Picked up this poor ol' heap from Joe Wheat over the weekend: Lots of parts to play with here; wheels, bumpers, taillights and glass are all good. I wonder if I could use the glass for the AMT '58 as a template to correct the roof? Or maybe I could turn it into a post-crash version of Sheriff Roy's ride from The California Kid?

Still working the learning curve with the UV resin taillights. The first experimental batch came out very dark and had the issue of not curing all the way through. This time I tried three drops of dye (instead of five) per about 1/2 tsp of resin, and pouring about a 1/16" layer at a time, then 15 seconds per layer with the UV light, then 30 seconds for the last layer. I think I'm finding a sweet spot here; the lenses are coming out more clear red and solid and the dye is fading less. Note the thinner lenses are a bit lighter:

Yep - the Fireball 500 has them, too. (Another chrome headlight I should cast in clear.) As to the Ami, the export version (Canada?) looked like this:

There's one other '57 Buick: A toy company from Argentina named "Bichi" made a very good knockoff of the AMT '57 Roadmaster hardtop - but in non-warping styrene. They sold it in many versions with accessories glued to the body; the one I got from Tom Piagari's widow came in a Man from U.N.C.L.E. version. I got a warped promo which supplied better chrome and it all fits the Bichi body well. I've scrounged Modelhaus wheelcovers and a '58 Buick kit chassis; just need a '58 Buick kit interior to start putting it together.

From a '67 Corvair: Got a complete NOS engine mostly for the correct fan shroud (future casting project?) and a set of steelies, but missed the dash (needed for the Powerglide conversion). Also ordered a set of small rotary saw blades and 3/32" mandrels to help with all the cutting I need to do, especially on the '62 Newports...

Nice work so far! Also, Roman, you may have some trouble fitting that clear shroud on top of the engine - AMT redid the glass molds at some point and they messed up that part.

I did something similar: I put one on either side of an original AMT compact tire, carved new treads, then cast them in resin and ended up with nice wide 13s:

Having had a '56 210 in our family, I'm partial to them as well. A family friend bought it new: And after we got it in '66. By then the front fenders and rear doglegs were rotted out: I have both the Nomad (started) and Del Ray (boxed). Speaking of the Lee taillights, I made a set for the Nomad by cutting down a set of AMT 1/16 scale '55 Chevy taillight lenses:
