  2. Great job on this smaller scale classic. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Very cool change in design. This will be one of a kind.
  4. Thanks for sharing your excellent photos with us.Very nice truck model with great paint and details. The use if a plastic lid for rear tire covers/fenders was pretty slick as well.Surely a project to be proud of.
  5. Very inspiring build.I like everything you have done so far. Thanks for sharing!!
  6. I did some research on the Uschi website and they even offer a specific set # 1008 for the '48 Ford woodie and surf board.I'm sure it could be used on the Merc woodie or any other kit where you are looking to replicate very realistic wood grain effects.
  7. Thanks Pat,I was assuming it was a scratch built project.
  8. Since the NNL started in my garage in 1980 I think can address an and all questions anyone might have concerning the meaning of the name or it's mission.Six regular competitors from the MPC contest series decided we did not want to give up the friendships and common intrests we had found during our meetings at those early contests. As a result I suggested we meet at our house in Jackson Center,Ohio and bring along any models we had built or were were working on along with any photos of slides(remember those?) and catch up with what had been happening in our lives. We gathered in our garage,my lovely wife Karen fixed food for all of us and we had a great time! And now the absolute truth about the name.We are the Nameless National Luminaries. That was derived from an article written my Mark Gustafsen from Utah for model car magazine in which he was trying to explain his failed atempt to establish a new national model car contest. That did not happen and we six were actually at least partially responsible for that.Mark is a great guy and modeler but the rules he was proposing were way too compicated and we thought over burdensome. As a result we six regularly heard from modelers from all over the country concernng the upcoming conteset and wether we were going to attend. We resoundingly said No we were not going and nobody we knew was going either. That word evidently spread and as a direct result his first attempt at starting a new national contest failed miserably. His article reflected the fact that the contest had been ruined and I quote"by a group of National Luminaries that shall remain Nameless".My good friend Chuck Helppie was there at our meeting with a copy of that article and said I quote"I guess that make us Nameless National Luminaries dosen't it!"Thus the true origin and the meaning behind the name. If anyone has any further questons please ask,and thanks for being patient enough to read all of my ramblings.
  9. Another modeling solution from the best model car forums available anywhere!
  10. Thanks, that's some pretty neat reference material right there. Also thanks for the door panel link.
  11. I like the direction this is headed.Your fab work on the rear suspension is looking neat as heck as well. Those C10's practically beg to be bagged don't they. Thanks for sharing with us.
  12. Your side sheets on the trailer look translucent. What material are you using?
  13. I really like what you accomplished here.Great detail work and paint also. These are very rare cars so where did you ever find reference material that had images of those interior door panels? It's details like those panels that IMHO make for very interesting models. Thanks for taking the time to take all these very crisp and clear photo to share!
  14. Thanks Eric.I do not do well with decals in the first place so I may not get into these.Yours look outstanding in place,The floor pan does indeed tie in with the dash design very well. Are you going to add any chrome to that center section of the dash? The narrowing side spears you added to the instrument cluster are a very neat art deco feature but disappear under that beautiful burled wood of the main dash panel. This build is without a doubt inspiring builders worldwide to try new techniques and expand their horizons of just what is possible in our hobby. This project is rounding third and headed for home it seems. We are all looking forward to every update. Thanks for taking so many detail photos and explaining what you are doing.
  15. Welcome to the forums. You'll find a lot of inspiration and wealth of information here.Enjoy!!
  16. Congratulations on your retirement.I did the same thing six years ago and highly recommend it.Welcome to the forums. You'd be hard pressed to find a nicer group of like minded people that are willing to help with questions or assisting in locating needed parts.

Great period piece. Thanks for not slapping chrome wheels on it too,not everyone had the money for those and rattle can paint was a cheap alternative that worked well. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Superbly done Impala!Mile deep and super smooth paint, outstanding graphics and so much more. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Unusual color choices that work well togeather.Don't let this be your last model T build.
  20. Great model of an unusual vehicle.I see a lot if likes coming this caster' s way.
  21. Absolutely bench mark work!
  22. What is your opinion of the Uschi wood grain decal products? They look very transparent in your photos.I take it that would mean any color shading or weathering would need to be done in advance of the decal application.
  23. That roof piece might just be a dandy place to install a pair of 50's Caddy bumper "Dagmars":)
  24. This just more incredibiler and wondererfuler with every update.
