New! Improved! '69 Charger Glue Bomb Resto/Rescue New Pics 2/12
AC Norton replied to Snake45's topic in Model Cars
......Ya' know, a couple hours more work could turn yet another corner here....personally, I don't restore or 'fix up' builds of other's, but in the case of your Charger here, I would ditch those rear rims, they are horrible IMO, and pop on matching Keystone's so all 4 corner's look just boss,,, and totally of the era. Secondly, a quick blast of flat black on the area's that still expose the orange plastic could be done by popping it apart again, and maybe a quick dusting of flat black spray on the complete interior....then upon it drying, buff with a clean cloth to give the dash and seats that sheen appearance. Finally, you always seem to be a modeler that jump's right in on fix-and- repair, so mix up some hand paint that closely matches the car, and take a detail brush, filling in the door and trunk lines, and gently touch up the high spots on the body where the orange plastic has been rubbed off and is exposed....top it off by installing a nice decal of your liking on the rear plate, and your there.....bet all this is a one-two hour upgrade at best....just a thought....the Ace... -
.......Thanks, Scott....appreciate the info.....regards, Ace..

Scott, could you tell us what color is used on the tinted glass for this issue...thanks, Ace..

......Would you know how I can get in touch with Auntie,,,,,phone number, email address, Facebook , whatever......many thanks....lol...the Ace..

.....Don't worry on that note, David....no doubt Ebayers will soon be parting out these kit's and I'll bet you see all the part's and decal sheet's up for grab's within a month or so.....the Ace...

........Glad to see this review with pics....much as I am an avid Round2 AMT fan, this isn't really worth the money unless someone is in need of both kits included,,,, and other than for the pretty box and decals, that's about it......... the Ace..

...It ran Motor Wheel Fly's, as I recall, but thru the years from day one, probably other makes too....the Ace...

Hello boys, and especially to you Skyline / tuner experts.....I have recently been working on a couple of Japanese sports car kits, a bit of a departure for me, and have come across a puzzling question ..... Aoshima kit no.46, 1971 Skyline GT GC10 that was recently reissued some months back is just loaded with lots of goodies and extra parts galore, and one of the white parts trees indicates the 'GT section' for the suggested kit build , plus a 'GT-R' parts section nicely included as well,,,, but in between all those parts is a very nice mesh style grill with angled lenses, and a neat tail light rear panel sporting 3 clear lenses per side.....question is, in searching photos and details about the actual cars, I have yet to see that tail panel on any 1-1 car...the grill mentioned, of course seems fairly common for race car use and street tuner use as well....but ,can anybody fill me in on that tri-lamp tail panel I mention.... just unsure if it was used on a certain year of similar Skylines of that era, or its a custom option....oh, sorry but I can't post photos of the parts as I presently have no camera......thanks in advance, gents.....the Ace...

Round 2 November 2017 Product Spotlight
AC Norton replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
.........I agree , maybe on the Gremlin .....as for the Cobra team, I think waiting it out for a few months will be the ticket because all this stuff gets blown out cheaper in time.....patience is the answer for all these so called 'hot' new releases.....older I get, the cheaper I get too...lol.......the Ace... -
AMT 57 Chevy Bel Air Review Needed
AC Norton replied to CEKPETHO BCE's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
......Funny you mention your sealed original....many times I've been so tempted to grab a mint one on Ebay when they show, but for some strange but good reason I always passed,,,,and now with this reissue coming I'm glad I did, because I'll bet if you crack the cello on yours and do that comparison you speak of that the new kit will outweigh the oldie in many aspects,,,tires, decals, perfect chrome, and the tinted glass just to mention some factors.....regardless, it will be interesting to compare them both for certain.......the Ace.. -
Hey Christian, just now noticed your posting,,,,,well, I'm shocked at your retail price comment...really, if I can't get tins of Campbell's soup for not 1 cent more than .29 cents, well, I just WILL NOT eat that day....now way,,,, and if I actually have to PAY for gasoline to drive my SUV, well, I will push it around for the week until I see it back to 1980 prices. As for kits, well, unless I can get a collection of mint, vintage, sealed, flawless items for no more than 2 bucks a kit, and shipped to my door overnight express free,,,,well, WHO would possibly buy the guy out, right,,,,lol.... ...thanks for your comments, my friend, always enjoy them so much....best, the one, the only, the would never-pay-retail Ace....

