  1. .......thanks for posting all this, Brett.......the Ace...
  2. ............have them in stock to ship...the Ace....
  3. ..color combo here is sweet....you just deceided for me how to trim mine...lol..........nice work,,,the Ace....
  4. ....I have used a hair dryer to help with this problem in the past,,,,on the low to medium setting, direct the air between the sheet and the decals, working very slowly to get them apart....this is not a guaranteed win, but I have had success in the past....best of luck,,,the Ace....
  5. ...........Just thought I would mention that an ebay seller has just listed the new reissues of the VW superbug gasser and 57 Ford some of us were waiting for.....chance's are more seller's will have their supply in the next day or two as well..........thought I'd just mention for those interested......the Ace......
  6. I second that emotion, says Smokey, and the Ace.....Easy Off HD rarely let's you down, and like the Snake, used it for year's......the Ace...
  7. .........my favorite's as you mention were the small cube Modified Production and Gas class Corvette's from the 70's era....Ault and James, Larry Kopp, Checkmate, and on and on......some of the most exciting and wild round's that I ever witnessed....love 'em all.......the Ace....
  8. wow, did not notice that......the Ace...
  9. if it's Tamiya white, just spray a blast into the lid, or whatever you like, stir that little wad of paint for a moment, let the paint sit for 3 or 4 minutes, stir again, then using a detail brush, gently 'dot' the spot to be fixed. If a bit more is required, stir the wad again, making sure it is not getting too thick, and dot again until happy. I have touched up Tamiya spray this way many time's thru the year's and white is the easiest to work with....hope this help's....the Ace....
  10. I agree.....a single carb tunnel ram on a killer 289-302 with the right combo would be a very hi-revving little engine. Those small block Ford's can, and do rev stupid rpms just like a SBC.....my friend has a 70 Boss 302 and I have been in the car several times over the year's and seen the Sun tach hit 7000 and it's stock with header's and some tuning......even my '92 5 litre Mustang with some bolt on's and 4.10 gears back in the mid 90s went thru at just over 6000 and other friend's with lots more than I had were turning 7800-8200 with fuelie's...........the Ace......
  11. David, those Gremlin kit's can usually be bought quite reasonable on ebay, 75 or the 76 version. As for slick's,,, the pair in the AMT 36 FORD would probably work....they seem to be just the right size for a wheel opening as the Comet has....but many different type's may do here.....even the MH pie crust slick's may do it........the Ace.........just checked ebay....there is a new mib 76 Gremlin on at 12 bucks, or best offer....THATS a great deal....item number is 122398637338.....I always hate seeing someone pay too much...lol............the Ace..
  12. yup, Dennis,,, I just thought that working over the Gremlin piece would keep it inexpensive and easy to accomplish. I would bet that grabbing one off the forum from guy's who built their car stock will be painless too......the piece you suggest is very nice by comparison, although I bet buying a Gremlin kit may prove a better deal all round, as then you would have slicks, Cragar's, decals,,etc as bonus for later builds....just a thought.....the Ace....
  13. .......the MPC/ ROUND2 75 DART SPORT has a nice set of M/T cheater slicks that should fit nicely, and be correct for that late 60s to mid 70s era,,,,and as for tunnel rams, the one offered in the AMT 75 and 76 GREMLIN kit's is very generic, and easily workable to use on several brands of small block's. The 2 carb's supplied are ok, but a better set of Holley's and a bit of tweaking would be the way to go....just a couple idea's here.....nice project ,,,,,,,the Ace.......oh, the use of a tear drop scoop would still suit the era too, as they were still being used by some guy's on M/P car's even at that point....
  14. ...........Are the bug gasser or 57 Ford kit's out at the LHS's as of yet.....thanks,,,,,the Ace....
  15. ........and fun, easy builds are just that, loads of fun........your two look just great, and they inspire me to finally buy that kit...lol.........nice builds.....the Ace...........
  16. just killer....plain, but so clean and tough.....love it.......the Ace....
  17. nice work, there, Bill.....I admire your devotion...you have six built car's on one table, that's more than I've built in six year's...lol.......the Ace....
  18. ......very fresh and different approach on this build....both strip/ and show car...I like that. I myself have been working on this same kit off and on for quite sometime, but as usual for me these days, one build ends up being overshadowed by the other,,,lol..........and I had to correct several area's of this kit that are pretty lax, as you did also. Nice to see one built the way you have, using mostly kit part's, but upgrading everything so nicely......you mention possibly changing exhaust component's that you aren't pleased with on your car,,,,, a set of shorter glass pack's would do the job here,,, both the latest issue AMT 70 Impala and the new MPC 69 Barracuda contain very nice set's,,,,just a thought... thanks for sharing with us, maybe I'll get back to my Gremlin now,,, well, just maybe..lol..lol...........the Ace...
  19. so true, the bodies here leave a LOT to be desired, and fixing one is more work and grief than most, including myself, want to encounter. The GTX is just as bad as the RR , and the grille is way off ..... regardless, they are still great Mopars that look good with a bit of work. my 2 cents.....the Ace...
  20. that's a very special and very nice way for you people to remember him.....the car look's great, and your brother in law knows it's in the best hand's now.....best regards, the Ace....
  21. I have the AMT 69 GTX showing a stock gold car build on the box.....the hood and all else is correct 69 for parts, with a 440 and a hemi loaded with goodies ......molded in gray plastic.....remember, the Johan 69 GTX has a much better, more authentic grille shell than the AMT.....and in general the body overall give's the nod to Johan ......the rear wheel well opening's are too small on both AMT 68 RR and 69 GTX, compared to the Johan bodies as well.....I also know the 68 RR I built last year had to have the hood shimmed with plastic on both side's as it is too narrow and fit's poorly without work. I'm not sure if the proper 69 air grabber hood has the same problem like in the GTX as mentioned. I have an extra new 68 RR hood if you need one to play around with....best I can recall at this time, Richard........the Ace....
  22. actually, Brett,,,,that prompts me to ask a question to you pertaining to sale's and such......I have no doubt this kit would not be a great seller, but going by your sale's and all, what would you say has been, or is the strongest selling Round2 piece of the drag/ muscle car 1/25 scale kit's......thanks, the Ace....
  23. yes, and they are great about sending replacements, but not concerned about all this.....strange, when decals and mailing are costly.....thanks Nick, the Ace...
  24. hello to all,,,, lately I have had problem's with some of newer issue Round2 decal sheets.....that is to say, when some are removed from the sealed bag they are packed in, the yellow backing paper is stuck to the sheet in some case's, thus pulling the coating from some image's and leaving chip's or ' pock' mark's on most decal's.. ..I find that it happens when you open a kit that may have been in stock for a period of time, where brand new issue's that are opened and checked seem to be just fine. It seems the longer the sheet is sealed in the cello, with the backing paper pressed into it, with the weight of the content's of the entire kit on top, the worse they get as time goes on. I bought the new 49 Ford when first release, and the sheet is great,,,but just this weekend bought and opened two new kit's of the 63 Corvette, and 37 Chevy gasser, and both sheet's have the damage mentioned. I also opened my second awb 65 Mustang that has been around here for a couple of year's, and when removed from the cello bag the decal's were stuck to the backing paper causing damage once again. In checking other kit's that were released WITHOUT the plastic cello bag on the decal's, all of mine are just perfect.... I have had this happen now a few time's.... have any of you had the same dilemma......the Ace....
  25. I use the white all the time, and never have had problem's with it, but, as stated, for small job's only. I never do heavy body work or sculpting as my build's never call for it, and that's all I can throw in....the Ace...
