  1. This is (obviously) great news. Round2 is listening and delivering! I'll have to get a '60 to duplicate the trucks I drove when I worked for the City of Dearborn in the mid-seventies. The unibody '61-'63 is just too cool to pass up.
  2. I thought that just happened on the first-generation Mustangs!
  3. It would be nice to also make a '70 XL out of this tool.
  4. The '69 Wildcat had a 430, while the '70 had a 455. The Riviera used the same engine as the Wildcat in the respective years. There are always a lot of '69 Riviera parts on Ebay.
  5. I'd go for a '58 Thunderbird hardtop or '59 convertible, or a '59 Invicta.
  6. This is high on my list, too. All in due time ...
  7. U.S. Royal opened a plant in Detroit in 1941 next to Belle Isle. I believe it was the site of the Olds Motor Works plant that was destroyed by fire forty years earlier in 1901. The Uniroyal plant closed in 1981 and was eventually torn down.
  8. My teacher bought an Emberglo '66 Mustang hardtop that year. We were told not to touch it! She drove a '57 Mercury before that.
  9. They had a dark green and a turquoise available for '66.
  10. Yes, I was surprised as that's something I wouldn't have done. I didn't care for the color choices either, and the tangerine small block was odd looking.
  11. AMT did a 3-pack of unassembled kits of 1953 models (Ford, Studebaker, Pontiac) using the promo bodies. Their promos started using the non-acetate plastic during the 1961 model car season. What about the 1/20th scale Packard ambulance and the (1/25th?) Divco milk truck? How about it, Round2?
  12. correct, it's probably 1/27th scale
  13. Hemmings Muscle Machines did an article on a '72 440-6. It was stated that probably 18 Chargers and Road Runners were built in August of '71 with this engine.
  14. Factory stock Magnum and Mirada models would be nice.
  15. It will come back since so many like the design or wish they had bought one previously. I'd rather see the '71 GTX and a new '70 GTX, but the Road Runner will sell very well when it returns. I thought the '73-'74 looked better.
  16. I was never interested in the big rigs until GMC came out with the Astro 95. The turbine project was run out of Detroit Diesel-Allison's Gas Turbine division in Indianapolis. It was intended for trucks but canceled when the mid-1970s oil embargo occurred. The turbines were eventually used in military helicopters and some other applications. I have the original issue of this kit. Thanks for the kit's history lesson, Lee!
  17. Elton August “The Lawman” Eckstrand (1928-2008) - Find a Grave Memorial
  18. yes, this story is actually true
  19. The SS has always been my favorite Jag. There's one in the Detroit area that I saw at the Meadowbrook Concours.
  20. It wouldn't take much to offer the hidden and exposed headlights on the '68. The same could be done with the '69 and, as mentioned, would require a different interior.
