  1. Good tip using a large sheet..if I may suggest using Basswood instead of balsa. Grain is smoother and imo better appearance over airplane wood . I bought a piece about 4 inches wide by roughly 20 inches at hobby lobby last year if I recall its 1/32 " thinnest I could find
  2. Looks like the ChMZAP 5247 G trailer that's offered w the Maz 537 kit which imo is a fantastic model The Kraz makes a great tractor too
  3. Just noticed The Beast lurking in the background of your last pic..the OSHKOSH HET M1070 ! Really looking forward to this one I may have a set of the fender spot mirrors from Dave Natale, I can check
  4. Following along, I just picked one up to convert into a 9300 to replicate my step dads truck. Looks like the prior operator put loads of wiring details on, really nice
  5. Awesome details , you can almost fire that engine up just add fluids Love the tank straps
  6. Awesome info on the hinge , definitely the simplest way and looks real
  7. Stunning work really like all the small details these kits have
  8. Very nice sled dog ! I've always liked the 457 version of these trucks , something about the roof line and cab shape just looks good to me. Could I pester ya for a pic of your cab hinges ? I always struggle making them work Keep up the great work
  9. Looks great Dan ! Really went together well Oh watch out being in Tbills family..he likes to send people squirrels...lol
  10. Outstanding job, theres so many details you've added it really makes it realistic ! Definitely like your choice of boom color , orange makes it stand out not disappear under coat of black Noticed watching highway thru hell most of their trucks have bright colors
  11. I puttered w the tanker while paint dried on my new chassis , detailed out the front fenders. Ribs from half round, and small loops of solder replicate the u bolts seen on my reference. The fenders came from Jamie at moluminum The ladder was extremely fun. .080 rod w 060 steps . The top treads are perforated sheet ( gorgeous pattern) I bought from KFS . back to the Mack thanks for watching
  12. Love what your doing , the steam wisps are a cool touch, gives it sense of being well used instead of show truck . Step dads shop has a retired paystar out front I'd like to model eventually
  13. Yup sometimes it's faster just to cover them ! I better get back on my Mack, all the paints finally dry
  14. The red Aeromax was the tractor I saw pulling Bill Elliott's transporter for the Bud at the Glen race here at Watkins Glen . They were staying over at a local hotel, funny cause the entire Hendricks team was there also. I only remember it since it's the first time I saw Jeff Gordon in person
  15. Very nice work love the green w gold very classy . Good to hear time settled down the carrier film Keep up the great build
  16. Thanks I appreciate the feedback ! Yeah that etch grill really looked sharp. Hardest part using the etch grill was attaching the hinges in correct spot since the holes were molded into plastic grille. It would take serious surgery to remove this one now. I made a spacer for the other ones before I found my alignment issues Maybe on the next one haha
  17. Awesome work, seriously amazing details on such a small scale The wood deck really looks aged like how you captured the separate boards
  18. Well..its resolved. I ended up mocking up a spare chassis and everything dropped in perfect. Guess I tweaked the first chassis assembling it . Now a few more parts to install and the new frame will be ready for paint ! My buddy tbill hooked me up with a few pics of a properly assembled truck, and I spotted my firewall wasnt tight against the cowl, a quick tweak had that sorted out ! Thanks tbill And its sitting level on all the mounts now too bad I ruined the etch grill screwing with the other frame
  19. Looking really good Idea of trailer hitch sounds cool
  20. Well I hit a major issue...after mounting everything up , my cab and hood are seriously crooked. I noticed an issue after installing the hood w the etch grill..thinking it was my hinges I swapped the grill for the kit one..it didnt help I popped the cab off the mounts , installed hood then remounted cab..now its sitting like this. the hoods in the holes , no idea why it's so wacky ..but decided I better revisit this project after cooling down. I really considered myself a dog person..but lately I'm not sure..glad our Lab is loyal lol Any suggestions to fix it are welcome , I think it's the new frame rails made from the same tree lowes lumber comes from lol I might try using an older frame and drop the cab on it
  21. Very nice love watching your builds progress
