  1. well, I gave bmf a shot on the tank, me and it didn't jive, lol. I couldn't get it the way I wanted it to look, so I took the bmf off and painted the tank body color and cleared it. once dry, i'll bmf the straps and call it good. other tank got sanded, primed and sanded again, needed more putty, so tomorrow night will be finishing that one off, I hope. first tank looks pretty good I think.
  2. perfect! color/stance/wheels/tires/motor............sweetness!
  3. this is coming along great, looks sweet so far.
  4. this sounds like a cool project, can't wait to see some progress pic's.
  5. looks great I think. deserving of a visible spot on the shelf ! if that smudge isn't too bad, you could lightly wet sand it with some fine paper and then put some future on it to bring the gloss back. I have found since returning to building, future will help hide a multitude of sins, lol.
  6. that came out great, followed the build, terrific job!
  7. thanks guys got the headlights on today, and am currently working on the fuel tanks. the tank seams were horrid, so after some filing and putty, I have one ready to either paint or BMF, can't decide which way to go. still have to putty the other one yet. I think maybe by the weekend this will be done.
  8. I like it! cab looks great!
  9. almost there....... so far, the biggest issues were what was mentioned earlier, hood hinge/hood fit/bumper in the way. the door pins/hinges weren't too awful bad, but the hood has really messed with me, but I think I got it. also had a bit of a war with the exhaust front pipe, but I think that may have been due to operator error
  10. that's freakin cool! nice build, that's a neat piece!
  11. well, my picture taking sucks, but, what can ya expect from a cell phone camera?? second completion for this year [yes, it was a left over from 13, but done just the same ] other than the decals 'silvering', i'm happy with it. it's actually this color, bad lighting around here..... thanks for looking
  12. this thing is just cool man, cool!
  13. that's a good thing, my wifes the same way, she calls me her plastic geek now, lol. upside is, now when she tells me to go to my room, i'm happy, haha.
  14. Bob, looking great so far, looks like you know what your doing [or real good at faking it ]. as far as 'getting it past the wife', just do like I did, " honey, it's a mid-life crisis, better it be plastic than buying a flashy sports car we can't afford and hanging out at the bar. plus, i'm home and in the other room" that worked so well, she buys me kits on occasion, and lets me wander hobby lobby on my own [with my own basket no less]
  15. some more progress, almost there, starting to look like something.................. thanks for looking, tom
  16. Robert, they also have picket fence for doll houses, they come in a pack of 5, cut the tips of the fence off, and you pretty much have a pallet
  17. nice build O-man, love it!
  18. what else is there to say? I agree with everyone else, beautiful, stunning and spectacular builds, every one of them.
  19. looks great so far, I have whats left of some frame rails from a diamond reo if you want them to extend your frame, I used part of them to extend the frame on my mack r and log trailer set up.
  20. just love this thing! I have a set of wheels and tires from the re-issued diamond reo amt kit if you are interested.
  21. thanks guys Robert, that floor is actually doll house wood flooring. I bought it at hobby lobby thinking it might work out, after getting home with it it turned out the individual wood 'planks' of the doll house flooring were the same width as the 'plank' details on the trailer floor. overall length was a bit short, but I cut another piece and put that up front. I also stained it with some stuff I had laying around. here is a pic of the flooring
  22. looks good, love the color combo!
