misterNNL replied to Freeman Cars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
You said this fastback was the first of three bodies you were planning based on the Foose-illac.What are the others? -
Jim Hall Camaro Trans Am 70 Camaro body?
misterNNL replied to vintageslotcars's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Believe it or don't I have seen flares done very cleanly by grafting on sections of plastic ping pong ball.Looks great when finished and naturally the material is very strong. -
The aircraft fasteners word I used was possibly a poorly chosen term.I meant the Duetz(sp?) fastners sometimes used to secure hood and trunk panels in place where a flat edge tool like a screw driver was inserted into a slot in the center of the fastener and given a half turn to open the panel.I thought something like that might enhance the aircraft look even further.I seems to me those were round in shape and were flush mounted into the panels for streamlining.Possibly someone that has "strayed" into model aircraft can offer additional information.

I am not norm a Mopar fan but this certainly has the right look in stance, paint and attention to details.Congranulations on a superb model.I love it.

Good choice for something different in your display case.I have an olds speedster based on the JF resin body based on this same body.Looks very cool and a fun ride in 1:1 scale.

How does your family deal?
misterNNL replied to Jeff31293's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I am blessed to be have been married to my best friend for 53 years. She has always been very supportive of all my many and varied interests which includes model building.Nothing in the world is more important than my family, never has been, never will be.We had two children to whom we dedicated our time and energy to while they were still at home.Yes I did build models during that period.I was heavily involved in the MPC contest series then and displayed models that took a year or more to complete, but not one minute of that time was taken away from our family.I was at every sporting event, science fair or what ever else was happening.I realized early on that those times were only going to happen once so that's where my focus should be. I have been building models for about 60 years along with other time consuming interests including being an avid reader, toy and antique collected,3-D art, church activities, president of our local historical society, mentoring at school and other stuff.I am not posting these to brag in any way but to point out that if we are selfless enough to keep our priorities in the proper order there probably won't be family issues to deal with. Don't take any of the things I have posted as being the priorities You should have,as they are my opinion and how I choose to live my life. Also please don't assume that my models are important to me,I have a constant cruise-in rolling through my mind of models I want to build. That I call it my "Headbone Nationals" and it never stops. This hobby has blessed me with some of the best life long friends imaginable. One of our children died in a horrible car accident decades ago....who was there in the hospital for support....then later at his funeral to grieve with us...those life long model building friends. Enough said.Plan your priorities correctly and you will rewarded. -
Very slick!Thanks for sharing.

Vintage Popcorn Wagon
misterNNL replied to gasser59's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's the great thing about choosing something as obscure as this for a project. If you can't find the information concerning the exact floor plan for this truck I'm quite sure no one else will pointing out that any particular is incorrect or that you'll be getting a letter from the vintage popcorn wagon owners association scolding you for incorrect details:) The only place you might find more information might be the Popcorn Museum located in Port Clinton(?),Ohio.I was there a long time ago and at that time they has two originals on display. As always inspiring work! -
I hope you find your visits to the forums as enjoyable as the rest of us do.Welcome indeed!

Great concept.I love the random panels with varying colors as well. Are you planning on this being a street car or race vehicle? If the latter is your choice the roll cage is going to need some serious addition of bracing. That may all be a moot point though considering the chopped top allows minimum views of the interior.I personally might use some aircraft fasteners where the body panels are joined and the hood and trunk access hatch lids meet their adjoining panels. Thanks for daring to take a different direction with your project and for sharing it with us.

I have tried to find unsuccessfully to find the under construction photos of the Southern Cal Speed Shop Bonneville HHR.I was able to locate some specs and images of the finished car by searching under the name Canepa. This car ran over 200 MPH using a turbo charged version of the 2 liter Ecotec engine.
-
I also have the JF HHR resin bodys in my stash.I plan on cutting mine up and building a Bonneville salt flats car. There are some on line showing the necessary body modifications if you dig deep enough.Good luck with yours.

Great imagination and execution. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have any progress photos of any of these trucks as they were being built? If you do please consider posting them.Thanks.

Love this build!you are absolutely correct about the '32 being a model B so the B-bucket is very appropriate indeed. The speedster look is super hot right now and this one is right on the money with correct stance, round fuel tank and the transverse arched rear spring very visible. Thanks so much for sharing.
