What non-auto model did you get today?

Pretty much echo what everyone else has said, everything looks fantastic, and the colors are just gorgeous.

I like the look in that last pic. as to the pro street frame/tubs, I’ve used the revell 67 pro street kit ‘back half’ under a 59 caddy, 41 Plymouth coupe, a Lindberg 66 chevelle and got one mostly grafted onto a moebius pick up. That particular back half has a nice cross rail in front of the wheel tubs, makes for the perfect place to cut, so you end up with a great area to attach the existing frame of whatever it is you use it under after you cut the back half of the kits floor/frame off.

Coming along nice, love the colors, and that dash…….., gorgeous!

Thanks for the positive comments guys, much appreciated. Snake, thanks for that heads up, haven’t even looked at the glass yet…. the paint is actual Marlboro maroon , mixed by a body shop and put in a spray can. It was for another project years ago, and turned out to be the wrong color for that particular build. My process is simple, normal body prep ( mold line removal, knock the peaks down on fender/quarters, quick sanding with 2k paper), prime with model primer , then prime with automotive primer from a spray can,( helps when using hotter paints) wet sand that, then sling some paint. I’ve developed a method of quick and close when painting, I rarely get orange peel anymore, and have learned the limits so I don’t get runs/sags. After the color coat dries, I hit it with clear, usually 3-4 coats. After that cures, I’ll wet sand with 2k, then 3k and then 5K , then I’ll hit it with Meguiars 105 then 205 and polish it out. here’s the paint,

Another group build with some buddies, we are doing birth year builds , so I chose the 69 vette. I picked Marlboro maroon for body color, and tan for the interior. Didn’t want to use rally wheels, so I robbed the wheels ( hub caps) from a 70 impala kit to replicate the corvette deluxe wheel covers. Hope to keep working on this and the Camaro regularly in the next few weeks. Thanks for looking.

This is not the first time we’ve done this, but the last builds we did were in fact mirror images, hopefully Jeff will post a pic of his.

Wow, she’s a beauty Ken, another fabulous build from your garage . -
Haha, the best plans always go south. I started mine and the yellow and I didn’t get along very well, so off in the pond it went. As I was waiting for the paint to come off, I looked around the paint stash and found a suitable color, shot Jeff a text and told him my color plans had changed. In my infinite wisdom, I also decided to do a non RS version. So, so much for twin builds, haha. So here is where I’m at now ….

It would seem that you fellas have no idea how long it takes a pack mule to get around these days…..?

Another great looking car hauler project you’ve got going on here! I gotta admit though, you make me mad, cause every time you do one, I think to myself, man, I gotta do one like that too, and I already have enough projects/squirrels running around the build room! Haha! Keep it up man, looking great ? -

Ford C800 Gar-Wood Load Packer. It's Happening!
tbill replied to chuckyr's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
After thinking about this for awhile, I made myself chuckle. We as a group think nothing of spending $60-$80 for a resin cab and then have to use a $30-$40 kit to finish it out, probably spend another $50 or so on other resin odds and ends cause the kit parts don’t go with the cab we bought, then we need tires, cause the kit ones are horrible, so $200 later we can now build the model, but shoot, now we need decals…..,$20-$30 later we are set, all of a sudden, that $91 seems plausible ……. tongue in cheek fellas, we are a bunch of finicky things, ain’t we? Lol -

$91 will seem cheap after the first run and done….. we’ve seen it before, $75 for the revell Pete tri axle wrecker kit, now they are insane money…..
