  1. Slick build!
  2. Very nice!
  3. Saw this a few weekends ago at a local coffee and cars event... it was very basic
  4. It's a beautiful build!
  5. It's a stunner, love the car, the paint is excellent and the photos are brilliant!
  6. Wow, the perseverance! It's a class finish each time you've done it. Hopefully, this one holds out...
  7. Fantastic progress, and superb photos...
  8. Love this build, it's a cool project and you have amazing 3d printing skills!
  9. It's a cool project! I'll certainly be following, it's looking great so far
  10. Thank you all for the interest. Minor update, the chrome (Alclad II) has rubbed off the engine from all the handling, so I've masked with bits of paper & given them a re-spray. Was a bit fiddley, but it worked.
  11. If you go back to the begining of the thread, you'll see the mess I made of the interior by removing the seats - I definately regret it now, but managed to start repairing the 2 holes either side of the centre transmission tunnel.
  12. I forgot to paint this bit of the rear underbody in the body colour, so I have to mask, spray a few coats of Zero grey, Pagini red, smoke and clear. I used Zero 1K thinned with Mr Color Levelling thinner. it's turned out OK, not perfect edges, but it'll be ok I've also drilled out the exhaust pipe holes, I'll be using a bit of alu tube.
  13. I ended up burning through the paint to clear this bit of mega dust, so I have masked & resprayed with Acrylic Gun metal grey, and next up is clear coat - I will do this at the same time as I do the body shell for the MX5
  14. Wow, beautiful finish on the paint! Is this acrylic clear blue, or TS from a can?
  15. And this is what the roof looks like after: Tamiya 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000 then cloth paper 3200, 3600, 4000 then Nuvos polish level 3 & 2... lots of effort, but it looks good in the end, and only slightly the pitting can be seen
  16. And you can see how much pitting there is on the bonnet after using Tamiya 1000 grit paper, it've quite bad!
  17. And I cannot believe this bit of fluff in the paint, hopefully it'll sand out...
  18. this is a view of some of the deep pitting
  19. I've clear coated this body now with Zero 2K. But didn't use Mr color thinner (with a retarder) so its quite bumpy/orange pealy. But annoyingly, it got lots of pitting. I'm assuming its because I've either put too muh thinner in, or I went too heavy too quickly. Either way, my strategy is not to respray, I'm sanding through it. It's not going to be perfect, but perfection is not what I'm looking for...
  20. Yes, I think I'll try to print one of those!
  21. Dann, I've missed a lot of progreso on this, but just caught up, it's looking amazing, but really sorry to hear about your friend's stage 4. All the best!
  22. Thanks, I'll give that a go!
  23. Hi Rick, on ebay many years ago from China, I don't think it was expensive, but it took weeks to arrive!
  24. Super sharp build, perfect paint job too!
  25. It looks great! One of my favourite colours too!
