Pretty much the rules as we use them is, at noon you crack open the kit and build like mad until noon Sunday . As to the painting, I use lacquer paint and a dehydrator to speed up the cure time. The rig I pictured above I think too 2-3 hours to prime and two tone the paint using the dehydrator. Even if you don’t finish, give it a try, it’s a fun little distraction for a weekend. -

Not on Facebook, that’s why some buddies are doing it as well, we kinda use the same rule structure. Dan, yes, noon eastern time, should be fun -

So, some buddies and I are going to do our version of the 24 hours of Daytona 24 hour build again this year, I’m going to do the revell snap KW kit this year, did the snap Pete last year. Wanted to start a thread so once I start Saturday at noon, I can just hop on here and post my progress. I know some of you fellas kinda followed my build last year, so, if you’re bored this weekend, check in often, I should have a lot going on in a short time, haha! here’s a few pics of last years build, total time was about 12 hours to finish it.

Got a bit more done last night, power train is now ‘in’, and lower exhaust is on. Few more bits to put on the chassis, then I’ll focus on the cab, hood and interior. -

I hear ya on preferring lacquer paints, but your cab sure does look good, chassis looks fabulous as well. -

So far, I’ve done 2 coupes and a roadster, frames in each were a tad warped, nothing crazy, just a bit off. A few minutes of careful twisting seemed to bring them back square.
