  1. more progress on the trailer, added lights, some diamond plate and some flap weights, have to work today, but i think i may be able to finish this build off tomorrow thanks for looking.
  2. I try to use the HL 40% off whenever possible, and like most, find a lot of deals at swap meets and thru trading. every now and again you can find good deals on amazon as well.
  3. sounds like a cool project, look forward to seeing some progress.
  4. wow, great looking build, the small details make it, excellent job.
  5. nice job, i too have heard horror stories about those doors, have a few in the stash but have yet to build one, yours looks great.
  6. good looking rig! love the color choices, and ya, would also like to see the dash
  7. thanks all a little more trailer progress from last night,
  8. trailer builds up nice, just gotta keep an eye on keeping it straight, i got it slightly crooked as i wasn't paying absolute attention as i did the cross beams, so it may dog track a little
  9. more progress, and some work on the trailer, won't be long now
  10. thanks all. stripes......will probably not stripe it, but now you have me thinking of looking in the decal drawer to see what i have laying around........ color, it's actually a bluish purple, i think it will really pop in sunlight, hopefully when it's done i can get some good outside pic;s.
  11. JT, that looks awesome! great idea with the trailer, killer set up. it's great to see that familiar color again
  12. i found the spray bomb type automotive primer to work the best [for me], but also keep in mind, i have found that even with that primer, if you use the primer to fill scratches/sand marks, the hot lacquer will noticeably react in those areas, so the body work has to really be done smooth. as mentioned, do some spoon tests and see how it goes. took me a few tries to find the combo that worked for me.
  13. i use automotive lacquers on my kits, and they are a bit hot, but, if you use an automotive style primer,[spray can type from the auto store] and make sure your body work is smooth, smooth, smooth, you should be ok.
  14. wow................................
