  1. Thats my 1st idea to just trim some off, if that doesn't work, I'll need to slice the fenders further. Another spot I ran into issue, was the extension touch also, they should be notched out under the air cleaners. I'm working midnight shifts now, so bench times been slow Thanks !
  2. Very nice work on the engine so far, and looking forward to your truck build!
  3. Well..I didn't mock up everything before paint, and just found out my eyeball fender hack won't work... I should've looked closer at 1:1 trucks for the right place to cut the fenders loose, I made them too long. So if your following along and plan this...cut the fender extensions longer keeping the hood away from air cleaners...oops
  4. @Gary Chastain- thanks ! Thats a great idea for detailing the headache rack. I completely forgot about the hooks when I installed mine.. @Mopar - D thanks ! I've been trying to finish assembly this wknd before I change shifts at work...but didn't make it. @DRIPTROIT 71 thanks! Appreciate your comments I was working through the groups of parts all wknd, hoping to wrap it up before Monday. Plumbing the air cooler(?) pipes really slowed me down. I didn't have any large diameter rod, till my brain cells kicked in..the sprues around the kit have plenty!! I bent some sections into pipe, and painted w silver. I'm not finished w the turbos yet, their way too clean. I want to try some pastel powder to give them the crusty look I see in photos. I tried to replicate the pink antifreeze in the overflow..ehh whatever lol The cab and hood was cleared, so I started hanging the chrome parts around it. I need to find a top for these air cleaners, one fell into my glue puddle and it ruined the finish. Thanks for following along! Hopefully I'll have this under glass in the next few days, then it's back to the bottom dump
  5. Really nice work! The doors look good closed and open around the " bathtub" lol I'm itching to get back to work on mine, just need to finish the tractor 1st
  6. Is it still appropriate to use the word " wicked looking " ..that definitely applies here lol Adding the sprint car wing really looks good
  7. Rain kept us inside today, so before my wife suggested I help w housework..I disappeared to the bench... The frame was painted Tamiya gunmetal, then details picked out in flat black. I built the missing fan shroud from a pill bottle while other parts were drying. I attached the headache rack, and deck plate after a quick shot of Duplicolor chrome..just bright enough but not blinding. The wheels were assembled and mounted..finally its a rolling chassis. I ended up squirting the moebius wheels w Duplicolor chrome to tone them down..subtle. A quick mock up to check the body parts still fit.
  8. The trailer parts look good, especially the little gears to work those huge doors
  9. That shipping crate turned out fantastic
  10. That cabs screaming for a small chop!
  11. Incredible work, the tractor looks fantastic Looking forward to your trailer
  12. Thats so sinister looking Awesome work
  13. @Steve H thanks for stopping by the truck stop, there's a ton of helpful builders around here. I'll try you tip on the wheels, I'm messing around with them this week
  14. I reached the paint stage today, base coated w sterling silver for the Tamiya Mica red to follow... This was before clear, so it's gonna dull down. The engine was painted w Pollyscale CP yellow, something I had on the paint rack. Now to wrap up the frame, and this will be moved to final assembly
  15. Good color choice ! They really did a good job molding the Bronco
  16. Incredible fabrication Too bad its gonna be covered in paint
  17. Nice rebuild to save another truck! Your dump truck looks good
  18. Hopefully it will help your project! My fenders didn't fit tight to the cab, so after separating them from the hood, I taped them in place to measure the gap. I ended up w a 040" gap on drivers side, and about 2mm on riders. I split the extension down center and filled the space...who said watching TV isn't helpful, I got the idea from custom car building lol Much closer
  19. Glad I could help ya out ! Its a real easy fix, I'll post photos of how I address it soon.
  20. Hey Dan, thanks for following! The bottom dump parts were passed along to me from the family of a departed icon of the model truck community we recently lost. I was asked if I would finish what he started, and down the road possibly parts will be available for others...
  21. Excellent looking IH ! I heard Dave Carey is working on the 9670 Transtar Eagle, hopefully he will consider this cab also
  22. Your trailer progress looks great! Always nice when you finish fitting the suspension and wheels...and they all touch! I've been nailed during IPMS shows for floaters more than once, it's never their wobbly tables lol
