  1. Mike - your first rig ? Wow looks like you've done this before, excellent work so far . Welcome to the rig builders forum ! Everyone here is very helpful As far as removing the chrome look..which fits your weathered worn work truck theme, several options exist . Painting the tanks black, or body color would look good. Another option would be a dullcoat to knock the shine down. Looking forward to your build
  2. Nice work on the tanks ! Those brackets look great. Keep it going
  3. Thanks , the yellow really tied everything together. Now to finish details on the dump bed and tweak the plow parts .
  4. Painted up the cab / hood last night, really happy how the colors went together. Thank s for the comments I appreciate them
  5. If that doesn't work, I've used DOT 3 brake fluid before to strip paint . Over night soak then wash w dish detergent. Worth a shot
  6. Still have the poster on the wall..I'm definitely interested
  7. Seems funny now that I'm working on a plow, and our weather is unseasonably warm. Forecast of mid 50s all week..not complaining..been taking the Mach 1 for trips in Dec seems like ealry Christmas
  8. Fantastic work, love the tissue idea . I've used airplane tissue before for rolled tarps on armor, but never the results you have
  9. Nice looking build and cool paint plan
  10. Now there's a mockup ! That dump box looks great on the steel hood mack. Did you modify the camelback span on this build ? Heard they have an excessive span out of the box . Yours doesn't look that wide .
  11. Beautiful work on your great dane extendable trailer. Cant wait for your winged fleet too
  12. Thanks Brian ! Huge milestone reached this weekend, the paint started flying !!! Stopped by my local lfs , and found exactly the colors I was hoping for, tamiya chrome yellow and racing green ! The chassis is in final color, the cabs gonna be a few days . You can see my cab lurking , I used silver base to seal the previous red paint from bleeding thru..THANKS Sam !!!! I added a filler panel under the cab before paint . Here's a mockup w everything before the final primer coat and yellow goes down. Getting to this point seemed ridiculous fast, but really enjoying building this plow. The blue cab and hood really let me down, something caused bulges in the doors, and 3 spots dead center in the hood. I think these new parts came from Kelly Ingram, so glad I had them
  13. Cool little ranger build ! Killer idea dropping the 3.0 under the hood , now its a faster pizza delivery truck !
  14. You've really taken this build to another level! Those large floats look good on there. Swapping hoods really changes the appearance of the DM , much more of a working truck imo
  15. The hood looks fantastic
  16. We're nearing the end of the BRBO 21 , only a few short weeks to go !! Really looking forward to posting everyone's finished builds together to celebrate another brbo in the books ! Plenty of time left for the builders to complete their projects and join the finishers group Huge thanks again to gw trucks for sponsoring this year BRBO and everyone for their participation.
  17. Heck yeah bring on the Mopars!
  18. Man Bill you must be feeding your squirrels better than me , they keep a really clean work space !!! They leave stuff all over mine , gotta have a chat w em
  19. Outstanding details
  20. Wow Dan , I hadn't noticed the pass side wiper before..but now you've mentioned it..I'll see what the rodents say . I did spot the headlight holes in the bumper ends, have those planned. Another smallish detail I wanted to include is the diamond plate panel over fenders, the photo shows it extending down side ! That truck didn't have the cab guard or cold temp shutters..but plenty of easter eggs to ponder Jeff
  21. I'm guessing it was hydro dipped , cool idea . Creates a modern wrapped kinda vibe
