  1. If you are planning to maintain that super low stance you must be planning a deeply channeled interior floor plan. That will probably will also include a radical frame kick up right behind the seats.I am not suggesting that you do any of these things but thinking out loud about what I would do.I love the precision of your slices and dices on the panel fits.Great inspiration for those of us that prefer to build these iconic cars from the 1920's and '30's.
  2. I tried to access these and get a "this file does not exist" message.
  3. Warren, one of the handiest tools I use for scratch building is an aluminum ruler called"Murphey' s Rule lll".I bought it decades ago and I understand is is no longer available. It has 1/25 measurements in feet and inches on one edge and 1/43 on the other. If you PM me your mailing address I will gladly send you a photocopy in the mail.
  4. I personally find the side profile out of proportion with the wheelbase length.Pulling the rear wheel well back would naturally be one solution but the in turns adds a whole lot of work with adding length to the whole undercarriage.I might be tempted to close the rear wheel well to draw less attention to it. Then there's that huge rear deck behind the glass. To improve the design flow there you might consider abandoning the hardtop and grafting in that same section from a fleetline body or creating a mid 60's Corvette fastback or Buick Rivera profile. You're a brave soul my friend as this is like any radical custom project a daunting task.Good luck.I'll be watching to see where this goes and thanks for sharing.
  5. Great project tripleR.I am anxious to see the front end design develop.
  6. Please keep it low and streetable.Just because it's a Willys doesn't mean it has to be built as a gasser
  7. Great kit bash idea! I imagine we'll see more of this being done.
  8. Love this build.I always loved the styling of the '58's.Thanks for sharing.
  9. I like your clean and well detailed building style. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Welcome to the best forums.I retired a few years ago and love building whenever I choose to.This is truly the Golden age of modeling my friend.
  11. I'm sure you'll find everything you'll ever need here to help with your building.Welcome to the best forums in the hobby.
  12. Justin,I wanted to let you know that the roadster you posted a photo of with the side curtains is a featured car in the Sept 2017 issue of Hot Rod Deluxe magazine. The article is titled "against all odds" and has some great photos of all aspects of this car.I'm liking where your build is headed. Thanks again for sharing your talent with us.
  13. Diesel punk for sure and it's the rarely seen coupster body style as well.Very well done. Thanks for sharing.
  14. I found an unbuilt AMT '37 Chevy convertible kit today in an antique mall, decent price so I bought it.Project # 469 now in my line up of stuff I'd kind of like to build before I kick the bucket.
  15. I have never kept track of the dollars going into a build but at my age I seriously think about wether or not I need to spend another $ 25.00 for a kit that I most probably will not ever build.
  16. Glad that you've joined.Welcome!
  17. I can't say that these forums will help you decide what to build next but there surely will be a lot of inspiration to view.Glad to see another builder as a member on the forums.Welcome!
  18. From what I remember, this looking really cool.So if I call PB (: can they how cool it looks now after your recent updates?
  19. You guys are 100 percent correct on the spelling of the rnanufacutrer's name spelling.I re-read those 1910 notes and "Waterous" is exactly what it was.I still plan on reading those papers to see I can find out some more information the firetruck itself.
  20. I love the cowl steering idea.I did the same thing on my '21 Olds speedster and I added a thin layer of styrene behind the teardrop piece using that same shape only slightly larger then added a row of rivets aroung the edge so it looks like it's riveted to the body.If you're intrested in seeing mine just PM me your address and i'll send you a photo. I vote in favor of the side curtain in place look.I have never seen that done in scale and think it would lend very realistic and nostalgic look to your project.
  21. Do you know the origin of the body?I am assuming it was a resin item probably based on the old MPC(?) Kit.
  22. Great project.Nice touch adding the local town businesses with decals.
  23. You could be right about the spelling. These are hand written long hand pen and ink village council records from 1909.I plan on doing more research as time permits.Every village expenditure was posted in our village newspaper so I have a three foot thick stack of 100 + year old very well preserved newspapers to sort through and read.
  24. Thanks "sfhess",I couldn't see the woods 'cause all the trees were in the way!
