  1. Since Round 2 is doing models from UFO, I'd like to see them release a kit based on Col Straker's car from the series.
  2. There is absolutely nothing wrong with just wanting to build straight out of the box, and should you be tempted to label someone as "just" anything, it's good to remember that no matter how good you think you are, there are builders out there who can quite simply blow you out of the water. My impression of Revell's Deuce kits is that they're a nicely done version of what they're supposed to be, a contemporary-ish (as in nearly 30 years now) hot rod, and it that's not your thing, they'll get you 80% of the way to what you do want.
  3. Hot rods are very much an expression of personal taste, One person's dream machine is another one's aesthetic nightmare, and whatever they do to the kit, someone isn't going to be happy.
  4. I'm so very glad I could help.
  5. Apparently, it's hard enough, and it's certainly been covered enough times. If you really have to have something different, there's certainly no shortage of donor kits and aftermarket parts.
  6. I agree the '66 full sized Chryslers are right up there in the looks department, and could get behind a kit version.
  7. Looks like your efforts were rewarded. Nicely done!
  8. The US shutdown during WW2 was mostly vehicles and large appliances. If you look at a magazine from that time, there were still plenty of goods for sale. The model company Guillow's kept going right through the war, though they did switch to paper because balsa was considered a strategic material. As all those race car kits show, what makes a subject interesting has very little to do with how many were made. Tucker's one of those makes that's always generated a lot of interest, and is usually high on modeler's want lists. The kit does look pretty nice. I would have liked to have seen a full engine, but that is still a very nice underside. As for whether it's legit, we'd certainly find out soon enough.
  9. Mind you, a dollar went a whole lot farther back then.
  10. Also interesting how they do the rear axle. Those wire wheels look very nice, and those are tough to get right at that scale.
  11. I hadn't really appreciated up to now how much styling the Toronado shared with the rest of the Oldsmobile line.
  12. A company that actually wants out business? What a concept! I guess simply shouting down anyone who has a problem with whatever dubious plastic that gets foisted on them doesn't work that well after all.
  13. Hobbylinc is taking orders for the Kellers Kustom's Comp T Roadster for May http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/aan/aan13104.htm
  14. The detail is kind of mind boggling. Separate light bulbs? How many kits in that scale even bother to mould them in? One thing for sure with all those microscopic parts, the carpet monsters will be feeding well.
  15. It' my understanding that the Revival moulds are long gone, but if someone decides to prove me wrong, I will not be upset.
  16. It also looks like a multi piece body, which seems to be standard practice for ICM, but again, not necessarily a deal breaker.
  17. I like it. It's like a second generation Corvair and a Dino coupe had a beautiful baby.
  18. A '32 from ICM would be nice, though seeing how much WW2 stuff they do, would something from the '40s be out of the question? A '42 Ford would seem to be an obvious choice.
  19. Because you can never go wrong with Dick Dale. I've been enjoying Tokyo Vice a lot, especially the soundtrack.
  20. Oh, people will gripe whatever you do. My thought is, even if you have no interest in ,32 Tudors, there are still some nice parts for the kitbashers. I plan on getting at least one.
  21. That is a nice colour. Humbrol Midnight Blue is a ver close match for it.
  22. Kind of hoping here that Revell will pick it up eventually like other ICM kits, with a drop in price.
  23. Hobbylink Japan is taking orders, and they're expecting it in June. There's a little sticker shock, but Revell kits are going for $50-$60 here now, so it's not that bad. About what they charge for Tamiya kits here. https://www.hlj.com/1-24-scale-model-a-standard-phaeton-soft-top-1930s-american-passenger-car-icm24050
