71 Mustang resin cast parts
JTalmage replied to vamach1's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Would definitely like to get my hands on some wheels modelled after the trim rings/caps like on the original Eleanor, along with a flat hood. I have the AMT '73 sitting in my closet begging... and I keep looking at '71s on ebay lol -
Is it me or is the air breather offset to the drivers side? Looks great though!

I'm only 27, but my desk job and inactivity has caught up to me badly. I'm also in need of a 50+ lb weight loss. Although, I had bad knees and a bad back prior to all of this... so I'm 27 going on 58 it feels like... I keep telling myself that every 100lbs I lose, is a tenth of a second in the quarter mile.. and drag racing season is coming up... I need to looks about 60-70lbs! lol

Thats genius! never thought of using a pop can for all the brackets and leaf springs... I've always wanted to do a scratch built front straight axle ever since I first seen one on here... I'm a little too cowardly to try to make an altered wheelbase car though...

When I'm burned out, I seem to drift in to another hobby. Like, usually my hobbies are anything to do with cars. Usually the 1:1 versions. I've been working on my Lincoln Mark VIII every chance I get at a friends house, or my '88 Mustang in my garage when its not freezing cold here, or my back hurts. So when I run out of money, time, or patience with the real cars, I'll typically revert to playing video games online with my buddies... lately it's been Grand Theft Auto 5. But as of the past few months (as it typically is for me in the winter) I start getting in to building model cars heavily again. I know some of you are very in to this and it's the main hobby, and I think that could be why some people get burned out... they do it all the time. Who knows. For me, its become more seasonal than full time. You all probably wont see much out of me during the spring/summer/fall times (except hopefully my cannonball build will still go on!) I typically get serious A.D.D when it comes to my hobbies, I bounce back and forth between real 1:1 cars, to video games, to model cars, to practicing guitar, (which I havent done in a while... need to get back on that because I'm terrible), going drag racing, or doing a lot of drinking. But every time I come back to this site, I see something phenomenal that re inspires me to get back to work.. otherwise i'll never finish all these darn cars. I'd LOVE to get some storage space back. lol

I did not know the Kowalski Edition ever existed... and I must say, I like it! I always said an all white challenger w/ rallye style wheels would be a killer tribute to those movies.

Been messing with the paint. I'm trying to get that "dried out southern california" look on the paint. Haven't gotten that far yet but will be tinkering with it. Wrote roadkill with a pen on the hoodscoop lol

I was test fitting a chassis on my '65 Fairlane body, and not realizing that resin is a little less pliable than styrene, I accidentally broke a chunk of the rear quarter panel off the body, not a big peice but enough to make me really mad. I broke a pizza slice shaped chunk out of it... will CA glue hold it well enough for it to be handled/painted/sanded/etc??? The Chassis I will ultimately be using will be shaved down on the sides because it was a bear to get in and out. I dont want to break it again! I'm really kinda freaking out over it since AFX In Scale resin isnt producing it anymore since it was bought out.. I havent seen any updates from that site in ages...

Ahhhhh nearly 100 cars wrecked in under an hour... '74 was a good year for car chase movies! I need to go rewatch the original Gone.... -

Oooh. I like this thread! I've got a black '94 GT that I'm hoping to replicate soon! Just bought a monogram '94 GT off ebay (Never seen the monogram one before!) and it was cheap, so I'll add it to my AMT '94 GT as well. Now if someone only made Bullitt wheels in deep dish and regular dish I'd be set!- 106 replies

Looks good! At a glance it looks like a Holden

Man, if the details were geared for a '65 model I'd buy one! I'm collecting parts to assemble a replica of my dad's '65 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe, K code car! I'd also like to add, My dad's 289 HiPo has the COBRA embossed 4barrel intake, which you almost always see in aluminum.... but the one on my dad's car, is cast iron!

I have the Cabriolet... and built it many years ago... its unfortunately fallen apart since then.

When kit scavenging gets bad
JTalmage replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I bury my cars in my closet to where I dont even want to get them out unless I absolutely have to. That keeps me out of them pretty good! I've probably got about 50-60 unbuilts, and at least 20 that need rebuilt. It's tough when Styrene A.D.D. hits... -
I am collecting parts for a build of the '65 Fairlane in stock form, already have the resin body from A/FX resin, but I hate the chassis that comes with the original kit. I would like to not have full exhaust molded to the chassis, and would like to have more detailed suspension. Has anyone else had experience in this? I thought maybe either the 64 Fairlane Tbolt or the '66-67 Fairlane may work, but wanted to check before I bought a car for no reason and hacked it to pieces. thx!
