The hint helped a lot. Putting "fastest truck" into Google gave a flood of modern pickups, but when I put in "test truck" "fastest"" and "unusual", this was the first thing that came up -

The stuff does look nice, and even better, he takes Paypal. I ordered a couple of sets of vintage wires from him, so we'll see what happens -
Oh, the Stutz and the Thomas for sure!
-
A long shot, to be sure, but the Tempest is definitely one I'll like to see with a full chassis.

I went to the European Car Show at Stanley Park this afternoon, and I spotted this on the way there. Spotted in the parking lot. You don't see many 49-50 Lincolns, let alone customized ones. I'll post pics of the show itself once I've gone through the pics and trimmed them to a more manageable since. -
Yes, they do, and a stock '32 would be a nice place to do them in. Revell seems to be selling all the Deuces they can make, but maybe the good folks at ICM are listening?
-
I'm with you there. It's great that Revell is willing to invest in new tooling, and I don't need to relive my childhood that badly.

Monogram's classic car kits had multi piece frames, as did AMT's '70s vintage '23 T. This is what they have to do if you want channel sectioned frame rails. It does look like an impressive kit.

If you're taking suggestions: Bosley GT Lancia Statos Zero GM Firebird III -
The T-bird looks nice. If ever there was a golden age of AMT kits, that would be it. A '55 bumper would be a nice option, and some putty would take care of the vent.

'32 Ford Chauffeur Driven Town Sedan

I love what you're doing here, and it's certain something that would have been done in the real world, like this Model A town car. -
Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?
Richard Bartrop replied to Rockford's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To say that the internet, and social media in particular, is as accurate as a two dollar watch would be a gross insult to the low priced timepiece industry. -
I'm mostly interest in the prewar stuff. I had no interest in modeling generic malaisewagens when I could get the kits for $2, and I have even less interest interest when they at close to $50.

Goodbye Hot Rod Magazine?

If civilization ends, I suspect a lot of the people with Mad Max fantasies playing in their head will get a rude shock, but you don't need Armageddon to lose info from the Internet. It should be pretty obvious to anyone who's spent any time online that anything is there only as long as somebody wants to keep it there, so if you do find something useful, you'd better save it to your own machine while you can. That anyone can post to the internet is simultaneously the best and the worst thing about it, as people either through ignorance or outright malice seem determined to bury us in baloney. We are in an age where idiots are arguing over the shape of the Earth. The internet is handy, but we still need someone to hoard info in some kind of relatively permanent form.
