  1. I think this is what was made: promos: '60 & '61 four-door, '62 coupe, '63 coupe & convertible, '64 coupe & convertible kits: '60 four-door, '61 coupe, '62 coupe, '63 coupe & convertible, '64 coupe & convertible
  2. It would be interesting to compare sales figures for car kits vs. Star Trek vs. 1/18th scale diecast.
  3. I never noticed that before, so I just looked at the brochures for both years. I considered ordering an '87 Monte Carlo SS but didn't like the idea of decals cracking and shrinking, so I ordered an El Camino instead.
  4. The '86 had bucket seats in gray or maroon; the '87 had bucket seats in gray, maroon and saddle. Interestingly, bucket seats were optional. A cloth and vinyl bench seat was standard, with a fancier cloth (CL option) bench optional.
  5. Kits of new cars without an engine aren't a deal breaker for me since most engines have a huge plastic panel covering the top of the engine, effectively obliterating any engine detail. It isn't like the old days where you had a cross-ram manifold setup, tri-power, dual-quads, or a 283/327 with Fuel Injection.
  6. 1948 Chevrolet Wagon in Toys & Hobbies for sale | eBay
  7. Here is the 1/28th 1948 Pontiac promo by National Products. It came in several colors.
  8. As already stated, this is great news. I hope they will also consider doing others such as the '48 Pontiac Streamliner (long wheelbase) or Torpedo (short wheelbase) sedan-coupe (Pontiac's name for this body style). Here is my Dad's '48 Streamliner:
  9. Who made the '69 Super Bee?
  10. That will be disappointing if there are no improvements other than the tires and decals, but I'll buy it anyway.
  11. A complete kit should come with plated parts.
  12. An earlier thread on this car indicated that Atlantis planned to make improvements to the tooling.
  13. sounds like some litigation was involved
  14. Yes, there are plenty of old kits and promos with more sales potential. It wouldn't be too difficult to buy the newer Edsel kit and do your own customization.
  15. that is correct; they were also standard on the '65 Malibu SS396 with different center caps.
  16. Maybe you could apply silicone caulk on a flat portion of the vinyl roof to make a vinyl pattern. After the caulk dries, peel it off. Apply a skim coat of Bondo over the depression on the driver's side of the roof. Smooth it as well as you possibly can. When the Bondo is drying but not too tacky, gently press the caulk blob over the repaired area.
  17. I went to the Ford Crown Victoria National Meet at the end of July in Detroit. It was at a hotel along Ford Road across the street from Dearborn. Here are three Meteors I saw. Coincidentally, two were mint green. One had a white accent zig zag while the second was mint green and white with a black zig zag.
  18. My nephew had one of these Caprices. It had 365 net horsepower and was really quick off the line and strong through the gears. He sold it since he has a Corvette and recently bought a new car.
  19. The first car is identical to the 1948 Pontiac Streamliner that my Dad had. Next is a 1939 Dodge with a Hayes body used by Dodge, Chrysler and DeSoto from 1939-1940. Lastly, a 1938 Pontiac with body by Holden. These are referred to in Australia and New Zealand as "Slopers" and were made from the mid-1930s to the early 1940s and were available from Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Buick, too. Chrysler Corporation also had a similar style available. Note how all have sloping "B" pillars and how elegant they look compared to the Dodge.
  20. I have never seen a '68 XL in any color other than that yellow, which was not the factory color. It was available at S.S. Kresge for $1.00. I wanted to buy it, but Mom was in a hurry to go shopping elsewhere in the mall. Let me tell you, I paid a lot more for one decades later! I also have a '68 Toronado in an awful blue color. It was a Jo-Han tool but marketed by AMT. That promo friction was only available in one color. I don't recall what AMT called those loud colors.
