  1. The ones from Hobby Design seem to the be nicest/cleanest, but they are only positioned one way. if you want RH/LH turbos, i have bought some from TDR Innovations on shapeways in multiple sizes. They are very nice. So far those are my favorite two, but there are plenty more out there.
  2. what I do right now to cut circles is take various diameter of aluminum tube and run a razor blade on the inside of it, then follow with sandpaper. I essentially sharpen the end of the tube, then press and spin it on thin plastic and BMF to cut out perfect circles.
  3. I like Scale Motorsports decals. They have several versions, including yellow Kevlar.
  4. Alclad Pale Gold would be a good one to use. Titanium Gold, like the others have said, is not a dominantly gold color.
  5. Doesn't get used as much as it should, but it's a good thing when I can stay busy with work.
  6. I never understood the insanity around these movies. I have never been able to sit through an entire Star Wars movie.
  7. Not even close. They don't waste their time with the lame people. The worst singers that get booted off are better than most, or all the singers on American Idol. It's a pretty legit show. It shows them getting training from their coaches and guest coaches. No drama.
  8. I just sent out a stack of checks for nearly $10k to vendors (unrelated industry) on 11/24. I had a few calling wondering where their money was. I walked to to the curb and handed the envelopes to the mail carrier and asked if it was okay if I gave them to him. I ran out when he was in front of my neighbor's house because I forgot to put them in the box. He took them from me and said no problem. They have since vanished. It cost me over $100 in fees to cancel the checks, not to mention I am way past my 30 day terms with some of my distributors. I rarely have issues with USPS, but when I do it's at the worst possible time.
  9. That's already been scrapped as far as I know. Also, from what I heard the last two weeks, the Chargers are done in SD and likely moving to LA.
  10. I was in the field for almost a decade. Several years ago, I started a company with a partner as a side project. The end of this month will mark 1 year since I left my dad's company, where I had a guaranteed check every month, to pursue our side project full time. Revenue has increased 65% this year, but nowhere near enough for me to make a living off of. I only sell premium quality materials, which are much harder to move due to the higher cost. Things are just now starting t catch on and snowball. My garage is my warehouse, a bedroom was turned into an office. Hopefully, in Jan 2016 I will be bale to get my first building. Our biggest competitor nationwide is less than 2 hours away and has a lot of marketing capital. We are slowly starting to convert some of their customers. In the long run, it will work, but I am never off the clock. Social media has been a huge resource, but it only works if you are available immediately. I don't always put in 8-10 consecutive hours, but I make myself available around the clock. My model building time, which was around 9-10pm an later, has now been taken up by website editing, talking with resources overseas, etc. Owning your own business is not for the faint of heart. I'm lucky my wife makes a good living during the season, but for the summer months we barely scrape by. Now I have a 2 year old and I have to try and figure out how to double our revenue this next year. I went from 60 hours a week on salary to 60+ hours a week for almost nothing. I think I took $10k out this entire year.
  11. There are people out there that really struggle with identity crisis, and a lot of legitimate cases of men transitioning to women, and women transitioning to men. It's a serious decision some people have to live with. There is a time and a place to be more accepting, but it has gone completely out of control with the social justice warriors in the last 5-10 years that nobody can take it seriously anymore.
  12. The one time my order took longer than normal, he more than made up for it. I usually receive the paint within 2 weeks, but can easily see it taking a little longer if he gets backed up, or is changing systems, etc. Sometimes he takes a little while to get back via email, but communication is always good. He's one of those guys that I would always feel confident in ordering from, and I would rather wait than take a chance on someone else. I started using him when Zero became unavailable in the US. Now that I can get it again, I honestly have no desire to go back, I am very happy with Scale Finishes
  13. Yeah I actually stocked up on multiples of every o ring they have available, just in case. I think mine sat in the case at the LHS for so long, and we're in a desert climate, they just dried out before they were ever used. Mine has been fine since as well.
  14. I have the Tritium TG and the compressor. One ongoing problem for me was the packing seal o-ring, which is a very obscure part, and not shown in their teardown video, was dried up and cracked. This caused the paint to leak on my hands at the trigger area. This is also very touchy when installing a new one, as the tighter you turn the packing screw, the more it squished the o-ring, making the hole for the needle to pass through smaller. You want to very gently turn it until it stops, then lube the hell out of it with airbrush lube. Once you get that all settled, it's an incredible airbrush. The compressor is quiet. I didn't have much experience with airbrushes before I bought it, so I was having a lot of trouble finding the right pressures. I ended up buying the thumbscrew air adjustment that fits right below the handle and it has made a huge difference for me. Their customer service was also great the couple of times I needed help. i would highly recommend it.
  15. I'm a little late here, but there is a hobby shop called Tony's Hobbies in CIty of Industry. Not exactly LA, but worth the 20-30 minute drive. I have never seen so many models in one place before.
  16. The MFH are out of my price range, however if this turns out to be a 427 Cobra, I might have to make it work somehow. I would love for them to make a GT40 or Grand Sport Corvette.
  17. The speculation so far is either Cobra Daytona or 427 Cobra. Some have suggested even a Grand Sport. This is pretty exciting http://www.modelfactoryhiro.com/new/en/archives/18022
  18. Even though I think these people are borderline retarded, I am always intrigued by their serious arguments for this type of stuff. I listened to the whole thing while playing GTA V. It really is bizarre that people believe this and take it seriously. All of the points in the video are absolutely absurd. the one thing that stood out is the fact they argue we have never been past a certain point in space, yet someone supposedly build this massive dome, which ends in space. I dunno, i think I might be dumber after watching all of that.
  19. I was trying to figure out what made it pop so much, and it's the lights. It looks 10x better with the lenses set back inside the housing.
  20. incredibly well done and clean. Would you mind sharing how you did the grill? Looks like Alclad with a wash in between?
  21. Incredible looking car. I love Mustangs, but this looks better than any Mustang, IMO.
  22. The guy had talent, but made the ugliest freaking cars and wheels.
  23. 68 Hemi Dart 1/12 57 Chevy 67 Chevelle Ferrari F40 Nissan R390GT1
