Dodge Charger. I'm actually slowly building the General Mayhem myself! welcome!

Great looking car. I love period correct looking hot rods.

One of my favorite '50 olds builds on here! I have been mentally storing ideas for my '50 olds kit when I get around to doing it. I want it about this low, but with a different finish. Although now I want to make a led sled too!!!

What's the story behind your user name/avatar?
JTalmage replied to JollySipper's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
The username I wanted was taken when I signed up, however i've never seen anyone by that name post anything anywhere, so that kinda makes me mad, so I just went first initial and last name. Typically my username on just about every forum I'm on is "Stangman" because I'm a huge fan of Mustangs, and I've had 5 at one time before. Down to 3 now, but still love em just the same. Avatar picture will probably never change here for me, I find it too much work to resize and shrink a picture for only a short times use. So I found a picture I used elsewhere before of the GT Mustang side emblem that is on my '94 GT and so there you have it. -
Love it! If this had been a kit I saw in the store... I'd buy a few of em... really like what youve done.

Revell Integra Type R (Kit Restoration)
JTalmage replied to FullTimeHobbiest's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I have a few parts from this kit that I acquired when a friend got out of the hobby a few years back, if anyone needs them let me know. I have no use for them. -
Well crud. Thanks the the replies guys. Guess I gotta make a new one.

I was just about to update it to show which kits/cars that have been traded off but now its nowhere to be found. Was I doing something wrong? Seemed like things were going well. I even searched for all topics that I started... nowhere to be found. thx

If I won the lottery and money was no object... i'd pay off all my debt, get more, then pay it off too. Pay off all my parents debt, my sisters debt, and if my friends were nice enough, theirs too. Then do absolutely nothing because I hate work, and do what I wanna do every second of every day. Which is work on cars at my own pace. If I had enough money left over, I'd buy a giant building and pack it to the brim full of awesome tools and equipment, and even more cars, and just work on stuff. Maybe start my own junk yard and buy all sorts of stuff... yeah I'd be that guy. Maybe even start a gas monkey/counts customs sort of business with all of that and sit back and be the eccentric owner and hope that it supports itself while building my collection lol. I'd own soo much stuff that when I die they would rather just burn it all than sort thru it. I probably wouldnt go for a massive mansion, because thats just silly, but a nice house would be decent... I like old houses so who knows. I like stuff... and hot rods. and I'd live my dream. So yes, money would change things.

You could have posted pictures of the body and grille/bumper and told me it was a brand new kit and I would have believed you! Amazing what purple power will do... I'm sure I'll get to needing it one day.

you guys that make stuff out of scratch always amaze me. Love where this one is going. You folks must have a small fortune tied up in evergreen lol but it shows with your work!

I have a LOT of Steve McQueen movies on DVD, but this is the only one I have on VHS lol -
I like where this is going!

This corvette/nomad and the rat-mad are probably my favorites... I love seeing this kind of work. my update is that I brought all of my model building stuff back home, havent gotten it set up yet, but hoping to soon. I need to get back in this, but life seems to be getting in the way more frequently. I also might be entering more vehicles if time allows.

Dang Dan I think I found out why I can never win foxbody mustang models off ebay! You have em all LOL
-
Iceman... I love that '57. Looks great!!! Also, add some depth with a black wash to the wheels on that truck and I would think its real.

H.B. Halicki original gone in 60 seconds
JTalmage replied to MsDano85gt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Two Lane Blacktop is a good movie if you can imagine putting yourself in their perspective. I see it as more of a true to life type of story like youre right there with them. -
Been too lazy to finish this one, wanted to recreate a moist/wet environment and have green spanish moss on the sides of this one to mimic a car I saw in a magazine once.
-
My first attempt at using Sophisticated Finishes for rust i've used Testors "rust" paint in the past and dry-brushed it for a rusty effect, also their browns and light browns for mud and dirt.
-
I'm seriously contemplating about bringing my entire setup back home. I would work on my cars more often.... I havent been to my friends house to work on my Charger for many weeks
-
staring at the chassis' in the picture makes me realize how wrong the gas tanks are for those models. Looks like a Mustang II underneath.

Apocalyptic VW bus
JTalmage replied to Brendan30's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks great! Love the weathering! if it were mine, I'd add wheel/tire guards, window slats, and KC lights on the roof.
