  1. Hahahaha i only borrowed it for a few minutes.. they had quite a few to choose from . Sadly I hear most have been parted out now . One lives on by a lucky owner though
  2. With all the Autocar ,DR. love going on here lately, I decided to jump on the wagon !! I picked up a very nice rebuilder at a local show...so nice I'm kinda embarrassed for tearing it down and using it for the intended build . The build will be a plow , using the dump box from a Ford plow kit , and 24s for rubber . Heres the pile I started with before carefully disassembling the truck. The planned build ..photo used w permission thanks Ryan Pedone The cab showed DK slam lock doors but retains the DC narrower hood..wipe sweat from brow...now I can just use most of the kit parts ! Check out the new tires next to stock the float front...yeah crazy . The dump box from sam i am I traded forever ago, nows the perfect project to use it ! Looks like the truck was built with tube glue, lightly wiggling the parts and they popped right off ! Here's the chassis after just a few minutes ..I never even had to use a sawzall.. I'm gonna remove the Rockwell 6 bar and replace it with a single drive axle . The front will have a driven front axle from gw trucks . I'm keeping the stock engine for now...well see A quick mock up to check frame length Any comments or suggestions welcome
  3. Thanks ! When we rebuilt our deck this summer everyone said I built it strong enough to park a truck on it...never imagined actually parking one on it Thanks ! It was a very enjoyable project

  8. Fantastic build ! All the scratchbuilding details really bring this to life .
  9. Thanks Vince ! I really wish I'd sprayed a dull coat before doing the powder , it didn't stain the parts liked I'd hoped..but these trucks were maintained at a high level by the drivers anyway . First thing I always add are am tires , nothing beats the quality and detail
  10. Thanks ! Another fun build checked off the list Thanks, these trucks really got worked but the drivers took care to maintain them . Ill probably add a dump truck of their fleet someway

  13. yours is looking awesome Tom ! I' ll whip mine into shape this week, this car has challenged me
  14. The Brockway mixer is a tribute to the retired B&D fleet in the southern tier , thats since been sold off for scrap . These trucks were a common sight hauling loads around the southern tier, and the siren song of their 6-71s filling the air . The shop typically made modifications to every truck and I tried to capture them on this build . The main build focused around a 361 cab and Rex 770 from AITM. B& D trucks had custom built " pit fenders " so I ordered them from Dave too. Their rear fenders were commonly backwards, and up front they always had a logging chain welded to the front springs for yanking them free if mired on job sites . I cut the kit hood free and formed a metal one from K&s tin hinging it to show off the 6-71 from gw trucks . Paint is rusto sunrise red & JD green . Decals were printed by Joseph Schultz of diecast & decals . Weathering w actual concrete powder . any feedback welcome!
  15. The mixer is finished ! I added a few details , mud flaps w logos on computer paper then snapped some photos Enjoy ladder braces were added I forgot about earlier Extra chutes w a flash rusting ..just mig powders over steel paint for effect Thanks to everyone following my build Jeff
