  1. Absolutely outstanding work!
  2. Adding my two cents worth it would not be impossible to add a lot if the missing details with what I see in these forums being done with computer generated parts being cut out of styrene sheet with machines like Crickut(?) and others used in the scrapbooking hobby.
  3. The first photo was actually very cool and just might inspire some to attempt to clone it in scale.I noticed the highboy did not have any visible headlights.Maybe the luck guy was going racing.
  4. Looking very good.Nice to see a glue bomb saved and turned into such a righteous ride.I love the computer generated cut out parts. Thanks for sharing.
  5. You seem to be working like a mad man on this, unafraid to cut deeply and often going where no VW has gone before.Great project!be sure to keep us up to date and thanks for sharing.
  6. FYI the windshield in your photo is actually a Hallock style. The basic difference between it and the Duval id that the Duval has a frame on all four sides of the glass and the Hallock has no frame at the top edge.Great reference photo BTW.
  7. Thanks ray.Seems like someone always knows of another method if we're willing to ask.
  8. Great idea Ray.I stayed with my original thought of using evergreen .125" half round.I glided 8 whole strips flat down to .023" sheet styrene as I am replicating closed blinds that will be seen through 10 Windows in a 20' Airfloat vintage travel trailer that I am scratch building. The blinds will stand back ever so slightly from the inside the walls on some .080" square styrene strips. The Airfloats had distinctive horizontal corrugated side sheet metal so the closed blinds should complement that design feature. The trailer will be painted Spaz Stix chrome to simulate highly polished aluminum so the blinds will be white.I am still looking for a supply of teardrop shaped marker lights for this project.I put an ad in the "wanted"forum but got no responses. To see what an Airfloat trailer looks like log into Pintrest and search for Airfloat trailers. They were built from 1930 until 1957 in L.A.
  9. Thanks for your expert help!I have it solved.Merry Christmas to all!!
  10. I am looking for a way to create 1/25 window blinds for my current project.I am considering using .125" half round evergreen stock as the ends will not be visible.Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
  11. The only upgrade possible from that would be unobtainium 60.
  12. I did find a spec sheet on line just now that lists a real "knuckle draggin"street aluminum hemi equipped with a single 1050 dominator carb with a listed weight of 527 lbs.each x 2 =1,054 lbs. They also are stating that a graphite(!)block is now available for hard core race usage. That all being said, you team could start filling their on- board keg with lite beer to level the nose a little):
  13. Outstanding model with superb realism and detailing. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Outstanding realism.Thanks for sharing!
  15. would be willing to consider "shaping" the hand nozzles for antique gas pumps?
  16. Incredible realism!Weathering make it look super realistic. Thanks for sharing.
  17. I did a little weight checking just now and two Chrysler Hemis would check in at a total of about 1,500 pounds.I'm just saying that the driver had better keep it moving and might want to opt for "rolling start"water drags.Cool concept overall. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Really a neat project with great vision for repurposing the '53 Revell Chris Craft boat.I am still taking pieces off of the one I have by using the side Windows for building some vintage camp trailers from the '30's and '40's.Thanks for sharing.
  19. Thanks for the link you sent.Outstanding skills and execution in all areas.Truly a benchmark build!!
  20. Looking very cool! Are there pix of the yellow custom posted anywhere?
  21. I got a chance to talk with Don and Carol at the NNL Nationals in October.Don lost an argument with his table saw and cut the end of three fingers including half of his right index finger. As if that wasn't bad enough while driving Don home from the emergency room Carol hit a large horse that was standing in the middle of the road which totaled their car.Losing a child as they have as an unimaginable hurdle enough in anyone's life(my wife and I still coping with the death if a child over 20 years ago)the saw accident and car wreck just added to the stress. You are right they have always have been and still are a class act. Please keep them in your prayers.
  22. Absolutely Gorgeous work!!
  23. These are great fun to lok at guys. Please keep them coming!
  24. I see my first one being built without any worries about wheelbase, towing capacity, number of driving wheels or number of doors.Mine will a ground scraping mild custom with smooth body mods and slick paint.Of course this build would have to wait it's turn in line behind way too many other projects but will be a welcome addition to the styrene stash.
