  2. welcome! only advice i can offer is jump in with both feet oh, and get comfortable and read all you can here, amazing wealth of info here. i have just gotten back into building in the past few months and have learned lot here, a great bunch of folks here too, always willing to help out. again, welcome.
  3. Jeff, thanks, great reference for the look i need, know exactly what you mean [how it turns out,......we will see, lol] Clayton, thank you, i have wondered how to get that look, great bit of info!
  4. hi all. i found some necklace chain at hobby lobby that is real close to the bit of chain that comes in the amt flatbed trailer kit. found it in silver and a gunmetal looking color, the big question is, what the heck do i use for hooks? i have seen the chain binders on the 'bay, but no hooks. what're you all using?
  5. sweet, nice clean looking build, well done. looks great with the trailer behind it.
  6. as mentioned, wild colors, but boy, you pulled it off! great looking rig.
  7. she's a beauty! I like the two tone blue, wouldn't have thought light blue would look that good on that truck, good choice.
  8. thanks for the kind words guys, much appreciated.
  9. Doobie and Clayton, I was looking at those parts the other day, and yes, they do look quite fragile will have to address that for sure when I get to it. thanks for the heads up. now, onto to good bits making progress on the power plant, have most of the frame/running gear together and painted [currently in dehydrator]. question.....frame is gloss black, should air bags be flat black or gray as indicated by the instructions? [who follows those??]

  19. good call, where were you last month? I may have to revisit this thing and try to bmf them on the truck, or maybe paint them black.
  20. that looks big, mean, nasty and ugly [in a good way ]
  21. good looking rig right there.
  22. ah man, now the pressure is on, lol. got the cab/hood/doors/fenders in primer in the dehydrator. I glued parts of the sleeper together for preparation of wash/sand before prime. I taped the sleeper together with the floor in place, then glued the front wall [the pass thru to the cab part] on one side to one side of a sleeper side, and glued the back wall to the opposite side sleeper side, I figure in this way I can sand/prime both inside and out at once, and have two halves, rather than fight to paint stuff inside a box, if that makes sense. also made some progress on the frame. will post up some pic's tomorrow. thanks for following along.
  23. that's pretty cool! nice job.
  24. that's sweet! looks like the old girl has had some salt in that box
