  1. Very nice so far ! I am building an Autocar wrecker using the same kit ! The flat black acts like a pre shade works perfect under top coat
  2. I'm first !!! great choice of names for the truck a thon lol! What's on the bench ? well being just over the hill from Huskytown USA it's gonna be the Brockway 361 !! I can hear the screaming jimmy already
  3. Looks awesome so far!! if ya had plans to cast this, I can see guys here beating your door down for a copy !!
  4. If I'm not mistaken the 360 cab would be your preferred option for the 12v. it has the longer hood suitable for the huge engine. I thought they called them U360 . I've seen many builders use the current western star, and even a IH paystar for the donor chsssis. add your favorite fuel tanks and tool boxes and your on your way. I scored a dirt cheap glue bomb R model Mack on ebay a few months ago.and its being used for the 361 but your looking for current kits Jeff
  5. Great choice Kurt ! The 358 is one of my favorites , have you chosen the paint yet I just picked up the 361 ! Looks like we're bringing the Husky back to NY !!
  6. Very clean work ! Looks fantastic so far
  7. Yes right along the grill, but dry fit first because mine didn't need the shim
  8. It was pointed out when.I purchased mine from gary , the need to add a thin strip of styrene alone the edge of the grill she'll due to some resin shrinkage. he said it was minimal, adding .015 "would be good. mine didn't need the addition , but a few did. The parts are beautifully cast and really makes the truck look more aggressive Jeff
  9. Your really rocking this one !looking good
  10. Outstanding work, you nailed the look perfect
  11. The 12v71 had the option of turbo or non turbo, just found that interesting researching a brockway truck build
  12. Count me in !!perfect reason to build that Transtar eagle
  13. I'm swinging by to stock up for the winter build season and visit w some familiar faces ! The weather won't keep me away from the 25th anniversary show !! Can't wait to see everyone again
  14. Wow I'm speechless! Very cool project, the fit of the parts looks very well done! I could see that in a dio w a payhauler loaded down!
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look at that option! I appreciate everyone's feedback Keep building ! Jeff
  16. Hey, I've seen these pics before lol ! Looks awesome perfect spot for that D8 dozer to call home!
  17. Looks great! Nice details by adding the decals to the engine and frame, something I really need to remember
  18. Thanks! We have a new program launch at work so bench time will slow, but I'll keep plugging away! Hoping to get the boom and mixer assembly mockup this week
  19. thanks everyone for the positive feedback, building something different is always a goal of mine lets keep the mojo going, tonight's a small update since we've been pumpkin hunting with our "pumpkin lol !! The conveyor finally gets the parts I been dreading..the belt guide rollers !! Turns out it went really fast looks like I missed a little glue mess.. time for the lower roller guides ! I'm trying ribbon for the belt, hopefully it has the look I'm after Thanks for following along !
  20. lurking in the background, you"ll notice the parts for the next step. A few tubes pretending to be cylinders, flat strips for plates..and other bits. glue together and its ready for another mock up !!! That's it for now !!! thanks for looking ! Jeff
  21. ok..now skip ahead to the "folding section" I call the stinger. Here we have the driven main roller, the side plates, and support framework ! All these parts were built from images from pics Gary W and I have taken, or the parts manual.. I used plastic tubing of random sizes based off the images, once I had the "stinger" length I wanted., the center section was next !! Square tubing was used for the main boom w a smaller size inside for added strength . The accessories were added then my favorite part ..MOCK UP !!
  22. ok, back at it !! sorry for the long delay..I've been busy getting the major parts built. I needed better pics so a visit to the repair shop luckily had a conveyor apart for maintenance the first section had the "head roller " rolling on bearings..so..I made everything I could thanks for looking!
  23. Very cool projects you have going on, and fantastic scratchbuilding so far !! Looking forward to more
