  1. Man.... I would REALLY love to have those parts too for my '73!!!!
  2. My favorite episode was the Raunchero episodes... They actually even quoted me in the magazine when it came out lol
  3. So here it is... I was waiting to start this one, but I just cant wait til my '55 Chevy gasser is done... Anyway, it started life out as a Revell Dick Landy's '68 Dodge Charger. My friend got out of model building years ago and gave me everything he had. This included a LOT of poorly built cars that someone tried to build when he was out of town, broken cars, and unbuilt cars. Amongst them was the '55 Chevy that I started, and this Charger which was started and unfinished. The parts are a mix of the parts from this kit and the '67 Coronet kit, and whatever else he gave me... which was a LOT of extra stuff. I'll try and snap a pic of that stuff soon. So, to preface the build, I'm a big fan of Hot Rod Magazine, and they do youtube videos called Roadkill which are freaking awesome... so, they did a video recently of them building an extremely bare bones, Mad Max inspired '68 dodge charger that was built to handle anything... and here it is in all of it's awesomeness!

  5. Sweet! I'll be building a '68 Dodge Charger. Dumb question though.... does it have to take all 11 months? What if I finish in 2? Sorry for the dumb questions.... new here still.
  6. I'm a little confused, but am interest in playing along... I read the first page but don't understand how this works... is it too late to join the game? Edit: OK, I've reread the first page... makes much more sense now... just build a car that was produced prior to '79.... that sounds easy. Is it too late to join the fun though?
  7. Cold weather irks me. I'm sick of it. I want to work on my 1:1 cars... I've got tooooo much to do to them. I need to exercise... but I hate doing it indoors... so I like riding my bike... cant do it in cold/nasty weather. ugh.
  8. Yeah last I remember you got yourself a foxbody coupe! I'm Stangman on there, but that username was taken on here. Funny how we ran into each other on a completely different forum. lol
  9. wow. nice job on bringing a neglected old model back to life!
  10. I love the "real" NASCAR's of the old days.Great representation of them!
  11. jrherald420..... did you used to have a Lincoln Mark VIII??? I swear I remember your username from LincolnvsCadillac.com....
  12. I have a bad time with projectitis too... Except I seem to like rebuilding old wrecks and gluebombs more than put new kits together for some reason... yet I keep buying new kits. I'm just as bad w/ model cars as I am the real thing... I've got 4 project cars, and I like to tinker w/ my daily driver truck too...
  13. I remember playing the original Car & Driver's "The Need for Speed" when it came out, and I was playing it on my Sega Saturn... that was a short lived system... man I thought those were awesome graphics back then. Need for Speed III was my favorite for a LONG time. Dont care much for the NFS series now. Dont even like the new Gran Turismo. I'm hooked on Grand Theft Auto 5, and Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar is pretty much my favorite game creator at this point.
  14. I'll try it w/o soap and see what I get. Water was straight from the tap city water, I'll try bottled as well and see if I can get different results. I dont have any pics at the moment. I do all my building in my friend's basement and our schedules vary.
  15. When I clicked on this thread, I was actually expecting to see the Pontiac G8 GXP.... lol
  16. Frog Tape. works well for me soo far.
  17. I am using acrylic paint now. Mixing with water, and a bit of soap. Leaves a residue, and specks. I have to lick my finger to and rub the car to "break it loose" and then try to wipe it down to get it off the car. I'm going to have to just look in to getting some detailer. This is kinda frustrating.
  18. I really want to build another one of these. I built one many years ago as a kid w/ my dad, and painted nothing on it lol
  19. Anyone have any suggestions as to why it doesnt wipe away like I would think it should? It's really thinned and still difficult to wipe away residual color.
  20. I seen a picture of the car you were inspired from.... totally awesome!!!
  21. Keep up the good work! I myself have found myself struggling w/ weight the past 5 years. I went from being 6' and 180lbs in a 34-36 waist pants to being 240lbs and in a size 40 waist pants. In just over 3 and a half years. Desk jobs are a killer!!!!! I thought I had it under control in fall of 2010, and at the time I went from 230lbs down to 199, but then Thanksgiving and Christmas hit me back to back... and I fell off the wagon... theres just something about those christmas cookies! I've yet to find the same motivation I had in 2010... I think it's something about also being nearly 4 years older... ugh. To think I'll only be 28 this year. I'm not a fruit and veggie eater, cant stand them... but my Mt Dew and chicken sandwich breakfast is taking its toll... I'm the kind of person who cant get up in the morning very well so I have virtually no time to prepare breakfast and lunch for myself... so its gas station breakfast and fast food lunch... and its caught up to me. Starting with sciatic nerve pain on my left side... and knee issues... luckily blood pressure is good though. I recently got a pretty nasty stomach bug thats going around and lost 10lbs overnight, and so I've been eating yogurt, granola bars, and... yes... an occasional apple (even though it tastes like grape!) and I've already cut down on a lot (but not all) of my pop drinking. the evening snacking is hard when I'm playing Grand Theft Auto online w/ my buddies.. but I'm working on it... plus.... beer... I like beer. Anywho... I'm with ya... it sucks lol
  22. With the mobile app, I've found that if you try to open the app and upload pics, it doesnt work, and gives the problems that you all are describing. I've figured out that if you want to upload a single photo just hit the menu button on your phone (android in my case) and click the share box, then it will bring up all the programs you can share it with. Select photobucket, and then you will be able to upload it. I catch myself opening the app and trying it all the time... then have to close it and do it the way I learned. If you want to upload a bunch of photos, long press on a pic, and you can select multiple pics, then click share, and do the same thing. This way you can select the album you want it to go in as well. Works well for me.
  23. I really like it's low stance! not sure if you had planned on it, but adding some white to the interior on the seats and door panels would make it really go with the 2 tone theme! Dig it so far though!
  24. I mixed what I thought was a good consistency of "wash" that flowed well, and wasnt too thick, nor too watery... but I found that its' rather hard to wipe off of white paint! I was able to wash my door, trunk, trim recesses, but it didnt wanna come back off, no matter how thin I got it or how much soap I added... not very happy with it, but the experiment continues I guess. Although after several layers, I've got my engine looking just about how I want it.... since it doesnt wipe off super easy.
  25. I'm loving this thread!
