  1. I sat in one at the Woodward Cruise. It was easy to fall into, but difficult to get out of! I think the mid-engine design is fine. The styling is a bit busy and would look better if the side scoop (air intake) was the same color as the body.
  2. Is the '57 Bel Air with an opening trunk the same one that has a separate frame and floorpan?
  3. there was a 1960 Comet 4-door promo ...
  4. Another difference is the '55 Thunderbird has racing flag emblems above the grille and on the trunk lid. The '56 has bird emblems in the same locations. The '55 has never been reissued.
  5. Besides the methods used by Rob, consider purchasing promotional model car boxes for completed kits and promotional models.
  6. Is that Berwyn, Illinois? Why does Svengoolie always make jokes about it?
  7. The CVS store near me only carries 1/43 now. I didn't know about Lowe's and have never seen any at any Home Depot. Menard's used to carry them and I've gotten a few at Walgreen's.
  8. Too bad I only went to Detroit Dragway once (1973). I wish I had been able to see the Thunderbolts race. It's now a storage facility. Once the Fairlane hardtop came out as a 1963 model, I really liked them. There were a lot of K-code Mustangs and Fairlanes around the Detroit area. I can count on one hand how many Yarborough and Gurney Specials I have seen since that day in 1969.
  9. Yes, that bright yellow was an odd choice for that. If it had been molded in Crocus Yellow, the pale yellow offered by Chevrolet, that would have been nice.
  10. Fairlane Club of America National Meet - General Discussion - Antique Automobile Club of America - Discussion Forums (aaca.org)
  11. They were missing from the store near me a couple of weeks ago. I was a bit surprised, but they are closing many of their stores so stocking diecast vehicles is the least of their worries.
  12. I have all of the Falcons I want ('60-'66) but I always thought the '64 was the best looking, followed by the '65. A '63 Sprint hardtop is a great idea.
  13. I think most on this board would want Round2 to prioritize the cloning of the '66 Skylark GS, '67 Cougar, '67 Camaro SS and '68 Torino GT Indy Pace Cars, '69 Mach1 promo, '69 Coronet R/T, '70 or '71 Cyclone GT, '71 Challenger R/T, '71 or '72 Road Runner. For the big cars, probably do the '62 Galaxie 500, '64 Grand Prix, '64 and '65 Wildcat, '67 and '68 XL, and '68 and '69 Impala SS427. Eventually, doing both generations of the Falcon would be nice.
  14. The Chevelle SS 283 and 327 have a small engine displacement emblem on each front fender while the 396 has a large crossed-flag emblem there. Also, 'Malibu SS' is on the quarter panels on the regular SS while it's on the front fenders on the 396. I expect Round2 to clone an original '65 SS at some point.
  15. Pyro made some nicely proportioned and detailed 1/32nd scale, multi-piece bodies. The kits could have used real rubber tires instead of molded plastic. I can't think of anything Palmer did that is worth doing. Some of their 1970s subject matter was interesting, but all of their kits were terrible and not true to scale.
  16. a '66 Charger would be more likely since MPC made it; the '57-'68 Chryslers were made by Jo-Han and Round2 has plenty of old tooling to fix or improve upon
  17. It's slightly smaller than 1/25th scale, and so is the '51 Chieftain.
  18. The Rite Aid stores around here (Detroit area) carry 1/24th Maisto diecast unboxed models.
  19. just keep them coming!
  20. I'm resigned to eventually getting resin kits of both - if someone sees enough demand to produce them. The problem I have with most resin kits is you are paying good money for them and then have to get the chrome parts plated somewhere.
  21. Hopefully we will see '66 Satellite and '66 Coronet 500 kits after this?
  22. I had suggested on this forum that a worthwhile project would be to recreate the '65 Wildcat body, grille and bumpers, and create the correct '66 Wildcat interior. Someone on the forum commented that most people wouldn't care about the correct interior. That may be true, but it would be a more worthwhile project than some of the kit re-releases we've seen. I did suggest it to someone at Round2 who looks at this forum. A forum member recommended using a '68 Bonneville dashboard for the '66 Wildcat since it's somewhat similar. I'd like to see '67 and '68 Wildcat hardtop kits, since no big Buick kit or promo was produced for either year. I drove a '68 in high school and early college. They certainly wouldn't sell as well as the earlier Wildcats or other big cars that you suggested. The chassis is the same as the '65 and '66.
  23. All Round2 has to do is clone an MPC '66 Bonneville kit. No need to do anything with the Hasegawa version. A '65 Wildcat or a '64 Grand Prix, Bonneville or Wildcat, could be cloned from an original kit and sell very well.
  24. Dodge made a Ute before WWII, but I'm not sure if Chrysler and Plymouth did. All of them made Utes after the war.
  25. Hopefully we will finally get a '62 Grand Prix kit at some point, then a '63 ...
