Very very clean build! The foiling is a major pain to make look right. What are your plans for the Styline parts? Would be interesting to see how they'd work with the current '62 convertible kit.

Early Bronco Wheelcovers?
ChrisBcritter replied to Mike Chernecki's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Tom Piagari and I racked our brains over this years ago when he built a base model Bronco; I was thinking modified mid-'50s promo wheels ('55 Caddy?), but he ended up using '69-'72 Grand Prix wheelcovers. I think they might have worked even better if the depression around the edge was filled in. -

Very sorry to hear that. Mods, should this be moved to General?

Any Kits With Taillights Like These?
ChrisBcritter replied to OldTrucker's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hey Johnny - I wrote about this a while back: One addition: It has to be the Craftsman Series '59 Mercury convertible with the chrome taillights. Not an easy find but they are around. -

Hubley 1/24 1961 Ford Country Sedan restoration

Great job! Another source for '61 Ford wheelcovers in 1/24 scale is the original issue Monogram '55 Chevy - they were for the custom version and fit the tires just fine. -

Copycat automotive design.
ChrisBcritter replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Out of left field, perhaps, but I always thought there was a little Avanti influence in the final ('90-'92) Olds Toronado Troféo: Which was partly why I bought a used Troféo about 25 years ago. -
Funny thing is that the rear quarters and rear roof are so short that it looks like the Falcon wagon made for the Australian market - unintentional, I'm sure! Via Wikipedia:

Lucky son-of-a-gun! I'd still like to get one to recreate the car from that Love Hate Love TV movie.

Possibly dumb question, but could the old tools/molds themselves be high-res scanned to create masters for 3D printing?
-
Well! If it comes out soon, great - I have a green '56 kit and photoetch emblems ready to go. Now howzabout a 3D printed chassis? Per Okey on FB: "The new kit will not be ready, but I will show the work in progress." ZTony8, can you confirm?

I made a '42 conversion on the AMT 1/43 '48 Ford Coupe to display with a 1/48 B-17; to make the grille I recall I used the bottom half of the custom grille from the 'AMT '37 Chevy - split it down the middle to make the two side pieces, and used a finned chrome valve cover from the AMT '55 Nomad to make the vertical center bar - I thought it came out pretty good.

Tom Piagari had a Cruver Olds too; his plan was to make molds and copy all the small parts to take up the slack after The Modelhaus closed - then mold the body to make a complete kit. One of the many projects that didn't happen before it was too late. Interesting to note that it looks to be molded in acetate - but the ones I've seen have little to no warpage/shrinkage. Wouldn't mind having one myself.

Later today would be fine. If you held off until Thursday the 1st, we'd have our doubts.

Atlantis has the molds for at least some of the Revell '62 Mopar annuals; it's going to take some restoration and licensing (they haven't gotten permission from Chrysler yet) - was hoping they'd come this or next year.

Hmm. So, '62 Mopars in 2024...? The Curtiss Jenny and F-89 look good.
