  1. Calling it done, was a fun little project. Figure I’ve got around 10-11 hours into it, so obviously not my best work, but it’ll look good on the shelf. To those of you that have been watching, thanks for looking in.
  2. Ok, it’s 7:20 am, got a bit of sleep last night , about to decal this side….
  3. Ok, now I’m done for tonight, lol.
  4. Think I’m about done for today, made very good progress in around 9 hours time. Still have to decal the other side and add a few more bits, but it’ll be finished in plenty of time ( I think, lol)
  5. Thanks guys. Just put the last coat of clear on the cab a bit ago, put it in the dehydrator to speed the cure time so I can detail the door handles and window gaskets on the sleeper top either later tonight, or in the morning. Got the cab lights detailed, black washed the grill and detailed the tail lamps and signal lamps on the mirrors. Soon as the cab is cured, I can get back to hauling freight on this.
  6. Hey guys, back on track, luckily power outage only lasted about an hour ( thank goodness). Got a bit more done, still making good time.
  7. Bit of a hiccup in the process, my area is experiencing a power outage, so, progress has come to a screeching halt…… as soon as power comes back on, I will be back at it……
  8. This is an impressive build, well done so far!
  9. Excellent Work on this so far, love the opening vent!
  10. Everything is prepped for primer
  11. And we are off….., I guess this pile of stuff is gonna make a model eventually, haha!
  12. Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. I used bare metal foil on those parts.
  13. Thanks guys. This is this years attempt, will do it close to box art. Will post some pics of the opening carnage shortly after noon tomorrow, haha…..
  14. Pretty much the rules as we use them is, at noon you crack open the kit and build like mad until noon Sunday . As to the painting, I use lacquer paint and a dehydrator to speed up the cure time. The rig I pictured above I think too 2-3 hours to prime and two tone the paint using the dehydrator. Even if you don’t finish, give it a try, it’s a fun little distraction for a weekend.
  15. Not on Facebook, that’s why some buddies are doing it as well, we kinda use the same rule structure. Dan, yes, noon eastern time, should be fun
  16. Frame looks great, terrific work on the stinger. Color combo is gonna look slick on this build.
  17. Looking good so far, should really pop in that red .
  18. So, some buddies and I are going to do our version of the 24 hours of Daytona 24 hour build again this year, I’m going to do the revell snap KW kit this year, did the snap Pete last year. Wanted to start a thread so once I start Saturday at noon, I can just hop on here and post my progress. I know some of you fellas kinda followed my build last year, so, if you’re bored this weekend, check in often, I should have a lot going on in a short time, haha! here’s a few pics of last years build, total time was about 12 hours to finish it.
