  1. It'll build up easily enough; there is the issue with the incorrect ('64 Plymouth promo) interior. Here's a few shots of a damaged promo on eBay to give you an idea of what it should look like: Maybe you could get the promo, take the interior and part out the rest on eBay again?
  2. I remember when that happened, someone put an acidly-worded ad in Hemmings selling his restored '59 Dodge because he was POed about the merger. I still loved my Magnum...
  3. OK, just picked up a can of Spaz Stix at Chicagoland Hobbies (thanks to feretzrus for suggesting them!). Harry, how long do you let the Testor's black enamel dry before you hit it with the chrome? And do you spray it in mist coats at a low angle like you would with Alclad?
  4. Bringing this thread back - look what just turned up on eBay : 1962 Falcon XL wagon - and it's here in IL: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-FORD-FALCON-STATION-WAGON-PROMO-RED-AUSTRALIAN-RIGHT-HAND-DRIVE-RARE-/201632662880?hash=item2ef23e4560:g:z1QAAOSw0fhXjWK~ Quite a buzz to see one of these. Note the date has been removed from the rear bumper; also note the correct short quarter panels of the Aussie wagon. I wonder if this was mastered by AMT but not molded here, because it's still made of acetate even though AMT quit using that stuff a year earlier. Also note the glass is that same weird clear plastic Jo-Han used in its late '50s promos that, over time, would get all wrinkled on its surface - AMT never used that formula. Were there any Australian plastic toy companies back then that might have produced this promo using the American tooling? I wonder if those molds might still be down under someplace...
  5. This was probably meant for the AMT Fairlane and the old Revell '57 Ranchero based on the modified Country Squire, the Country Squire itself, plus the resin '57, '58 and '59 Country Sedan. The Ranchero emblems on the Falcon-based cars are much smaller than the ones seen on this fret, so possibly only the cow's head tailgate emblems would be usable on the '60-'61. There are nameplates and the hood shield emblem for the Revell '59 Skyliner as well.
  6. The Monogram 1932 Cadillac has what you're looking for: ...and the '31 Rolls Royce has a pair that are somewhat larger:
  7. Probably the folks at Revell don't expect a reissued '62 Chrysler to be a big enough seller to warrant much of an investment in new tooling. The wheels on those kits are a bit smaller than usual; I had to wrap strips of sheet plastic around the rims of my '62 Imperial to get standard AMT tires to fit them. Maybe they could modify the wheel tooling to fit some tires they already have?
  8. The proportions seem accurate, just needs some photoetch emblems. How's the chassis look?
  9. Porscheman to the rescue!
  10. How about this?
  11. The Danbury Mint '57 Dodge Sweptside has one, although it's 1/24.
  12. Very clean job - you were lucky to find a builder in such clean shape to start with. That's a kit I'd like to build some day.
  13. To me, the main problem is that the grille is extended out farther than it should be; it should be just barely in front of the headlights. IMCDb image from Honky Tonk Freeway: You did a nice job, Al! As a coupe, the Town Car did have somewhat odd proportions.
  14. Hmm. Harry, was it you who bought that Pocher Mercedes kit that was at the Salvation Army store in Morton Grove a year or so ago? Amen to that. Just finished putting the '57 Chrysler roof on my '59 DeSoto and it's a real rush to see a Fireflite two-door hardtop in scale at last. (And I bet you'll build a gorgeous '59 300 someday.)
  15. You're as sassy as a Cadillac See-ville.
  16. It's a stolen four-cylinder Ford coupé.
  17. Around $80 for a clean builtup Revell '57 Ford Country Squire, in the early 2000s. Has anyone tried fitting the back glass from the Del Rio kit into one of these?
  18. And PLEASE with a stock body and deck this time (so Round2 will reissue the AMT '27 touring ).
  19. That would be a major find for Round2 - and it was never turned into a funny car or Modified Stocker, so... or are you talking about a new tool from Moebius? If so, a Catalina/2+2 would be more likely (at first) since you must have a racing version to make a new tool viable nowadays. Yes, if the rust damage on the tool can be repaired (and if they open it up to put all the stock parts back with it). My prediction: Confirmation or denial on the '59 Dodge.
  20. Well, I declare - if the clergy around here's gonna start stealin' everybody's automobiles!
  21. Mother, he's not that good a driver!
  22. You are driving this car very badly. Perhaps you're not used to driving such an expensive car
  23. She's the last of the Mustangs. Should've read my horoscope this morning! Mister Wakeem - I don't know how to tell you this... You know those parking lot attendants...
  24. In no particular order, I like Potbelly's (sandwiches), Burger King, Barnaby's (pizza), Taco Bell, Brown's Chicken, and Steak 'n' Shake. From my days in SoCal I miss Los Tres Cochinitos in Lincoln Heights (melt-in-your mouth tortas de lengua) and La Luz del Dia at Olvera Street (after our Aztec dance group performed out front, the manager comped our meals; best tacos I've ever had and fresh corn tortillas made as you watch). In-n-Out always had a long line at the drive-through; burgers=good, shakes=very good, french fries= well, they were french fries. I really wish Pollo Loco had restaurants here in my area.
