  1. The louvered hood for a roof insert is a brilliant choice.Great.....now I have to try and find a couple of those for future builds!
  2. This could be interesting.I'd put it on the ground and have exposed exhaust headers, but that's just my style and your possibilities are of course unlimited.
  3. Alan, did anything happen with locating the builder of these trailers or with you being able to cast the Airfloat trailer?I live just two blocks from the Airstream factory and have photographed their 1935 Bowlus Road Chief.I have detailed photocopies of it In 1/25 scale as well with dimensions.
  4. Looking very slick. It's starting to look like something from a coach builder's shop from the 1930's or '40's.
  5. wow!Great stuff. It all makes sense now that I see it spelled out in detail. Thanks for sharing your tech with me.It is greatly appreciated.I will defenitly be using this soon.I just finished a 1921 Olds speedster based on a Jimmy Flintstone resin body and am not all that pleased with the black seat I used.I just may repaint that tomorrow with something more harmonious to the yellow body.If you will PM me your email address I will send you some pix of it. Thanks again for the help!!..........Tom Woodruff
  6. This is looking so very fine.I agree with all of your choices for colors as well. Will you please share your tech for getting that oh so perfect leather look surface to styrene.I have a couple projects that could surely benefit from that look. Thanks !!
  7. Harry, your stuff is always inspirational.Unique subject matter done masterfully!
  8. Some time ago someone posted pix of a model with the seats covered with either Mexican or Indian style blanket material. This builder said they had found some ribbon that already had that pattern on it and simply cut the size they needed and glued it to the seat.I have looked everywhere(?)in fabric and craft stores with no luck.I have done one with the tape and thread method and am really not all that pleased with the result. If you have some extra to sell or can suggest a source I would certainly appreciate the help. Thanks!!
  9. The decision to eliminate the bumpers and brackets is absolutely the correct thing to do.That lengthens those beautiful curved front fenders and visually improves the overall design.
  10. I really like where this project is headed, very curvy, smooth and art deco influenced. What company released this kit?
  11. How was the Columbia two speed engaged on those early cars?I drove a Ford straight truck for a few years in the 1960's as part of my job delivering air cargo and that was activated with a small pull knob fastened on the right side of the floor shift knob where I could easily pull it up or push it down with two fingers as needed.
  12. Nice splice on that chassis, very careful planning and clean, straight cuts.
  13. Nice job brother builder.Man I wish we had more of these beautiful 40's cars in kit form!
  14. my intention was to reinforce the up side of having a positive attitude in life in general and how pleased I am when I see those who are that way.
  15. Nice to see so many great jobs ll on one topic. All show the three "P' s".....planning,patience and polish. Thanks to all for sharing.
  16. Most excellent custom.Extensive surgery very well done and finished. This looks like something from one of the major custom shops. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Great creativity all around from you and your fellow club members.Be sure to post the finished projects when they are done!
  18. We all need to remember that every hour any of us wastes being negative is an hour we can't get back!
  19. Thanks for the inspirational history behind your build and for posting the period B&W photos.Great stuff!
  20. Great cause to support with your local NNL event. As the originator of the first ever NNL event in my Ohio garage over 30 years ago I whole heartedly support your effort to give back to those who proudly and bravely defend or freedom!
  21. The average age for those with birthdays today is 46.7(am I right this time Harry?)
  22. All detailing can be addictive if allowed to go unchecked.I built an abandonded gas station diorama last year and thought the seams where the tank sections were joined togeather would look better with some rivets so I started drilling holes(!).1,100 holes later it does look better. When someone sees that and they ask me how I did that and I tell them those that are not model builders tend to look over the top of their glasses and after a slight pause......say.......really?
  23. Very ambitious conversion.Good luck.
