I feel your pain. I need a couple myself and couldn't find them separate. VCG has carb sets with 2bbl in them but you'd have to spring for the set to get them, and there are different sets for Holley, Carter, Rochester, and Autolite at $8.00 per. https://www.vcgresins.com/shop/engines-and-engine-parts I went back and looked and they all show as sold out. Sometimes its the mold. If the mold has had too many castings done on it its not viable anymore. The caster has to remake the mold and that takes time & effort, and a lot of them are just too busy to remake molds. Just one possibility.

I think the others are just simpler. According to what I've read, Weaver was first putting out a wrecker boom, then Holmes came out with a twin boom wrecker (from the Holmes history site). Looking at subsequent booms they are just simpler designs than Wagner, and thus easier to replicate. This is only my guess, but I can tell you from trying to duplicate one its a lot of parts.

I'd start simple, and with something you actually need/want. It makes all the patience needed easier. My first part was a pipe clamp I need in a different size than what I had. I threw a few other early designs in there too. The more you do, the easier it gets so just get started.

I didn't plan to make it for sale, I will however post it to my Cults3D page when I'm done and you can download the file and have someone print it. I'll make a thread when that happens, but it won't be soon.

Well, after making all the mods to my Fairlane chassis, I couldn't get the back half to work. Once it came out too high, now its sits angled down so I wound up printing a universal chassis I designed and cut it to fit. Still needs a couple of crossmembers, the floor pans fabbed and installed but at least now I see the light. I had to take a break from it to see the forest for the trees. Now for some more body cleanup, and prime it. I think maybe painting it will give me the kick in the rear it seems I need.

Thanks for the info Bill, I'm actually designing a Wagner crane to print someday. I'm using a Mini Art 1/35 kit for the measurements and basic structure, then I'll upscale it to 1/24 to print it. I'm designing it in sections like the kit. It won't be an exact replica but it will work for what I have in mind. The first two pics are my drawings in CAD and the last one is of printed prototypes scaled up.

Great idea and nice start! I've done a couple of simple ones but would really like to do something similar.

The positive side of resin is that you can more often find modern tread patterns, or even radials and it isn't really that hard to make them fit if you have a rotary tool with a round sanding drum. I print my own and do frequently have to size them to fit, but its not really a big problem for me.

You are correct, and I knew that but age-related brain fog caused me to miss that. I too select lacquer when ordering, duh!

Here is one I hope to do before the end of the year for the Powered by Ford CBP. Its going to be built in the Shelby style similar to the 1956 "Snakebit" F100. It will have a Ford Powerstroke diesel engine for kicks.

I'm doing this as a day 2 restoration instead of a day 2 new car because I used a restoration to get most of my info. I started this to just do a build w/o my usual mods, etc and just have fun (though I did wire the disty). Had to strip the dash to repaint, and have to detail the steering wheel, and BMF the door panels. Otherwise its assembly time!

You say you like Scalefinishes lacquer but in reading the info on their site it says their paint enamel paint. I always thought it was lacquer too until I finally read the whole "Read Before Use" page.

Yes, they do have the centers, and a nice lace decal I might add.

Me, I don't mind so much seeing a car like that for sale, what spins me up is when I see hoarders with rare cars sitting out in the open rotting, and with vegetation growing through them. Now that I hate!!

Can you show a pic of one in the slicer? I printed some transparent green lenses for my C-cab and I supported them from the rear.

Keep in mind folks, many (I think most) of these cars are going out as leased, not bought. People look at how much it costs them per month, not the total cost of the vehicle because they aren't keeping it. The last time I went to look for a newish vehicle for my wife, salespeople didn't even have time for me because I wasn't interested in buying or leasing their fully loaded tech laden money makers.

Correct! I had an 83 Camaro and I put a chip in it for a little more power. Yeah, they had a computer in '85.

I picked up the new Revell 64 Impala Lowrider kit. I'm not planning on making it a lowrider, but I want it "in the weeds". I have been working on the AMT 64 kit and have done a lot of work on it but there is so much to do to get it where I wanted so I just gave up. The Revell kit is so much better to me. The trunk is already opened, the frame is separate from the body pan and the height is adjustable, and the interior has separate door panels. I've bought and designed a lot of parts for it and now I can finally build the 64 the way I've wanted to. Btw, I'll be trading the LR wheels & tires if anyone's interested. They're nice if that's what you're into.

I've had my best success using Scalefinishes, which is an enamel base coat It goes on smooth, and predictable for me. I've also had good success with MCW. I love lacquers, as they go on smoothly and predictably as well. For some reason I don't have great success with acrylics, though I've got a lot of it. Maybe I'm just mentally challenged at airbrushing. ?

C'mon now, you don't remember being asked why is the back of your car was so high? Think of the faux gasser look (street freaks to some, tho it was never a thing where I lived) with the front end pointing to the sky. Young folks do dumb stuff to their cars, and other young folks love it!
