Dig the color combo! was that pink a metallic right out of the can or did you spray a metallic clear over it?

that looks fantastic! A perfect street car cage!

if only Columbus was 2 hrs closer.... lol I really like how it turned out. I thought it really needed a 2 tone but seeing the silver details and decals really brought it together. I would love to make my own version of this car sometime I like it that much.

Chopped '32 Vicky, AMT body on Revell fenders and rails

I freakin dig this! -
Big Bopper was a very accomplished radio DJ, and all around funny guy from what I've read about him. Had he lived, he probably would have been an actor/comedian/record producer... as he was working on a studio in his home around the time of his death. I could only image where rock music would be today had those 3 lived.

Also got some parts from MsDano85GT and some extras! Thanks Dan!

Did a trade with ranma and actually got my package before I could even send his out. So he's definitely an good guy in my book! Thanks again!

Man.... I would love to make a CJ mustang... that looks killer!!!!

Well, I accidentally painted over dissimilar paints, and there is a lot of cracking/crazing under the hood and I'm not pleased with it. the pink is actually a red, and it was supposed to be darker. The chassis, firewall, and core support are all bad... definitely need stripped. Silly me.. should have known but tried to chance it.

Put some paint on it, but not happy with it. Probably gonna strip it and redo it.

Has some paint on it. But I don't like how it turned out. Will be taking a purple bath soon. -

Yeah I said the same thing too, but I couldn't find much out there without spending more than I wanted too. Screendoor mesh would be ideal but its too flimsy. This stuff is perfect. Plus, when I weather it, it will look better. -
What did you use to get in all the nooks and tight spots to sand the texture away from the floorboards? I need to do this on a car I'm working on.

Did a touch more work to it last night: Removed material from behind the driving lights to open up the holes since the General Mayhem did not have any driving lights at all in the valence Also trying my hand at a little scratch-building for the first time... I've cut the original door panels out w/ my squadron scribe tool that I picked up last week.. which was worth it! I'm trying to recreate doors without door panels on them. And it's kinda tough, my hands are cramping, and everything is hard to cut! But it's going to look like this I hope... So I cut the original part out, and started making pieces from evergreen Going to overlay it to hopefully create some depth.

Yes, you need to wetsand the clear with a block so as you dont create scratches and fog it really badly. Then you can shoot the color and clear. Same as if you were doing stripes on a car, wetsand the clear, lay out the stripes, paint the stripes, re-clear the whole thing. You dont want to sand your color. if you dry sanded it then you would really fudge it up.

Roadkill's '68 Dodge Charger "General Mayhem"

Roadkill Charger "General Mayhem" update! So I've been staying near work this week to watch my sisters place, and I'm closer to my friends house where I do my building, so I stopped by this evening and messed around with the Charger for a few hours. First I made a few body dents and damage to mimic the real thing Then I removed the cozywings and all the trim around the windows/doors except a spot in the back. You can see in that picture I also cut the door handle holes out. Then I waited for my hand to stop cramping and decided to paint the engine black If you notice, the engine has a 727 torqueflite trans behind it. I robbed it from my Mr. Norm's '68 Dart when it fell apart. And the valve covers are from the revell '70 Challenger T/A because they are taller in the middle and look more like the valve covers on the 440 that Finnegan and Freiburger pull from the motorhome. I also did the little dent in the front fender. Don't mind the putty.... my dremel went a little crazy when drilling the holes for where the '68 marker lights *should* be. Next, I decided to tackle the most iconic part of the General Mayhem.... The grille! I gotta find just the right kind of lights to put behind it now! In addition I also found the rear taillights and taillight buckets finally, along with an automatic pedal setup from the same Dart, and electric fan from the old revell 32 ford. -

I've had a Hot Rod Magazine subscription since '96. So for me that is 18 years. I'm 27 now. I read sooo many of those issues over and over and over. I have always loved Hot Rod. Some may hate it, but with a magazine that focuses on cars, you have to flow with the trends. Van craze died out, Prostreet died out, patina comes and goes. They do a good job in my opinion of catering to everyone. It may take an issue or 3 to get to what you like, but, the 2 issues before are about something different that someone else may have been wanting to see. Plus, Roadkill rules.

I said the same thing as soon as I saw it!

Yep I fought the airride for a while, changed front bags/shocks to some low mileage ones off a '97, still acted up... So I said forget it and switched over to coil spring suspension, Bilstein shocks from a Cobra in the back, now it rides nice. Also swapping a thunderbird SC rear sway bar in so it doesnt feel soo floaty. Need to tighten the front up now.

I'd hope not! I paid the bill this month! lol I have to go over soon and get some parts out of it to sell, I'll have to snap a current picture
