  1. Great custom Tom.I have a low rider bike I want to paint that same color. What did you use?
  2. Please tell us what color of Tamiya paint this is!!
  3. Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
  4. Aboslutely stellar parts!Kudos on excellent parts well done.
  5. Love your speedster and would like to see more images of the finished project.I just finished a yellow speedster a couple weeks ago myself based on a resin '21 Olds resin roadster body from Jimmy Flintstone.PM me your email address and I'll send some pix of mine if you're interested.
  6. Nice progress.I realize now that you are building the cartoon one from the Santa Claus movie and not a replica of a real model T with a snow tread conversion kit.Great scratch building on the tracks and skis. It's looking very close to the movie version.I'm sure she will be very pleased. Thanks for sharing your inspiration and progress with us.
  7. Yes Larry that definitely counts. My wife says that one of the differences between men and savings bonds is that eventually savings bonds mature.
  8. The average age if those with birthdays today is 43.625.Does anyone know how old the youngest and oldest members are?
  9. My wife and I both wish you the best possible outcome in your personal battle with this disease. She and I are both cancer survivors. She is a two time breast cancer survivor and has been cancer free for almost 25 years.I am a colon cancer survivor myself so I personally know the feeling of hearing the actual words from your doctor when he delivers the diagnosis.Personal faith and belief in your recovery are very important right now.
  10. Mr Vebber makes the best stuff!!!!
  11. Nice build, but watch it classifing yourself as an "old man".At our age we are still pleased to able to participate in the common hobby we love so much aren't we?Being born and raised in the 1940's gives us a different set of memories and experiences than some other builders.I will build as long as. I am able.Keep building brother!
  12. Should be an interesting build to watch develop.Gotta love those T's!
  13. Neil Armstrong said and I quote"Some people say the glass is half empty, others say it is half full,an engineer will tell the glass is obviously twice as large as it needs to be".
  14. We are on vacation right now with friends one of whom is an elementary school teacher. She confirms that cursive writing is nearly dead in public schools with a hand full of her fellow teachers still encouraging it for their students.I am of the personal opinion that we may be raising generations of children whose socially interactive skills stops at their thumbs.
  15. I do not have a cell phone and Don't want one.Imho they are invasive and in many instances addictive to some who seem to look at them constantly.Does everyone have to be in touch constantly? There are of course those who really need them like those involved in public service(God bless them for all they do)such as police, fire and rescue, medical professionals, etc. But give it rest people, unplug for a change and do something radical like actually write someone a letter for a change.
  16. Right now we're on vacation so it will be a couple of weeks before I can do anything
  17. As one of those"older"modelers you refer to,I do a fair amount of research when before starting any project. One of my current models ready for paint when we get back from vacation is a fully scratch built full custom low rider bike.I looked at a lot of custom builds on line to refine some details while planning and constructing this and saw a lot of gold plating. My opinion of this build was just that, just my opinion. My bike is in 1/25 scale, very long(almost 12 feet),has a hubless front wheel,Springer front end, brass knuckle handle grips, fully enclosed rear wheel and a few other surprises.Old(?),sure....but not necessarily out of touch with what's currently in style.

  19. My username seemed a natural choice as the whole NNL concept started in my garage in 1980 with 5 other guys and the idea for taking the competition out if model car building and replacing it with the fun it was supposed to be.Some giant if a man from Utah wrote about us in one if his magazine articles calling us "a group of National Luminaries who shall remain Nameless".That was 36 years ago and the concept has spread to every continent on earth except Antarctica so we must have created something special.I have no avatar because I don't know how to create one. "Keep calm and remain Nameless"
  20. I finally have an answer to my original question about removing that stubborn coating!A friend if mine's husband works with metal finishes for a living and was willing to work with a sample of my printers plate to help find a solution to this problem. One day later his wife returned my sample with both sides polished to an almost mirror like shine. His method was to sand the surface with 2,000 grit wet/dry sandpaper then polish it with metal polish such as Meguir' s or Mothers using soft cotton cloth. He recommends being very sure to keep the working surface super clean to minimize minute scratches and swirls.
  21. I know Denny Johnston the designer and builder of the original Zingers. He still builds wildly creative stuff....unless you don't consider a 12 engine Fiat drag coupe as something radical! He lives here in Ohio and has been regular at the October NNL Nationals in the Toledo area.
  22. IMHO this is a little bland looking for a stingray style bike.Of course you could call it a "ghost rider"model I guess.
  23. Hopefully the monitors won't mind if I post this here, but I have some of these that I had resin cast a while back and anyone interested can PM me.If this against the forum rules please delete the post as I don't to get anyone in trouble.Thanks.
  24. Thanks for sharing the original article. We used what we had available in those days, although I personally never built ant body's from card stock.Are/were the body panels solid?I can't imagine trying to do the extensive and complicated body work you did on a flexible hollow body shell. Are you still building? If so believe me THIS is the golden age of model building.Welcome to the forums!
