  1. Fingers crossed for you, Harry.
  2. Looking at that side view, now I see where the '74 Matador coupe came from!
  3. Big red "Baby Lincoln" - love it!
  4. Excellent job on this Roundup! I've been watching these bodies on eBay lately and hoping somebody would tackle one. Nice to know Jimmy Flintstone did such a good job this time.
  5. The front - say, mid-door to cowl - of it is '29 A, but the rear half is from a '27 T roadster, according to what I've read about how it was built. So I figured maybe cut it at the rear door jambs and mate it with the front half of the touring body.
  6. I hope I can be forgiven for seeing this done up as a '60s show rod, like a touring car version of Tognotti's King T...
  7. This is a bit out of left field, but has anyone here tried combining the rear half of the Ala Kart's body with the front half of an AMT '27 T touring to get an accurate '27 roadster body? Of course the turtledeck would be another matter, but it might be good for a bobtail hot rod.
  8. That scratching sound you hear is scribers, X-Acto blade points and photoetch saws opening up hoods on AMT '64 Comets across the land!
  9. Yes, the first thing I learned about searching for car parts on eBay was to exclude the word "Fits:"
  10. My mother once said the worst thing about being a woman was having to carry a purse. I'm not sure she was exaggerating much.
  11. You know any satisfyin' profanity? (Walter Brennan in Task Force)
  12. A bird as big as a battleship! You keep your shirt on and I'll go get my pants on. (both from The Giant Claw, 1957 - as bad as the visual FX are, it has a lot of snappy dialog)
  13. Facebook - I don't have a page but there are a couple pages I check now and then for photos (one for Hobbs Army Air Field and one for Paducah, KY), and I follow some old friends back in CA including some of my Aztec dancer buddies (one still has a MySpace page). Tattoos - There's one Aztec insignia (my name sign) I want to do but I haven't had the cash and the inclination at the same time. Piercings - thought about it (ear) but never did it. Ever get a zit in your earlobe? I used to, so I figured a piercing wouldn't help the situation much. Mobile - Got a decent TracFone for my occasional calls that's smart enough to take good pictures; it can text but I've only used that to enter a radio contest. YouTube - I've put up a couple rare videos regarding the death of H.B. Halicki (Gone in 60 Seconds) that I could post here if you're interested.
  14. You could also use it to convert the Jo-Han/X-El '59 Chrysler New Yorker four-door hardtop into a two-door, or just combine it with the rear half of the '59 body to make a 300E. You will have to reshape/extend the fins almost to the driver's door jamb. I'm redoing a '59 DeSoto as a two-door using the '57 300C; a couple quick-and-dirty shots of where it's at: And what I need to do next: Move the door handles back and fix the fins to match the line shown... What do you think?
  15. How about using that clear-coated wire that is used to tie down car bodies in display boxed kits? You get the clear outside part and the metal rim inside it.
  16. Back in the eighties I built a Blueprinter '64 Ford and one of the first Modelhaus '58 Edsel kits at the print shop where I worked (I had the run of the place after hours), plus I even took a stab at becoming a member of the aftermarket when I produced a sheet of 1956-62 California license plates. Sold a few of them here and there, then sold the remaining 200+/- sheets to Dennis Doty. Paul Hettick still uses them on some of those high-end builds he sells on eBay.
  17. Fursuit time, eh? I want this one. (Better to be a cat than a rat )
  18. Now those are some great decals! The 1/1 was a looker, too. Tommy, in which class did you drive your '55? I've got a long-stalled 1970s dirt tracker '64 Fairlane project on which I'm using the same kind of deep steelies with a set of those big American Satco street tires. It basically will look like your '55; stock body and chassis with a small-block Ford.
  19. Got a '56 Ford rear end yesterday from gardnerpag44 - I'm using its nicely arched rear springs (with shock mounts!) to help jack up the 9-inch and get the '58 Fairlane riding high.
  20. That truck is in amazing condition after 18 years - do you keep it in a vault? Looks like only 12000-something kilometers on it when I enlarged the interior photo.
  21. This one bid up to $1980.55 last December:
  22. Rob, that looks fantastic! I used to own an '86 LTD LX Crown Vic in two-tone blue, so I'm looking forward to seeing how your project turns out.
  23. A few lesser-known favorites (to save space I'll just give the IMCDb links): The Giant Gila Monster (1959) Crazy Mama (1975) Pink Lightning (1991) Cell 2455, Death Row (1955) Drive a Crooked Road (1955)