...totally agree, Scott....I have the last issue yet to be built, and one is plenty for me.....much as I am a big Round2 fan all the way, not sure if this one is the best choice to be popped out....again,,,, and again...,,,,,,,,,the Ace.....

....Thanks for that info, and free shipping is the best shipping price too...lol....the Ace...

Hey Mike, glad to throw in here....I was excited about some of the info and sure happy to pass it on....best, the Ace...

I agree on that, Round2 website shows the box art, just like the original....can't wait....the Ace...

......Just thought I'd pass on some info I just received today regarding some Round2 releases.....the MPC 1975 DATSUN PICKUP is apparently out right now, yet I see none for sale on Ebay currently,,,the AMT 57 CHEVY PEPPER SHAKER and COBRA-TRUCK- TRAILER RACE TEAM set are due out in December to give us a nice Christmas rush, and the 1974 GREMLIN X is hitting the shelves in around 3 weeks. Now, the not so good news concerns the long awaited USA 1 VEGA PRO STOCK......according to the detailed email I got from Doug at Round2 it says that it has been pulled off lists and will be reassigned a new item number once the project gets some wings. Time, developing expenses, and other factors have pushed this project back to an undetermined status for possible release. However, Doug says it is going to fly at some point in the future, and by the sounds of it back tracking out of the MON-ZEGA mess as the Twister Vega was, could mean its well worth the wait if the car gets some corrections and improvements ......lets face it, once released at any point, this car could be built and decaled into more different pro Vegas than can be imagined, ROUND2 themselves could easily release it as a Grumpy Jenkins car, and even their old AMERICAN SPIRIT VEGA to mention a few.....the decal designers could have a field day....that's it, and all the news fit to print...lol............the Ace...

Well, if its Round2's ebay account, could that mean they have finished using this kit for reference and such, and a reissue is coming....conv, hardtop, whatever...would be exciting with todays upgrades in the big artwork box....as I recall MPC early full size Pontiacs were issued just as annuals, but I could be incorrect on that one...lets hope...the Ace.......oh, I know that you are well informed about Round2 releases, Casey,,,,any word on dates for the 74 Gremlin, 75 Datsun p/u, Cobra race team, and that USA 1 Vega.....thanks..

Yup, the trailer is the winner item here, Andy.....wait just a couple of months and I bet ebayers will be selling the trailers for 4 or 5 bucks.....lol........the Ace.....oh,,, there is one other note regarding this Fireball kit...if someone wants a quick fix to any MPC 69 Barracuda with the exhaust deleted on the chassis to build a drag car, this kit will suffice for that, as well as having a so-so at best cross ram hemi that could be useful being that the 69 Cuda kits in the last many issues contain the 383 mill.....but if one uses all the included hemi gear the 69 Cuda has, except that hemi cylinder heads are void in it,,,then bashing parts will create your super/stocker deal using some Cuda and some Fireball parts. This in no way is as nice a set up as some other chassis and engine combos bashing other kits are for the Cuda, but for a fun, quick, and inexpensive shelf car build, it will pass....just a thought....the Ace...
-
....Not a great idea of another reissue of a very common kit....much as I am a Round2 fan, I can't see this being a real winner....again...just my 2 cents...the Ace...

WHERE TO BUY SHARPIES IN CANADA......
AC Norton replied to AC Norton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
OK, I will check the joints you mention, hoping here the stores have the same as U.S. stores,,, but I doubt it. Is there a particular tip or style stated on the pack that I should get, as I guess there are different sizes....and, just how precise are these at trimming a model, that is to say if you need to do fine trim, moldings, whatever, without ending up with some to wipe off if necessary.....the Ace...- 13 replies
