  1. The wheels looks great, and chrome wheels with this color would look goofy.
  2. Whatever happened to this? I have a 98 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2. I can take any photo's you need if they'd help. It's not a special edition or anything, but from what I read especially the interior is pretty much unchanged. Mine is also fairly optioned.
  3. These cars are great on paper and absolutely gorgeous, but after driving a couple, I don't think I could ever own one. Like I said though they are gorgeous and their numbers are impressive. Speaking of which, the color looks GREAT. Gives it a very sinister appearance. That and I thought I did a good dash, but thanks a lot, you're making mine look like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH.
  4. I used that same rusting set with good results, but I had bad results at first too. What I did was thinned in and put it through a large orifice airbrush. I stuck it through a medium tip aztec nozzle. If I remember correctly it is an acrylic base. I could be wrong though. I either thinned it with rubbing alcohol or plain paint thinner. Then after it dried for a few days I actually wrapped it in thin toilet paper and soaked that with the rusting stuff and then pressed it down in spots. Took about a week with repeated applications in some spots, but it ended up turning out fairly well. So just a heads up if you decide you wanna give it another shot. If you wanna try something different look up Karl Logan's techniques. He does a good job.
  5. Peopel always say these cars are ugly, and I agree, but I also believe they are gorgeous at the same time. I haven't seen one in this red but it's look GREAT so far. I've been wanting to do one of these things but I can't find one.
  6. Ok this is actually a tutorial I put up on my old site from someone else. I did it with permission, and thought I'd share. I'll do a proper one later. http://fantacmet.tripod.com/howto1.html
  7. Check out this 5th post in here. HEHE MONSTER MANX! http://manxclub.yuku.com/topic/939/Hot-Rod-Magazine-Home-Coming-Cover-Car-March-2324-2013#.UqK4GuJllqM I always thought it'd be cool to do one as a 4x4.
  8. I haven't started work on it yet except for the engine. So no pics yet. I kinda like the idea of the roll pan. I'm thinking of crating a rollpan for this. Though if I do I might wanna digup a Corvette rearend I can cannibalize to make that classic 90's look. I know I'm gonna go with hugger orange and black, with either a yellow or silver stripe in between but I can't figure whether to put the orange on top or bottom. HAHA. I need to pickup some of those old 454SS Pickup kits somewhere and recreate some OLD projects I did once. One thing I want to do for this that I don't know how and I don't want to botch it up is remove the grill parts and replace them with mesh, but I want the mesh even with the front of the rest of it and not recessed. I have some brass screen here that I could use, though not being PE not sure how well it would work.
  9. Cool I'm gonna have to pick it up and go the extra mile and spoil the rotten woman to death for her birthday. She's already getting an 18K Gold Necklace for Christmas it took me 4 months to pay off.
  10. I'd love to do one and drop in a 500CID Caddy engine like hotrod magazine did once. WOW Lookin good.
  11. Wicked, is this a new kit? All the ones I have seen have been the older 80's ones. If this is a newer one you got a pic of the box so I know which one to grab? My wife is a HUGE Bandit fan and wants the car, best I can do is a model one, can't afford the real deal.
  12. I've got the regular one not the lowered one. So basically if I just flip the spindles in the regular truck they should be right up there and it should lay out like that? Not sure if I need it THAT low, but if not I can always drop a couple of o-rings and make it look bagged. I don't really like 20's so I don't plan on putting 20's on it but 16's or 18's would be perfect, but I gotta find just the right wheel/tire combo. I do intend to get another one and convert it to 4WD I have a wheel/tire combo here that I like and can cast resin copies of and intend to. In fact I am in the process of everytime I make a cast I take some of the leftover resin and fill up a little more of the hollow tire to make it nice and solid for a good mold when it's done. As far as being moved to trucks or questions, the trucks section I saw only big rigs and I couldn't find a questions section, but if it's there then by all means it should be moved to a questions area.
  13. Yeah rear is easy. I wonder how much drop from flipping the spindles?
  14. Pretty good at lowering most of my models but I just picked up the old Revell Silverado and I want to drop it without losing detail, and I've never had any luck cutting the pins and raising them up. Anyone have any idea's or perhaps even the lowering parts from the lowered version they sold? Or resin copies thereof?
  15. I would love to do an R34 like he drove in F&F2. May pick one up this weekend if I can afford it.
  16. This was sad, just as he was getting to be well known in the acting world, he wasn't given enough credit with his acting talent. I see alot of mega famous actors that can best be described as hacks, but was at least mostly believable in the F&F films. 40 though man the guy is older then I am and I thought I was a good 8-10 years older then he was. Dude looked WAY young.
  17. Aesthetically speaking, it's not my style, however the workmanship on it so far beats the snot out of anything I can do. Looks GREAT. Perhaps something you should see about casting in resin, might just be a market for it.
  18. I've thought about re3casting some stuff, but I would never EVER sell it without permission. I'd only use it for my own projects. So far I've only cast copies of items from kits, as I'm not willing to drop 60-80 bucks on a kit just to get a few stowage items on armor models for example. I would like to sell some of them, and I wrote the company requesting either permission to sell resin copies or that they offer those particular sprues seperately, but they never responded. So oh well I just keep them for my own use. As far as reproducing resin, if any of the sci-fi stuff mentioned was originally done by a Lady named April(I don't remember the company name), she's just on a hiatus for awhile. I know the hiatus has been going on for a couple of years, but she's out of state helping out some family right now and her molds are in storage. However I am in occasional contact with her and I may end up getting access to the molds to be able to start casting and selling for her. Though I would likely need to find someone to do the decals. At least for some items.
  19. Exactly and it's supposed to represent a late 70's early 80's, so I'm really leaning towards the orange. It seems like it would follow the particular angles better and bring more of that era that I am looking for.
  20. Trying to think if I wanna do orange or silver for the sep line.
  21. Why not? There's a guy around here who has a supercharged nitrous injected YUGO dumping about 250HP. I know in Idaho there is a Chevette motivated by a blown 350, and a buddy mine has a cousin drives around a Chevette with a 500CID Caddy engine in it.
  22. Looks like a standard Monte Carlo Aero Coupe NASCAR edition. From the movie pics anyway. I actually just saw one of the Aero Coupes the other day coming home, man that thing was SLICK. SS, black with red trim, and it was SHINY and sounded HEALTHY!
  23. Nah reserved for Nissan/Datsun my other vehicular love aside from lambo's countach
  24. Yeah the intake is over them little bit, but no helping that. Store more interesting then the generic looking smoothies. I generally only like the smoothies on dodge engines. Plus it's a hint that maybe someone has done some work internally even if everything else looks stock. I plan to include an engine build sheet with this build, along with a Dyno readout for it. Since I do touchup with Acrylic I wait until the engine is installed before touching up the valve covers but good lookin out.
  25. Ah ok it's um lemme go grab the can. Testors Customer Laquer system, Royal Blue Pearl.
