  1. Pictures.
  2. Looks like our typical 60’s slot car and the body was later used by LS (Japanese model maker) to produce a simplistic kit. The front wheels look pretty small. That’s my guess but Gramps46 and others would probably know for sure. For some reason prices for old slot cars are very high despite Revell/Monogram making very accurate 1/32 slot cars along with Scalextric and Fly in the last few decades. I guess people want what they cannot easily find.
  3. Super realistic scene of an unlikely event in real life. ? Seriously - well done. Perhaps that is what movie maker and modelers have in common - the imagination is unlimited.
  4. Fantastic looking interior and engine.
  5. I just moved here last year and have been to the Southlandz shows and went to one IPMS show a few months ago. I really like the Model Car Creations group that meets at Flippers cinema the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7pm.
  6. Welcome. I’m over on the other coast in Miami. We have a club that meets in Hollywood. Are there any model clubs over your way?
  7. One of John Force’s first funny cars which could be made modified starting with the MPC Hot Rod mold but the sidewinder engine might be troublesome. It’s amazing John is still racing over 50 years later.
  8. Thanks everyone. Here’s a view in the late day sun taken a couple minutes ago. The color does pop.
  9. Nice score and kudos for tackling a kit that you rarely see built. As I’m a glutton for punishment too I built one box stock maybe a decade ago. I just may have to junk that silly looking carb and replace it with one more realistic looking. I think the MPC J car is a more accurate representation of this car but it changed by the week during development into what ultimately became the MKIV that won Lemans and Sebring in 1967.
  10. Found this picture of an original kit. Hopefully I have the grille and other parts in my stash to complete my gluebomb build.
  11. Glad I found you guys. For anyone that is interested the new meeting location is Flippers movie theatre. Same schedule (second and forth Tuesday at 7pm) at 7001 Taft Street Hollywood FL.
  12. I hope you guys can get together this year. It’s been a while since the annual buffet also know as the December meeting.
  13. I guess for fifty bucks maybe I could get one that has been crushed. These prices just blow me away. I guess the only advantage over an unbuilt kit is there is something you can display.
  14. I posted the build in the under glass section.
  15. Thanks. I think I was going based on the box art originally which of course is usually a mistake unless it is a photo of the actual car. By 73 with the major car companies losing interest in the Trans Am series the rules covering tire and wheel sizes and body modifications were less restrictive. One thing I have never seen is an AMT decal on the real car although finding pictures from the races it was entered are few and far between.
  16. Someday three will be these aftermarket decal for the 427’s but it’s been about seven years since they appeared on the website. As others said us the Monogram kit for the 427 and AMT for the 289. You can kitbash a racing 289 with some of the Sunny/Revell parts but after you’ve spent money for two kits perhaps spring for a HRM resin kit of the FIA version if the complexity and price of resin kits do not intimidate you.
  17. Those rear fenders were bugging me so I sliced them out. Hopefully only some touch up paint will be needed instead of a respray. It is a race car after all so it should not look perfect. ?
  18. Working on this one along with the Prostock Mustang. The race is on to see which I finish first. I might go back and rework the rear fenders as I realize they should be enlarged a lot more than just being flared out.
  19. Custom decals from Polecat came in so it’s time to get this project moving again.
  20. 99% sure now it’s an AMT kit body based on these pictures. I do not think I’ve ever seen the yellow promo but that is pretty cool looking. I have most of the parts I’ll need and I’ll fill in whatever is missing from the AMT 68 Shelby GT500 kit. Those promo prices are insane.
  21. I believe this is an original AMT body but someone correct me if I’m wrong. It’s a glue bomb I bought a while ago. I had this spray paint in my stash and have no idea how I acquired it but thanks Howard W. Anyway, I need to wet sand the body and probably respray it. It’s an unusual color for sure.
  22. Two more Mustangs in progress. Wheels on the Tope car are just for test fitting. I hope to finish both of them in a few weeks. Interesting how the paint schemes were similar.
  23. Perhaps someone will do decals for it with the AMT kit coming out later this year. I’ve blown my decal budget on several builds this year.
  24. Maybe someone will do a decal sheet. This one would be cool too but I would have to switch hoods.
