I am tempted to get some of the wood decals. Were you able to order from a U.S.supplier or from Germany? Also how did you convert the price to U.S.dollars for payment? Thanks. -

Very impressive work. -
I guess I will eventually find out won't I.I mainly like it for the super easy way it molds when moistened and water clean is a blessing raether that having to use lacquer thinner all the time with a Tamiya product.

IMHO I would have added the 2 rear window braces for a more stable look. The side mouldings are perfect!

Question. When these lights are delivered from Shapeways are they ready to paint and install, and if you don't mind sharing, what do they cost? Thanks! -
Two things please me yesterday,I found unleaded gas for $ 1.61 a gallon in Columbus,Ohio and as I just posted a couple minutes ago on another thread I found a new really great acrylic plastic filler putty called Perfect Plastic Putty made by Deluxe Materials Co.All in all it was very good day.

I got great delivery(2 days for normal USPS ground!)from Ebay and so far am loving this product. It is light weight, not sticky like epoxy types, has no odor at all and molds really slick with a water dampened tool or finger so less sanding.I won't be psinting any time soon as it's only 28 degrees outside and I do have an inside place to spray so that remains to be determined. So far so good.I plan on keeping this as mt go to plastic putty.

Curving styrene sheet with a heat gun
misterNNL replied to misterNNL's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If I remember correctly I chose .045"and wrapped it around a foam buck in the shape of that trailer body. The stress cracks did not show right away. The year of that Airstream was not 2935,it is 1935.We live in Jackson Center,Ohio the hometown of Airstream so that build was a natural choice for me.Sally Byam the founder of Airstream sold plans to build this trailer in Popular Mechanics magazine in 1935.I found images if those plans on line and based my model on those images. -

I have had problems bending plastic sheet while building my 2935 Airstream Torpedo trailer last year. The sheet showed stress cracking in the areas of greatest stress resulting some extra work to correct. This was sheet about 4"wide at that area and well braced inside to resist springing back. Thanks for being willing to share your tech. -
Kicker for Faller super expert glue?
misterNNL replied to misterNNL's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks as always, ask any question and someone out there knows the answer. -
Possibly the "Black Jack"name is not derived from the paint color of choice but is a reference to the fact that it is knock you out georgeously beautiful and refers to the small hand held gangsters hand held weapon which was a small hand held leather pouch affair filled with lead shot and would be used to knock an opponent out cold.Just say'in that could be the basis of the name.

Kicker for Faller super expert glue?
misterNNL replied to misterNNL's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I believe that the stuff is made somewhere where the English language is not primary as all the instructions are in German or Dutch or whatever so it's all a mystery to me as what they say so there is no way to contact the manufacturer for info. -

I bought two grades of Faller super expert glue last year and am wondering if there is drying"kicker"available.I have their # 170490.I bought it basically because it has a hypodermic steel applicator.I use it mostly for sealing along seams of styrene panels. My only problem with the stuff is the snail's pace it dries at.It's my impatience that is the real root of the problem. Is anyone aware of an accelerator that works with this product?
