  1. the manual trans is dying. it won't be long before they aren't even an option anymore
  2. for everyone saying these types of cars aren't ready for the road, do a little digging and find out what the crash/mileage ratio is. So far, Tesla's autopilot is doing about 20% better than human drivers per mile. Tesla said that the white truck against a bright sky went unnoticed to the car and it wasn't apply the brakes. The automatic emergency braking system is not meant to hit the brakes for things flying across your path like that, it is designed to monitor and detect laterally moving objects in front of you, like someone cutting into your lane. also, this is a driver assist feature, not a driver act like a complete retard feature.
  3. I have had the best results with Alclad by doing an incredibly light mist at the most severe angle possible, as parallel you can get with the piece. I end up doing probably 20 passes over each part, but with only a tiny bit coming out each time. You don't need super duper low PSI, but you can't have it too high either or it will just dust up. I go by look and feel now, and don't pay attention to the actual PSI as much.
  4. they don't really drive it. They fire it up for shows and stuff, but it's not a functioning build in the sense you can drive it around
  5. I haven't seen your posts and I am not going to read all the comments here, but you don't owe anyone an apology. There is no model law that states photos must be done a certain way. There have been plenty of photo shopped and manipulated model photos that I have seen posted here over the years that have been praised. If people are whining, get them a tissue and tell them to take a hike. Freaking babies.
  6. I have never heard of these. Those look good too.
  7. this isn't even the hottest it, got, it hit 124 for a bit on Monday

  9. why does that matter? completely different types of cars. It finished 18th overall, behind all the LMP1 and LMP2 cars. Not even in the same ballpark
  10. I bought the Top Studio PE weld lines to try a while back and haven't had anything to use them on until now. I just started the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 with the SMS PE set. There is a cup holder included in the detail set and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try these. I was skeptical of the potential realism at first, but I am very happy with them. They are super thin, so you can easily bend them around any surface, and they don't stick up to make them look unrealistic. Hard to get them in the pic, they are so small. Here are the pieces. The PE bracket from the set, aluminum tube stock, and a couple of trimmed pieces of the weld line This was very trick to do, as I had to apply everything on a contoured surface without getting glue everywhere. This is the first time that base with the alligator clips came in handy. Tiny So for those of you that are looking to add detail to your custom cars, this would definitely be the way to go.
  11. I got a bunch of stuff recently, including 2 different NSX GT photo etch sets from Crazy Modeler, Hobby Design air intake sets, Studio 27 Nissan R89C detail set, but this is the stuff I was excited for.
  12. This is turning out really nicely. I have always been bummed that the Enzo or LaFerrari has never been appealing to me. Incredible machines, but I have no love for them. On the bright side, it has saved me a ton of money in buying kits and detail sets. This one does look awesome though and I have a feeling I will end up getting it once more detail stuff comes out.
  13. Rear wheels are not glued on yet, but this is the stance. I don't like it that much, but I measured wrong. Doesn't look bad, but I would prefer it leveled out
  14. not sure what happened to the last pics, but I managed to get some more done. I am on the home stretch. I got the glass installed, finally finished the center console and got the body glued to the chassis. All that I have left are the bumpers, engine bay details and mirrors and door handles. I started another project already, I have a habit of rushing things at the very end, so I figured I would put it a way for a bit, then revisit when I can focus on the last few bits Dry brushed on some Metallizer alumnium finished side markers
  15. my dog chewed up my Ferrari 360 engine assembly after it was all put together.
  16. This looks rad http://www.meng-model.com/new.php?id=603
  17. This turned out very well. I think you put the intake trumpet screens on in the wrong order. Some are taller than others, to follow the height of the stacks.
  18. I kind of floated over here after BMC was shut down. Escale just never had the right feel for me, although it seemed like a really nice place
  19. I remember having the Avanti kit when I was a kid and all these parts were in that kit as well.
  20. I just saw that MCG has some PE calipers. I am having a hard time picturing the finished product. Has anyone worked with these yet? I love MCG stuff, but I hate that they don't show assembled pics of their miscellaneous stuff. https://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=436&idcategory=
  21. That turned out great
  22. Plum Island by Nelson DeMille. I read The Lion's Game in high school. He's my 3rd cousin twice removed or something like that. Never met him, but some of my family has talked to him. I decided to start at the beginning of the John Corey books, which are his main character series. If you like police detective/terrorist/dark humor action type of stuff, you will like these books.
