Keep up the good work! I myself have found myself struggling w/ weight the past 5 years. I went from being 6' and 180lbs in a 34-36 waist pants to being 240lbs and in a size 40 waist pants. In just over 3 and a half years. Desk jobs are a killer!!!!! I thought I had it under control in fall of 2010, and at the time I went from 230lbs down to 199, but then Thanksgiving and Christmas hit me back to back... and I fell off the wagon... theres just something about those christmas cookies! I've yet to find the same motivation I had in 2010... I think it's something about also being nearly 4 years older... ugh. To think I'll only be 28 this year. I'm not a fruit and veggie eater, cant stand them... but my Mt Dew and chicken sandwich breakfast is taking its toll... I'm the kind of person who cant get up in the morning very well so I have virtually no time to prepare breakfast and lunch for myself... so its gas station breakfast and fast food lunch... and its caught up to me. Starting with sciatic nerve pain on my left side... and knee issues... luckily blood pressure is good though. I recently got a pretty nasty stomach bug thats going around and lost 10lbs overnight, and so I've been eating yogurt, granola bars, and... yes... an occasional apple (even though it tastes like grape!) and I've already cut down on a lot (but not all) of my pop drinking. the evening snacking is hard when I'm playing Grand Theft Auto online w/ my buddies.. but I'm working on it... plus.... beer... I like beer. Anywho... I'm with ya... it sucks lol

With the mobile app, I've found that if you try to open the app and upload pics, it doesnt work, and gives the problems that you all are describing. I've figured out that if you want to upload a single photo just hit the menu button on your phone (android in my case) and click the share box, then it will bring up all the programs you can share it with. Select photobucket, and then you will be able to upload it. I catch myself opening the app and trying it all the time... then have to close it and do it the way I learned. If you want to upload a bunch of photos, long press on a pic, and you can select multiple pics, then click share, and do the same thing. This way you can select the album you want it to go in as well. Works well for me.

64 Belvedere Station Wagon " W/Digger and Trailer"
JTalmage replied to Mopar - D's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I really like it's low stance! not sure if you had planned on it, but adding some white to the interior on the seats and door panels would make it really go with the 2 tone theme! Dig it so far though! -
I mixed what I thought was a good consistency of "wash" that flowed well, and wasnt too thick, nor too watery... but I found that its' rather hard to wipe off of white paint! I was able to wash my door, trunk, trim recesses, but it didnt wanna come back off, no matter how thin I got it or how much soap I added... not very happy with it, but the experiment continues I guess. Although after several layers, I've got my engine looking just about how I want it.... since it doesnt wipe off super easy.

I'm loving this thread!

Sweet! I'll have to find some of that stuff and mess around with it! less ingredients than I thought!

Amazing work. Simply amazing. I have always wanted to build a diorama for model car placement pictures... but wow I would have never thought about the detail that you put in to this... and after seeing yours now, I dont think I could ever build one and be happy with it! haha I would love to have an exact copy of yours! but I dont know where I'd put it! lol

Wouldnt wetsanding the decals off with a fine grit sand paper be ideal? Would also give you a better surface for eventual paint.
-
Ahh good point. I was trying to thin testors flat black and stuff like that. I think thats what my issue was. Any particular ratio? Or just thin it til I like how it looks?
-
Hey folks, I've tried to search thru pages of the forums first before asking, but with no luck... but how can I make a good blackwash? I tried my hand at it last night, but it pulled the paint off the part I was working on once I wiped it away no matter how I mixed it. What is the ideal mixture and ingredients? I'd like to keep it in a small glass testors paint bottle to use whenever I need it. Thanks! and sorry for a question that I'm sure is asked a lot!! Jesse

The license plate on the DP Nova was JJZ 109? I never noticed. I know that's the Bullitt mustang plate number. Noticed the Duck as well... would be kinda neat to put that on the hood of a black Kenworth for a "Convoy" model.

Painted it. Wasn't decided on paint but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me in my boxes of paint. So I went subtle. Good thing 12yr old spray paint still looks good! Waiting for my engine parts to arrive before I cut a hole in the hood and paint it. I also used a translucent red to spray the windows. This car is almost looking too good for me to want to make it rusty looking.... I also painted my front wheel centers gray, and cleared them with dullcoat

Intake for the AMT Christine
JTalmage replied to slammedi'am's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
My friend just finished his version of this. He just shaved down the intake a little and put 2 carbs and air cleaners on it. Can't tell it wasn't supposed to be that way. -
I have this same kit... I want to lower it on some whitewall tires too. Where did you get the tires? And can you show more of what you did to lower it? This is the next kit I plan to build. Thanks!

Scratch Building an Aussie Ford Falcon **New update,15/1/18**

Wow.... wow.... wow.... just... wow. -
Very cool! I'm working on a '55 2 door over in the on the bench section, and using my Nomad for parts. I love gassers!
-
Sorry for the newb question, but I havent seen anything anywhere else... but has anyone seen or made some aftermarket resin Bullitt wheels for Mustangs? Not the wheels that came on the '08 Revell kit, but some 99-04 bodystyle Bullitt wheels? I've got an AMT '94 Mustang GT on the backburner in the closet, that I would LOVE to make exactly like my real '94 GT... 17x10.5" back wheels, 315 drag radials and all! Thanks!

I always did like the Nascar convertibles from back in the 50's...
-
Found my front torq-thrust wheels. I threw them in my AMT '67 Mustang kit I guess thinking I was going to do a Bullitt.. then the Bullitt model came out... anyway.... I also ordered some M/T big block chevy valvecovers, Hillborn intake, and Hillborn stacks for the motor as well. All of this came from Speed City Resins. Now, I'm trying to decide on the color of the car. I'm going to weather it as well so I'm probably going to do something in layers. Then rust. I would also like to spray the windows w/ some translucent paint, for that 60's gasser look. But what color....
-
Thanks! I've also seemed to have misplaced the original chrome torq-thrust front wheels to the nomad, and I cant put the front suspension/wheels together with any other ones because of how the front axle is made. So I'll have to dig thru my parts to see where they ran off to. I think they're in my '62 impala convertible box.... for some reason if memory serves me right.

Cut the springs off the axle, and found some 68-69 Dodge Charger leaf springs in my parts box, and heated them up and bent them to give it more height on the rear end. The blue panel in the chassis is actually the tonneau bed cover for an old small scale bigfoot snaptight I had as a kid. Cut it down and molded it/glued it in place as the filler. glued the leaf springs to the axle, and got them settled in to place. I may add a small block to the back just to give it a touch more height, but overall it looks good in the rear. As you can see below, even w/ the extra height on the rear springs, the front straight axle set up just made the car sit too level for my liking. So, I cut the shocks in half that were molded to the front axle, and added some material in there to simulate "extended" shocks, then added a small block above the transverse leaf spring to bring it down from the cross-member. Not the greatest way to do it, but I got the results I wanted. Looks MUCH better now that it has the true gasser stance. I also ran into an issue w/ the motor, I think it's 1/24th scale, and this car is 1/25th scale, so the engine is bigger than it should be, so I cant run ANY front accessories to the motor. Going to have to think on that, may have to "clearance" the firewall and move the motor back a little.
