  1. My brother had the privilege of meeting Jamie Lee - he said she had a handshake like a vise! Ron, you need a hint? OK. "Honey Dew".
  2. Steve, I still have that extra Moebius '61 body, floor and frame you gave me years ago to compare to the AMT Bonneville - if it'll help I'll send it back (you could use it to extend a second Moebius chassis).
  3. Thanks Gary and Matt! What year does the kit depict? This is the one I want to build: IMCDb lists it as a '65 with an earlier short nose. Ferrari experts please chime in...?
  4. "Look, you say one more mean thing about my car, you can get out and walk! She is tuned up, she's just - temperamental!"
  5. Anyone have a good shot of the decal sheet? Looks like some dash or emblem decals?
  6. Went by Deerfield today - manager said they won't know till the truck comes Friday.
  7. Tom P. mentioned some stuff being on sale in the new store in Niles around last Friday ('23 T panel truck IIRC). Anyone else have an update?
  8. I don't have a good steering wheel but this is the dash: Test fit in a '59 DeSoto body.
  9. The supercharged Y-block (from the '63 Ford pickup) showed up in perfect shape, and the correct drive belt was included. And a few minutes ago, I replaced another childhood promo, this time a red '63 Bonneville friction: Like the '67 Chrysler 300 vert, it was cheap(ish) and has some issues - in this case kit wheels/tires in the rear and a kludged left taillight. My '63 convertible kit has the same issue , so if anyone has a good rear bumper and left lens I can make a mold from...
  10. Ooooeee, what a magnificent job!
  11. So much effort, so well rewarded! Bravo Shawn.
  12. Anyone have a builtup Italeri 275 GTB they'd like to show us?
  13. Several years ago I had the idea of a sequel with Jeanne Moreau, Shirley Maclaine and Omar Sharif meeting each other years afterward at a concours where the car was displayed, or perhaps at an auction where it was to be sold; too bad two of them are gone now.
  14. They did this last February - there are definitely some kits I'm hoping will be clearanced this time! Keep us posted...
  15. You weren't alone with that idea - you just brought back a 50-some-year-old childhood memory of being out in the country with my dad and seeing a black-over-silver '64 Bonneville on chrome reverses, with a badly-battered driver's side quarter and OUCH spraypainted across it.
  16. Time to put this one to bed; kinda surprised nobody got it: Lee Marvin - Point Blank 577 (minus one) = 1967 Imperial convertible production total. If anyone wants to tackle this as a movie car build before I do, here's the license plate (visible in a couple frames on a big screen):
  17. Got some very useful bits yesterday - pedals and mirrors from the Jo-Han '70 Caddy, plus all the custom/rally stuff from the AMT '64 Falcon vert: The '64 Coupe deVille project will get the mirrors.
  18. I have a gluebomb '59 in the pipeline to customize; looks like the PO was thinking along those lines: I was thinking of frenching in a set of the custom taillight lenses from the old AMT '57 Chevy.
  19. I didn't see him there last month but he was there last fall; I finally broke down and bought a '56 Pontiac from him - never know when it might be my last chance.
  20. Got the windshield frame fixed OK; had to glue one end at a time and tape it down very carefully so it held. While doing so I also slid a piece of a clear vinyl bag over the windshield to prevent fogging. Just need to find some matching dark green stock to make the vent window posts - I'd cut a couple pieces from under the chassis like I did for another Jo-Han promo but this thing is too brittle to chance trying to get the chassis rivets out. Now to try to cast a hood ornament!
  21. IMCDb page for Roma: http://imcdb.org/movie_6155172-Roma.html
  22. Now let's discuss the sculpting on the quarter panel:
  23. Just in case anyone can't see Ron's Photobucket image:
  24. The trailer/Coronet wheel covers have the correct shape, but no center emblem (fratzog). The Jo-Han '64s have the emblem but are flat in profile (a problem they had on many kits). I ended up carving the emblems off the Jo-Han covers and adding them to the trailer ones, which is something I'd rather not do again .
