68 Shelby drag team is easily done with a bit of tweaking,,,,the Cal Combo 65 Falcon/ Galaxie set is a given,,,,and this Indy awb Chevy set can easily be done using a 65 El Camino, or 65 Chevelle wagon.....the 65 El Camino hasn't been around in awhile, so Round2 could do the drag team set with the smaller rear cap cover, then later reissue the kit with the full camper in it's original box art....it's a win-win for everybody....a 66 Nova wagon would be outstanding, but I'd settle for anything mentioned above......NOTE...JOHN G. AT ROUND2...READ PAUL'S COMMENT AND THIS TOO, PLEASE.....the Ace....

.......and I agree, said the same years ago, and IF we get this set at one point, the wagon or camino is probably what to expect....the Ace...

1969 Nova SS* Blue* Interior ...
AC Norton replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
the Tamiya light met. blue spray, then sprayed with their semi gloss will work, I have seen it on some builds thru the last few years and it looked pretty nice. the Testors one coat spray of Icey Blue is a bit lighter, but has large metallic flakes as you know, but, it also can be used with a shot of dullcoat after, then a hit of semi gloss spray, dried, then the following day lightly buffed with a small cloth ......by spraying both of the said dullcoat and semi gloss, then light buffing, that usually tones down the appearance of the large met. flecks.....either way should be close....the Ace.... -
looks outstanding.....both you and Sinatra doing it.......YOUR way....lol.............the Ace...
-
yes, the correct color is Hemi Orange, and Testors Model Master brush and spray are both made.....if that's more difficult to find in the U.K., then some of the Humbrol gloss orange paints can be blended with a touch of red and such, and after playing around a bit, you will have something very close......good luck, best,...the Ace....

the kit that had the record was the annual AMT 68 SHELBY GT500, that was released in late '68 ......the artwork showed a green car on the box parked in front of an office or apartment building. I received it as a gift amongst several muscle car kits that xmas, and just loved it. that first issue was the only one to include the record, and the printed picture on the record was actually of a 67 Shelby.....one of my all time most memorable xmas's, and a favorite kit of mine to this day.......the Ace...... -
1967-68 Barracuda Interior glass
AC Norton replied to JPolli's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
.....at present, there seems to be no glass piece on ebay, but checking completed items, one was sold recently for about 3 bucks....are you in a real hurry to get one, in the midst of a build , or just needing one to complete a kit.....I ask because certainly one will turn up on ebay soon.....the dealer I would contact is Matt from MODEL CAR MOUNTAIN who always has loads of kits, parts, etc listed constantly. I bought cuda parts from him last summer, and I'd bet he has glass for one......his phone number is 540 290 4150,,,,or email him at modelcarmountain@yahoo.com hope this helps, if he presently can't help you, I will ask around town here of my guys and see if we can come up with one. I know what it's like when you need, or just want parts for a car and just can't find them....the good news for you is the current 69 Cuda has exactly what you need, and they are common and can be bought everywhere......the Ace... -

no problem, my friend....I don't have any extra glass, but I'll bet finding one cheap online won't prove difficult. many sellers part out kit's as you know, I'm on ebay constantly and if you don't have luck here on the forum, I will check for you later this weekend and see if I find one online and let you know.... the Ace..... -
boy, do I like that.....a killer project, Anthony, as I myself have various MPC mid 70s Vette's to build.....very slick, love the concept....the Ace....
