I'm definitely slowing down - there are only three upcoming kits I really want to get: the redone '63 Nova wagon; the resurrected '64 F-85 (already looking to get a '65 GTO roof for it); and the at-long-last Heller Renault Estafette (if Heller doesn't go paws up again for the 17th time).

Very subtle but very attractive mod! I bet you'll have a lot of guys doing double-takes at that one when it's finished.

Small stuff again. Something to plug the hole under my '63 Craftsman Impala: And some '62 Revell headlight lenses (Plymouth) to use as casting masters. Hope they'll fit the Newports.

Might be fun to do a pickup conversion - those were popular in Central and South America. I once saw one heading into L.A.; bright red, mags and Salvadoran license plates.

All I can say is... Here at last indeed. Tom Piagari and I talked about this one a lot - I'm thinking faded blue and white with surfboards. A tiny handful of them actually made it to the U.S., probably dealer demonstrators.

And spot in the paint thick enough that you can take some ultrafine sandpaper and feather it in, then polish. Did you clearcoat this one or is it just paint?

Hi all! I'm working on upgrading my '70 Buick Wildcat from curbside to have an engine; so far I've got an engine, firewall and chassis from a '69 Wildcat. What I need is the front wall/radiator; does anyone have one they can measure for me? I figure I can scratchbuild it if I have the dimensions. Thanks!

Checked Michael's and the coupons apparently still work for the Alumilite stuff. 20% instead of 40% but it's something.

Ugh. Just remembered 50 First Dates - to steal a line from Roger Ebert: "Hated hated hated hated hated this movie." And I usually like Drew Barrymore.

Picked up an NOS '59 El Camino bed floor and tonneau cover (aka tuck 'n' roll donor), plus a '69 Buick Wildcat chassis to upgrade my '70 kit; it has some better qualities like no screw holes going through the gas tank or front end, plus it's about 1/8" or 3/16" longer in the rear so almost no gap where it meets the pan. Updating the previous stuff I got for it, I managed to get the firewall off the interior without wrecking it (anyone need a '69 Wildcat interior?) and got the engine cleaned up in the purple pond. Came out nice with a lot of scrubbing; still need to at least dislodge the intake manifold and reattach it straight. Finally, thanks to forum member hedotwo (Rich), I got the fan belt and accessories from a '65 Riviera to dress up the '69 engine, which only has an alternator; plus the Riv's custom clear headlights and bezels - I want to use them on some future '60s-style kustom project like Darryl Starbird did with a '55 Crown Vic.

One thing I noticed at HL when I went there last week: All the Alumilite casting products were now marked with the red/yellow "Your Price" price tags - meaning the 40% off coupons can no longer be used on them. I'll have to check Michael's and see if it's the same deal.
