eBay Scammer Afoot!

Reported. Is anyone else reporting these? -
What did you see on the road today?

Wow. I'd save those cool "STOP" flashers above the windshield of that school bus if the lenses are OK. Too bad the FC Jeeps are all eaten up. Mark, are you a member of the H.A.M.B.? I'd like to post a couple of those to their "Sitting and Rotting" thread with your permission. -
eBay Scammer Afoot!

I messaged both the previous seller (he responded that he'd heard from many people about it) and eBay early this morning; the listing has been pulled. -

Friday evening I was VERY surprised to see a sharp-looking replica of the American Graffiti '32 Ford heading north on Waukegan Road in Glenview crossing Lake Avenue; no time for a photo but it looked very accurate. -
While hunting for old ads in the 1961 Raton, NM high school yearbook, I came across this page: A lot of difference for three stations in the same town. Now for the fun part. Check out the ad signs in the last photo for the now-legendary and VERY expensive 1/25 scale Buddy L Texaco station for only $3.50 - and there's a built example of the kit visible in the window between the second and third pumps!

On the two-part Bondo in the tube, what's the ratio of hardener to putty when you're only mixing a very small amount (about the size of a jelly bean)?

Shoot, that's been going on forever. Somebody tried to sell Clark Gable some of his wife Carole Lombard's jewelry they picked up when her plane crashed in 1942. Knute Rockne's plane crash in 1931 was similarly souvenired: (University of Notre Dame Archives)

Jeff or Kevin, any news on the Renault Dauphine? I need glass and a rear bumper.

#774-A Then convert the chopped top to stock height and add a back window to have a running start on a '51 Victoria!

While looking at expensive-as-usual late '60s Falcons on eBay, I discovered this live auction coming up: http://www.ebay.com/clt/collectibles-live-events/incredible-vintage-promo-car-and-model-kit-collection-607879 Plenty of good stuff here; and the opening bids are only $5.00. The collection is in Fowler, Indiana - anyone know who the collector is/was? The photos alone are worth checking out, although the descriptions use that annoying word "minty" so many times you want to leave a wad of Wrigley's Doublemint on the writer's keyboard. Happy bidding!

The Revell '62 Plymouth wheel covers arrived today, and thanks to the generosity of Geno, so did this: Franklin Mint '60 Falcon engine, left over from Geno's awesome Copperhead gasser project. This will be going into my Jimmy Flintstone Econoline; a few tweaks and some filler and paint to hide the screw head, and we're good to go. If you want to compare it in size to the resin engines available, this one is 2 1/16" from the fan hub to the end of the tailshaft, and 1 3/16" from the top of the air cleaner to the bottom of the oil pan. The top of the bellhousing is not molded but it will only be visible from the bottom. And I don't have to wire it!

I notice the wire wheels in the AMT '65 Riviera and Silhouette kits look very similar in photos; do the outer halves interchange? The inner halves seem to have longer axle tubes on the Riviera, but are they otherwise the same? These are from the Riviera; I don't have a shot of the Silhouette wheels:

Once in a while it gets slow for me, but that could be my computer. It does sometimes have issues uploading GIFs.

Best 57 Ford
ChrisBcritter replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Let us know how that works out. I removed the exhaust from the '57 chassis for my '58; took some doing but not impossible (before grinding it off I back-filled the areas that would leave voids with Bondic). -
Revell probably considers that AMT already has the stock '29 market locked up with their roadster kit. AMT should still have the stock/street rod '29 woody/roadster pickup, if not the 2-door sedan body. AMT had about 50 years to tool a coupe body for the darn thing but didn't, and of course Round2 won't (wonder if the sedan mold exists??).

I received a PM asking me about using Flickr to post images; I posted a little tutorial in another thread a while back: Hope this helps - it's on Page 3 of the thread. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Got that same email a few minutes ago. Screw those SOBs. They're not getting a freaking dime from me. Fortunately most if not all of my images on this board are on Flickr. I used PB a lot for older posts on other forums, including on the H.A.M.B.; I'll just replace them if someone asks.
