  1. Thanks everyone I appreciate the feedback Actually my 1st completed Mack truck !
  2. Heres my completed R model . It's mostly box stock except the scratchbuilt Tuthill pneumatic vacuum/ blower system to run the bulk sand tanker that'll be attached later. Color is Tamiya Mica Red w semi gloss black frame. I added half fenders from the snap KW, and susie coils from AITM. The cab mount cb antenna was donated from the IH 4300. The straight exhaust stack was removed and rebuilt w a turned style . Parts box driving lights were added to the front bumper also. The decals were custom made made by Joe Shultz at diecast and decals.
  3. This is gonna be awesome powered by that huge screaming jimmy
  4. SergeB - I ordered them from Joe Shultz from diecast and decals. He drew the artwork from photos I sent him, and printed everything. Check out his website for ordering info
  5. Awesome build Jim ! Hopefully you'll have it on display at spring thaw
  6. Hey Tom your right !! I did end up replacing the kit after all...lol
  7. Well I'm calling this build finished ! I'll post better pics in glass once weather gets better those psycho air lines will be secured to tanker once complete until then it has bad hair day Changing the exhaust stack really looks better to me, probably not authentic but I prefer them. Thanks for watching!
  8. Nice update ! I agree w ya..even a small frame stretch would balance the truck out after looking at the real one . Are those Jamie's heavy duty front springs ?
  9. Thanks Ray ! I love the challenge of making parts from photos, and appreciate the company allowing me access to their trailers. I get caught up trying to make everything I see , which most people will likely never notice.. Back to the Mack, last night I added the door graphics custom made by Joe Shultz of diecast and decals , absolutely awesome work !! The decals are in perfect register and no bleed thru over the mica red.. Last item on the list , ya cant have operate a pneumatic trailer without a blower ! I used the large aux air tank chopped in half wrapped w 010 thou for tank body. The rest is odd bits added . The top hex pipe fittings were added , mounting strap, and it's off to paint Heres its home, PTO drive w mount tabs .. Thanks for following along
  10. Well Jeff, can ya eat chips? You can take a popcorn bag and fill it with chips or whatever ya like!! No one will ever know about it!! Wink wink!!! Great idea !!!
  11. Awesome work ! Separating the muffler is a great idea. If ya cant bend the pipe without kinking, see if the kit sprue is Similar diameter , and use that for your exhaust stack..I've used it for several parts when running low on supplies. Drill out the end when done no one will notice lol
  12. Better buy one before Ford issues a recall on them like all their other road traffic .
  13. Time to start hoarding
  14. Thanks ! I almost gave up on it too..glad I stuck it out
  15. Awesome work ! I traded a fella for one of these few years ago, gonna have to dig it out
  16. So much fun to watch this develop I'd grab a bag of popcorn but dr said I cant eat it anymore..bummed
  17. I finally got back into working on the Mack, and now its falling together. I wanted to add a few personal touches , so I added a couple fog lights below bumper. Also what road tractor wouldn't have a CB antenna? I bummed one from the 4300 kit. The mount is just a scrap piece of angle mounted just above the drivers window .The fuel tank steps needed something , so scraps of perforated photoetch was attached . Lastly the exhaust stack was replaced w a curved top. My fellow builders pointed out a large empty space behind the cab before the rear tandems, a set of half fenders from the snap KW fit the bill..and will compliment the trailer fenders ! Enough gab enjoy the pics !
  18. Very nice Justin ! Can't wait to see it in Utica
  19. Really like how ya have this sitting , grafting the donor front end was pure genius ! Using the super low pro tires and old school cab is killer
